Obama Dismisses War Casualties And Makes Joke About Predator Drones
But he displayed "comedic genious", that's all that matters.Everyone agrees that President Obama was funnier than Jay Leno at the White House Correspondents Association dinner on Saturday night. But this joke is inspiring some backlash:"Jonas Brothers are here, they're out there somewhere. Sasha and Malia are huge fans, but boys, don't get any ideas. Two words for you: predator drones. You will never see it coming. You think I'm joking?""You have to wonder why in the world the president's speech writers would think it was a good idea to throw a joke about predator drones into the president's speech during the White House Correspondent's Dinner, given that an estimated one-third of drone casualties, or between 289 and 378, have been civilians," wrote Adam Serwer at the American Prospect.
"Let's be honest, fellow progressives, we'd be all over Bush if he made the same 'predator drone' joke Obama told last night," Philadelphia Daily News' Will Bunch tweeted.
Drone attacks in Pakistan have killed hundreds of suspected insurgents since early 2009 -- but they have also killed civilians and stirred up animosity towards the U.S. in Pakistan.President Bush was pilloried for making light of the lack of WMDs in Iraq at the 2004 White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Obama Promotes Reading Radically-Left Huffington Post At Michigan U. Commencement Address
Conservatives are already aware of the very cozy relationship the Teleprompter-in-Chief has long had with the angry, radically-Left, blame-Bush-for-everything-wrong-with-the-planet Huffington Post, but this takes the cake. Dare anyone call him an "ideologue" after this."If you’re a fan of Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, try reading a few columns on the Huffington Post website."
So said President Barack Obama in his commencement address to the University of Michigan 2010 graduates Saturday.
"If we choose only to expose ourselves to opinions and viewpoints that are in line with our own, studies suggest that we will become more polarized, more set in our ways," ironically said the President.
"But if we choose to actively seek out information that challenges our assumptions and our beliefs, perhaps we can begin to understand where the people who disagree with us are coming from."

T-Shirt Vendor Saves Manhattan
Since I've been out of F/T work I rarely venture into Manhattan these days, but I do need any reason to go at all after this crap? Probably not. Free speech or no free speech, unless you got an army ready to go war behind you, you don't fuck with the Taliban...so yeah, let 'em have the "South Park" HQ's if they want it, I'll be resting easy in Brooklyn.Three heroic cops and a quick-thinking street vendor stopped a madman from detonating a car bomb in the heart of Times Square Saturday night, law enforcement officials told the Daily News.
"It looked like someone tried to detonate it and we got to it in time," a police source said. "This is a big deal. It has the makings of a real car bomb."
The federal government views the incident a "potential terrorist attack," Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday.
"We're taking this very seriously," Napolitano told CNN's "State of the Union" program. "We're treating it as if it could be a potential terrorist attack."
Cops evacuated and shut down the Times Square are Saturday night, but all streets were reopened by 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
The T-shirt vendor - a Vietnam vet - told Officer Wayne Rhatigan there was smoke coming from a Nissan SUV on the southwest corner of 45th St. and Broadway about 6:30 p.m., sources said.
Rhatigan approached the car, saw the smoke and sprang into action.
"I did a lap around the vehicle. The inside was smoking," Rhatigan told the Daily News. "I smelled gunpowder and knew it might blow. I thought it might blow any second."

Arizona Deputy Shot By Illegal Immigrant In Desert
Authorities have captured 17 suspected illegal immigrants in southern Arizona as they continued their manhunt Saturday for smugglers who they say shot and wounded a sheriff's deputy in a remote desert area 50 miles south of Phoenix.
Three of those captured overnight Friday matched descriptions from the wounded Pinal County deputy and were being questioned Saturday, sheriff's Lt. Tamatha Villar said. The deputy was released from the hospital, and was recovering at home.
The shooting came amid a growing national debate over the state's new law cracking down on illegal immigration. A backlash over the law has erupted, with civil rights activists, concerned it will lead to racial profiling, calling for protests and boycotts.
Criticism of the law was sure to figure prominently at dozens of immigrants rights marches and rallies planned for Saturday across the nation, including one set for the grounds of the Arizona state Capitol.
The new law's passage came amid increasing anger in Arizona about violence, drug smugglers and illegal immigration drop houses. The issue gained renewed attention a month ago when a southern Arizona rancher was shot and killed by a suspected illegal border crosser.
Where's the blame on the liberal press for inciting violence against Arizona law enforcemnt?

Ann Coulter Attacks Karl Rove, Rubio For Opposition To Arizona Immigration Law
Ann Coulter paid Juan Williams a visit on The O’Reilly Factor last night to discuss the two hottest topics in the news cycle: the Arizona immigration bill and the Goldman Sachs housing market scandal. On the former, she had some harsh words for fellow conservatives Karl Rove and Marco Rubio for attack it; on the latter, she blamed past Democratic abuses of power and claimed the proposed financial reform bill “looks like it was written by Hugo Chavez.”
Coulter defended the law against what she called “blatant, blatant lying” about the potential for racial profiling, and argued that “it’s not like Arizona is inventing this legal principle.” When asked about the reaction of many fellow consevatives, including Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio, Karl Rove, and Texas governor Rick Perry, Coulter said she was “upset”– especially at Rubio– and that she thought “they are responding to the nonsense that is being published out there. People get bullied into taking silly positions.”
This Week's Sign Of The Apocalypse: Grandmother In Love With Grandson And They're Having A Baby
Meet 72-year-old Pearl Carter of Indiana and her 26-year-old biological grandson Phil Bailey. Not only are they in love, but they're having a child together via a surrogate.
Pearl Carter is positively glowing with joy. She has a handsome new boyfriend, is enjoying an active sex life after many years of celibacy and, amazingly, is preparing to become a mother again.
But the retired grandmother isn't carrying the baby herself. She and her young lover have spent a staggering $54,000 hiring a surrogate to help them with their dreams of having a child.
What makes Pearl's decision to become a mum again even more shocking is that her new boyfriend is her biological grandson, 26-year-old Phil Bailey.
Phil is the son of Pearl's daughter Lynette Bailey, and the pair is braving public horror and even prison by breaking one of the last taboos – incest.
However, the pair makes no apologies for their controversial plan to start their own family.
'I'm not interested in anyone else's opinion,' Pearl says. 'I am in love with Phil and he's in love with me. Soon I'll be holding my son or daughter in my arms and Phil will be the proud dad'.
Phil adds, 'I love Pearl with all my heart. I've always been attracted to older women and I think Pearl is gorgeous. Now I'm going to be a dad and I can't wait.
'Yes, we get laughed at and bullied when we go out and kiss in public but we don't care. You can't help who you fall for.'
Pearl and Phil have been together since 2006. A year ago they decided to use Pearl's retirement money to hire a surrogate to carry their child. Pearl says, "I am finally going to be a mum and not forced to give up my child. Phil's going to be a great dad. I never in a million years thought at 72 I'd be "pregnant" and in love with my grandson. I make no apologies and I believe God's given me a second chance."
