HuffPo.com:
Gay couples and proponents of gay rights have a reason to celebrate tonight, as the New York State Senate has passed a bill that allows same sex marriage.New York Republicans had the power to stop this. But they caved. Not only to a liberal governor who put unprecedented pressure on them to pass this immoral act, but the radically-leftist media here who literally begged, pressured and smeared them to get it done.
New York will be the sixth, and largest, state in the union to adopt gay marriage. The bill will take effect 30 days after governor Andrew Cuomo signs it into law.
The decision, which passed 33-29, was the culmination of weeks of contentious debate and negotiations between Governor Cuomo and the GOP-controlled Senate. After the bill passed in the Assembly, it was unclear if the bill had secured enough votes to pass in the Senate. When a few notable undecideds joined the cause --including Republican Roy McDonald who famously defended his decision, saying "fuck it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing" -- the scale in favor of gay marriage seemed to tip.
Homosexuality is an immoral, behavioral choice. It is up and down wrong. The super-rich and powerful gay lobbyists in this country knew full-well going in that getting New York to approve same-sex marriage would go a big way towards pushing their agenda forward, while further destroying the moral fabric of this country. Yet, Republican Senate had a chance to stop this from happening and they blew it...bigtime. Each one of the four GOP heads who bowed down to Andrew Cuomo here deserves to lose their job as through their vote they not only spat on marriage, but in the face of their constituents.

First interracial marriage, now gay marriarage? OMG What's next?!!!?!

ReplyDeleteIt is also Biblically immoral for (the children of) HAM to not be in chains.

You self righteous extremists are making all genuine conservatives look ignorant. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteConservatives are ignorant. If they truly practiced the principles we as a nation could once again accomplish great things. It takes a village, not a inclusive cul-de-sac.
ReplyDeleteWhat is immoral about letting people marry other consenting adults? Who says it's immoral? That bullshit bronze/iron age book that can't even get its' stories straight?
ReplyDeletehahahaahaha why you mad bro?
ReplyDeleteThese lawmakers are just so stupid! And when you read about how Cuomo plotted to pass this law, you realize that what lawmakers do has nothing to do with well being and best interest of their citizens. They don't care about it at all. All they care about is money from lobbying groups and keeping their cushy jobs. Oh, and what their girlfriend tells them to do.
ReplyDeleteI got to give this to gay groups: they are smart to have figured out how to manipulate and control the system. It is such a pity that so much brainpower was wasted on such an idiotic accomplishment.

ReplyDeleteAre you out there supporting a polygamists right to marry? Because if you're than you're a hypocrite. Either way, marriage wasn't created in America--it's rooted in thousands of years of Judeo-Christian history for men and women to marry and produce children. Besides the fact that homosexuality is an immoral lifestyle choice, the notion of gay marriage is nothing but an attempt to destroy marriage and mock/smear Christianity.
10 years ago, one would have wondered if this would ever become legal in NYC.
ReplyDeletePoor Dave the hobo, he now regrets his vote..

The person who said "First interracial marriage, now gay marriarage? OMG What's next?!!!?! "
ReplyDeleteI am an African American, when u talk as such u diminish the cause of the conservative party. I have children and I therefore understand the conservative movement goals to preserve the basic moral and principles of American society. Try not invoke race in such debate,by doing so u take away from the legitimacy of the conservative movement.
Also in order to fight this, we (conservatives) have to brand this law as GAYRIAGE vs MARIAGE . As a means to differentiate between the two. Check to see if the .com is available.
Wow...never thought about this.
ReplyDeleteGayriage is not Mariage.
I completely agree with the last post. GAYRIAGE is definitely not MARIAGE
ReplyDeletethey will destroy marriage if we let them define it. NY just passed their GAYRIAGE law, the people of America have not voted on redifining marriage (Mariage= Man+Woman).
Congratulations Gov. Cuomo on passing the GAYRIAGE law.
It's about time a state showed intelligence and guts and passed this law. Congratulations New York! Now, the rest of you can perhaps begin to crawl out from under your rocks and learn that gay people don't "choose" this lifestyle as you call it any more thatn people born with heart disease choose to have heart disease.
