Kirsten Powers slammed President Obama Saturday in a roundtable discussion on why Fox News reporters never get called on at the president’s solo press conferences. It’s “because he doesn’t want to be embarrassed,” Powers said. She added that questions from Fox News would be “tenacious” and on subjects “he doesn’t want to get asked about.”
“He wants softballs,” Powers said.
Host Jon Scott noted that in a recent study, it was shown that Fox News gets called on at “less than half of the rates” of the other top outlets. ABC reporters get chosen the most frequently, followed by CBS, the AP, NBC and Fox News comes in at ninth place.
When Obama is asked a question by Fox News, Powers said, it’s similar to when Jay Carney “ends up looking stupid because he doesn’t know how to answer.”
The rests of the panelists agreed with Powers and said it was “brave” to challenge the “liberal mainstream media.”
Of course, conservatives know that Barack Obama got re-elected mostly because he's half-black, but are his stans still this stupid? Apparently the sad reality is yes they are.
I argue that this man may be the greatest con artist of all time:
Oprah Winfrey‘s long-awaited interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong
aired tonight, and right off the bat Armstrong admitted that he was
using performance-enhancing drugs for over a decade. He said that he
used a number of substances over the years, and Winfrey asked Armstrong
why he not only denied the doping charges, but he aggressively,
adamantly denied them in news interviews.
Winfrey asked Armstrong directly, “did you ever take banned
substances to enhance your cycling performance.” He answered “yes.” She
asked if he could have realistically won the Tour de France seven times
without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs. He said it was highly
doubtful, explaining that he got hooked in the mid-90s.
Winfrey brought up how Armstrong not only denied doping, but he
“brazenly and defiantly denied it.” Armstrong admitted he didn’t have a
good answer for why he lied so adamantly and even called other people
liars. He said that “all the fault and all the blame here falls on me”
for creating this “big lie” about himself and his “mythic, perfect
story.”
Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham joined the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday where she countered the argument made by Gen. Colin Powell on Meet the Press over the weekend where he claimed that the Republican Party looks down on minorities.
Ingraham outlined the ways in which the GOP has advanced the careers of
many prominent African-Americans, Powell included, and spelled out how
liberalism has historically “been an utter disaster” for
African-Americans.
Steve Doocy asked how the GOP, which has advanced the careers of people like Mia Love, Allen West and Gov. Susana Martinez (R-NM), could be as racist as Powell contends.
Ingraham said that Powell is frustrated with the Republican Party
over his role in pushing the war in Iraq. She said that he is still
bitter after testifying before Congress regarding weapons of mass
destruction that turned out not to be in Iraq.
“It seems that Colin Powell is trying to continue to expiate for his
sins of that testimony,” Ingraham said. “He worked for Republican
presidents and, presumably, those Republican presidents don’t have the
view that the Republican Party is riddled with racism and has a ‘dark
vein of intolerance.’”
Gretchen Carlson, playing “devil’s advocate,” said that even Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) has asked the GOP to do some introspection on how they relate to minorities.
Ingraham agreed, saying that the party has not done an effective job
of selling “the wonder” of free markets, economic liberty and
conservative social values. She said that liberalism has been a failure
for blacks in America in particular.
“I would challenge Colin Powell, frankly, to a debate on whether
liberalism – climate change regulation he wants, I guess more
affirmative action, he’s pro-choice, and now he believes that
immigration amnesty is going to help, I guess, what? The wages of the
black family?,” Ingraham asked.
“Liberalism has been an utter disaster for black America,” Ingraham
said. “The weapon of mass destruction, Gretchen, has been found. The
Democrats found it. It’s Colin Powell. He’s blowing up on Republicans.”
Typical example of moral decay and the perils of modern liberalism:
Nearly three thousand U.S. college students went online in the search for a 'sugar daddy' to fund their education last year.
Georgia
State University and New york University were the top two schools for
female students to seek out men willing to fund their tuition, with Pennsylvania's Temple University following closely behind for third place.
According to the website SeekingArrangement.com, 2012 saw a 58per
cent growth in female students signing up to be 'sugar babies,' which
the site describes as 'attractive, intelligent, ambitious and goal
oriented' women seeking 'financial pampering.'
It said 292 Georgia State University students sighed up to the site, lurching from 11th place in 2011 to first place in the list for 2012.
The University of Georgia, meanwhile, had 148 students sign up for the site, ranking eighth - down from second place last year.
The number of New York University
students signing up actually dropped from 2011, taking the university
from first place down to second place for 2012 with 285 sign ups.
In comparison, New York City's Columbia University had 100 sign ups.
Pennsylvania has had the most growth, on average, however. The website's founder Brandon Wade said in a statement: 'The
population of college Sugar Babies in Pennsylvania has steadily
increased every year, with Temple leading all major universities this
year.
'While some may argue
that these women are just using men for their own personal gain, I
believe that they are proactive in pursuing a higher education.'
CBS spoke to a student last year - who did not
want to be identified - who is a member of the site and asks for $10,000
to $20,000 a month.
The 22-year-old from Miami said she is looking for someone who will never say no to her needs.
She told the network: 'The lesson here… ask and you shall receive.
'They have given me cars, trips, jewelry. These guys will take you out and they will court you. 'They support you financially. My dreams came true after my parents stopped supporting me when I was 18.
Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers slammed President Obama‘s press conference earlier today when she told Bret Baier that his tone was “petulant” and he was “acting annoyed that people were asking him questions.”
Regarding the impending debt ceiling debate,
Powers said Obama “didn’t do a great job of explaining the situation”
because although a default would be “disruptive,” he “didn’t need to
exaggerate it.”
Baier noted that “default is really not an option for the country.”
Powers agreed and responded that Obama “could have been straightforward
about that.”
Obama saying that Social Security and veteran’s benefits may be
delayed, Powers continued, is a “scare tactic.” The GOP has a “fair
position,” she added, and Obama is setting it up to appear that “if you
don’t go his way, you like to starve children.”
Lefty extremism (and the exploitation of the Newton, CT tragedy) gone off the charts....hopefully, if the link is valid, the newspaper in question gets sued:
A White Plains residence pinpointed on a controversial handgun
permit database was burglarized Saturday, and the burglars' target was
the homeowner's gun safe.
At least two burglars broke into a
home on Davis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Saturday but were unsuccessful in an
attempt to open the safe, which contained legally owned weapons,
according to a law enforcement source. One suspect was taken into
custody, the source said.
The gun owner was not home when the
burglary occurred, the source said. The victim, who is in his 70s, told
Newsday on Sunday that he did not want to comment while the police
investigation continues.
"The police are doing a full investigation," the man said through a partially opened front door.
There was broken glass in the backyard
Sunday and a ladder leading up to a second-story window. Neighbors on
the street of modest, Colonial homes said they had heard about the
burglary.
The homeowner's name and address were
included recently on the controversial interactive map of gun permit
holders in Westchester and Rockland counties published on The Journal
News' website.
Neighbor John Mascia said he thought the gun permit database should not have been published.
"I could [not] care less what they have in their home," Mascia said.
Police are investigating what role, if
any, the database played in the burglars' decision to target the home,
the law enforcement source said.
White Plains police Lt. Eric Fischer confirmed that a burglary occurred but would not release further information Sunday.
The Journal News has been the target of sharp criticism from gun rights
advocates and some media ethicists since running the story and
interactive map Dec. 23. The story was published 10 days after the
Newtown, Conn., mass shooting that claimed the lives of 20 young
children and seven adults.
A call for comment to The Journal News was not immediately returned.
Hey, I'm on the side of getting guns out of the hands of crazy people, but not smug liberals who want to chose and exploit particular tragedies for their own cause.
