Bill Maher On Tea Party: “Why Let The Truth Spoil A Perfectly Good Klan Rally”

Mediaite.com:
Bill Maher opened tonight’s show with a monologue focused on, what else? The Tax Day Tea Party protests held yesterday, across the country of course. The host of Real Time with Bill Maher chose to focus on the lowest form of critique: implying that all involved were racist. Hillarious! Judging by the reaction of the studio audience, at least some thought it was funny. Quick question – exactly who is guilty of race baiting again?

S.E. Cupp: Liberal Media Can't Deal with 'Pretty, Conservative Women'

Newsmax.com:
Commentator S.E. Cupp tells Newsmax that Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann come under constant attack because the liberal media can’t deal with “pretty, conservative women” who espouse traditional values.

Cupp also says Barack Obama has followed a “black liberation theology” that she calls an “extreme version of Christianity,” and describes why Christianity is under assault from the mainstream media.

Cupp is co-author of "Why You're Wrong About the Right." She has been published in the New York Daily News, Human Events, American Spectator, Townhall, and elsewhere, and is also a regular commentator on Fox News and a Newsmax contributor.

Her latest book is “Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity.”

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Cupp was asked why former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been such a lightning rod for the liberal media.

No Class Liberal Blog Huffington Post Takes Cheap Shot At Laura Bush

HuffingtonPost.com:

This is the Left at their worse. We all know that there will never be any end to bitter hatred for former President Bush, but for Arianna Huffington's smear blog to take a cheap shot at the former First Lady just shows that how truly unhinged they really are (to think, a quick scan of the comments section finds that many of HuffPo's own readers felt this piece was "uncalled" for). Of course, Arianna Huffington, who still goes around the news cable circuit whining about how supposed 'inciteful rhetoric' coming out of the mouths of conservative pundits, has been called out time and time again on how much of a hypocrite she is. But why should a former conservative woman who married a gay guy to become rich care about any of that when she can continue to exploit the Left's hate to fill her own filthy pockets.

Obama Gives Gay Couples Hospital Visiting Rights

CBS4.com:
President Barack Obama has issued an executive order that extends hospital visitation rights to same-sex partners. The President's order was apparently inspired in part by the case of a woman who fell into a coma at Miami's Ryder Trauma Center while her life partner was made to stay in a waiting room.

The order, quietly issued by the Obama administration while the President was visiting Miami Thursday, directs that hospitals that receive Medicare and Medicaid funds must allow visitation and health care decisions to be left to patients. Mr. Obama points out in his order that it does not exclusively benefit same-sex partners, but that gays and lesbians are "uniquely affected… often barred from the bedsides of the partners with whom they may have spent decades of their lives."
Newt Gingrich said it best: "Obama is most radical President ever."

New Jobless Claims 'Unexpectedly' Soar

YahooNews.com:

"Although our 2.5 percent estimate for annualized first-quarter real GDP growth still looks right, the U.S. economy appears to be headed for stronger growth in the second quarter," said Edward McKelvey, an economist with the bank.

But there was still plenty of slack in the labor market. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted 484,000 last week. A Labor Department official attributed the spike to a backlog in applications from the Easter holiday and saw no unusual economic factors.

The Obama Recession continues. Sigh.

Michael Bloomberg Ends Tax-Wasting, Union-Supported Teacher Rubber Rooms

AP.com:
The city and the teachers' union have worked out a deal to stop putting hundreds of teachers waiting for disciplinary hearings in "rubber rooms" and will close the centers this fall, two people familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Officially known as teacher-reassignment centers, the so-called rubber rooms are off-campus spaces where hundreds of teachers are paid their full salaries to do nothing while they await disciplinary hearings.

Two people familiar with the decision said Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration and the teachers' union were to announce the deal later Thursday. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made.

More than 600 teachers generally spend months or even years in the rubber rooms playing Scrabble, reading or surfing the Internet. The nickname refers to the padded cells of asylums, and teachers have said the name is fitting, since some of the inhabitants can become unstable.

The department has blamed union rules that make it difficult to fire teachers, but some teachers assigned to rubber rooms charge that they have been singled out because they blew the whistle on a principal who was fudging test scores.

Finally, Mayor Mike does something significant on his own, instead of just living off the progress made during the Giuliani Era.

Eliot Spitzer Spent $100,000 On One Call Girl Firm Alone

FOXNews.com:

Hooker-happy former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was using the services of the Emperors Club escort service starting in early 2006 -- when he was still state attorney general -- and doled out $100,000 on the firm's call girls, according to an upcoming Fortune magazine excerpt from Peter Elkind's "Rough Justice."

"He had been a customer of the Emperors Club for at least two full years and spent more than $100,000 on more than 20 appointments with perhaps 10 escorts in New York City, Washington, Dallas, Palm Beach and San Juan," Elkind, a Fortune editor-at-large, writes in the book.

The tome, excerpted in Fortune editions on sale Monday, claims Spitzer became an Emperors regular by mid-2007, but started using its services far earlier. He would pay extra to allow for flexibility on his schedule and rush in and out without any guards.

" 'He practically attacked me when he walked in the door,' one escort told her phone booker afterward. 'He was just ready,' " the book states.

Spitzer had several flings with an escort Elkind dubs "Angelina," who wasn't a fan of his approach. "It was very businesslike," Angelina told Elkind. "He was not one of those people who I would have said went out of their way to make me feel lovely and nice, like many did. It was very impersonal." The next time, she met [Spitzer] at the Waldorf-Astoria. "It was late at night. He rushed into the room with a baseball cap on, clearly trying not to be recognized, and wanting to get right to it," Elkind reports.

What a disgrace, any wonder MSNBC is welcoming him with open arms? Spitzer will fit right in with the rest of the trash there.

Federal Judge To Speed Through ObamaCare Challenge

Newsmax.com:

A federal judge in Florida says he wants to set a fast schedule for a lawsuit by at least 18 states aimed at overturning President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

But Senior U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson said Wednesday the case still could take months to make its way through his court. Hearings and filing deadlines in the case are slated into November.

Wednesday's scheduling hearing was the first court date in the case brought by Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and attorneys general or governors to stop the health care plan.

The states claim the federal government cannot force citizens to buy health insurance or force a mandate on states without providing money to pay for it.

Persnally I really don't have much of a problem with the final version of ObamaCare that got passed--it's pretty much the same as RomneyCare and overall even peeps in liberal Massachusetts were happy with that. It's the corrupt tactics used, how Barry's self-serving need to get his legacy stamped pushed him to make healthcare "reform" more of a priority than jobs and the insane hero-worship of Nancy Pelosi by the Left for getting ObamaCare passed that bothers me to no end.

Arizona Passes Strict Immigration Law

WSJ.com:

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation.

It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal.

The bill could still face a veto from Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. A spokesman for Ms. Brewer said she has not publicly commented on the bill. Ms. Brewer, a Republican, has argued for stringent immigration laws.

Under the measure, passed Tuesday by Arizona's lower house, after being passed earlier by the state Senate, foreign nationals are required to carry proof of legal residency.

Well, you just know Sheriff Joe Arpaio is gonna be happy about this.

Bill O’Reilly Takes Sen. Tom Coburn To The Woodshed For Criticizing Fox News

Mediaite.com:
Bill O'Reilly had Senator Tom Coburn on his show to address derisive comments he made last week towards Fox News. Coburn had told constituents upset with the recently passed health care reform that “the intention is not to put any one in jail. That makes for good TV news on FOX.” O’Reilly pushed back hard, insisting that nobody on FNC has ever said “you’re going to jail if you don’t buy health insurance” Well, he’s wrong.

Senator Coburn’s comments made some news when, particularly coming off similar comments from conservative David Frum, who claimed that “Fox News…has an interest In marginalizing the GOP.” At the time we asked if this was the start of a larger trend of GOP officials distancing themselves from Fox News.

Well not only has that not become a trend, but Coburn was effectively taken to the wood shed for his comments by Bill O’Reilly. The civil discussion was spirited at times, but O’Reilly’s primary point was that nobody on Fox News has claimed that not following health care would result in prison time:

“We researched to find if anyone on Fox News ever said you’re going to jail if you don’t buy health insurance…nobody’s ever said it…so it seems to be what you did was you used Fox News as a whipping boy when we didn’t qualify there.”

Norah O'Donnell & Racist 3-Pointers: When White Liberals Project Their Own Assumptions

Barack Obama BOWS DOWN To Chinese President

TheCypressTimes.com:

Barack Obama bowed when shaking hands with Hu Jintao, the president of communist China yesterday at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C. To bow before someone is to give that person honor. It is an act of reverence, an act of submission.

Can you get a complete picture of this? The President of the United States of America, a nation whose name was once synonymous with “Freedom” and the defense of “Human Rights” bows, while standing in his own capitol city, before the leader of the largest communist nation on the planet, a country that is constantly guilty of atrocities against its own people, and the oppression of religious freedom, freedom of speech, and the list goes on and on to include some of the worst racial discrimination in history in Tibet.

Our president seems to have decided to abandon everything that this nation once stood for that was considered by the people of our country to be good or decent. Mr. Obama has apologized for this country ad nauseum since becoming our fearless leader. Mr. Obama must have a special chiropractor on hand to make sure his spine is plenty flexible when about to meet with a dictator, or head of a communist regime. Got to make those bows really count.

Yet, Mr. Obama refused to even have his photograph taken with Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu recently in Washing ton D.C.
The Amateur-in-Chief will just never get how humiliating it is for the leader of our country to keep bowing down to foreign leaders (and let's not forget mayors of Tampa). No other leader of a country goes around doing this stuff and every time Barry bows down, our standing around the world just takes a shot, but what does he care?

Gay Marriage Fails To Get On California Ballot

Reuters.com:
A challenge to California's gay marriage ban failed on Monday to qualify for the 2010 ballot, leaving gay activists mulling a 2012 push and hoping a federal court will overturn the measure before then.

Los Angeles-based Love Honor Cherish carried out a volunteer-driven signature-gathering effort after large groups decided there was not enough time to ensure victory this year, even with some polls showing more than 50 percent support for same-sex marriage.

A 150-day period to gather signatures to place the question on the ballot ended on Monday.

Courts and state legislatures have legalized same-sex marriage in five U.S. states and the District of Columbia, but popular votes have always rejected such unions, which are illegal in the vast majority of U.S. states.

California voters in November 2008 ended a summer of court-allowed gay marriage by enacting a ban on same-sex unions by a 52 to 48 percent vote. The move by the trend-setting state enthused social conservatives and stunned lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender supporters nationwide.

A San Francisco federal court now is weighing whether the U.S. Constitution prohibits Proposition 8, which defined marriage as a union of a man and a woman. That battle is expected to be appealed up to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Good.

Planned Parenthood Pamphlet Opposes Informing Partners Of HIV

CNSNews.com:
In a guide for young people published by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the organization says it opposes laws that make it a crime for people not to tell sexual partners they have HIV. The IPPF's “Healthy, Happy and Hot” guide also tells young people who have the virus that they have a right to “fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives.”

HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.

“Some countries have laws that say people living with HIV must tell their sexual partner(s) about their status before having sex, even if they use condoms or only engage in sexual activity with a low risk of giving HIV to someone else,” the
guide states. “These laws violate the rights of people living with HIV by forcing them to disclose or face the possibility of criminal charges.”

Under the heading “Sexual Pleasure and Well-Being,” the guide declares that it is a human right and not a criminal issue as to whether a person decides if or when to disclose their HIV status, even if they engage in sexual activities.

“You know best when it is safe for you to disclose your status,” the guide states. “There are many reasons that people do not share their HIV status. They may not want people to know they are living with HIV because of the stigma and discrimination within their community.”
This is just sick. Most countries around the world have laws that say that people who suffer from AIDS or HIV must disclose this fact to their sex partners--now that has to be common sense for even the most fringe idiot on the Left, you would think. Amazing that so few can see how these people are really doing all they can to bring Armageddon here asap.

National Enquirer Could Win Pulitzer For Reporting On John Edwards Affair

CNN.com:
Enquiring minds want to know: Will The National Enquirer win a Pulitzer Prize?

It could happen.

On Monday afternoon, print journalism's highest honors will be announced, and among the candidates for investigative and national news reporting prizes is that bastion of supermarket check-out lanes, home of Elvis and Roseanne, The National Enquirer. It's being considered for its work breaking the John Edwards sex scandal, a story it followed when much of the so-called "mainstream media" was looking the other way.

The Pulitzer committee originally questioned the Enquirer's submission because of a dispute over whether it was a "newspaper" or "magazine" -- magazines can't enter. With the Enquirer -- whose paid circulation is just under 800,000 as of the end of 2009 -- now in the running, the paper's executive editor, Barry Levine, said winning would be an honor.

"It helps our credibility around the world," says Levine.
Wow. An Enquirer win would not only give the notorious gossip rag some credibility, but it would serve as a huge sleight to a liberal media that conspired to look the other way despite rumors circulating that a then-Presidential candidate was cheating on his cancer-stricken wife. The lamestream print media wonders why they're rapidly going out of business? Look no further than readers no longer buying their left-leaning, partisan spin on news and current events (the same reason why television FOX remains way ahead of the rest of the pack). Every noteworthy newspaper and newsmagazine around the country had a responsibility to be on top of the word going around that John Edwards was a liar, con artist and a cheater, but instead theliberal elites in the press smugly dismissed the allegations and the Enquirer took advantage. Now after Edwards has been forced to admit the truth, been publicly humiliated and what with Elizabeth Edwards filing for divorce--damn right the Pulitzer belongs to the National Enquirer. Good for them.

MSNBC Reporter Norah O'Donnell's EPIC FAIL At Playing Race Card

NewsBusters.org:
MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Friday went too far for even her colleagues at the liberal cable channel, receiving mockery for her assertion that Newt Gingrich made racially charged remarks about Barack Obama. At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Thursday, the former House Speaker commented that “shooting three-point shots may be clever, but it doesn’t put anybody to work.”

Speaking of the President’s basketball skills, Gingrich continued: "What we need is a President, not an athlete. We need somebody who actually focuses on getting people back to work.” After the clip was played, Morning Joe guest host O’Donnell lobbed her accusation at Gingrich:

But I’m not sure what he means by this particular soundbite and I think it’s open to some criticism because it suggests that the President is an athlete and some people may suggest, you know, because all black people are good athletes. I mean that’s what it sort of sounds like to me.

The rest of the Morning Joe panel scoffed at O’Donnell’s claim, erupting in a flurry of dismissiveness.

“Oh, I didn’t see that at all,” claimed Guthrie.

“I didn’t get that (impression),” asserted Barnicle.

“That went right by me!” proclaimed Pat Buchanan, laughing.

While the rest of panel laughed it off, O’Donnell pressed on with her criticism, asking, “Well what’s this suggestion about him playing basketball? That he’s not doing his job?”

But the panel continued to ignore O’Donnell, electing instead to joke about Obama’s athletic abilities.

“You can easily disprove that President Obama is an athlete by showing his first pitch,” sneered Barnicle. “You can show that clip. He is not an athlete.”

“You can show him at the bowling alley in Pennsylvania!” suggested Buchanan.
No doubt her mentor Krazy Keith would be disappointed at this lame attempt to paint Gingrich as "RACIST!" Back to Race Card School Norah.

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour: Obama, Congress 'The Most Liberal' Ever

CNN.com:
As Washington girds itself for another Supreme Court confirmation battle, a prominent Republican is predicting that President Obama will use his second high court pick to try to push the court in as liberal a direction as possible – in a reflection of Democrats’ liberal tendencies.

Associate Justice John Paul Stevens announced Friday that he intends to step down later this year, stirring speculation about who Obama will appoint during a midterm election year when Democrats already appear to be facing a challenging political environment.

“The president’s going to appoint a liberal successor to Justice Stevens whose one of the most liberal members of the Supreme Court,” Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union.

Barbour added that he thought Obama is going to “appoint the most liberal person that he can and he thinks he can get confirmed. And that, that person will be a liberal. That’s just a fact.”

The former RNC chairman and current chairman of the Republican Governors Association told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley that the upcoming Supreme Court confirmation process will affect November’s midterm elections by reminding the public where Obama and the Democratically-controlled Congress sit on the political spectrum.

Bringing truth to light. I'm liking this guy.

Glenn Beck: Obama Should Pick A "Gay Handicapped Black Woman Who's An Immigrant" For SCOTUS

RawStory.com:
Popular conservative talk show host Glenn Beck made his predictions Saturday for the kind of judge President Obama will nominate to replace Supreme Court Justice Stevens, who announced Friday that he will retire.

Whoever the president chooses, Beck said on his radio show, Americans can be sure it will be someone hand-picked to stymie opposition through political correctness.

"It will allow the Democrats to say they just hate women, they just hate Hispanics, they just hate a black, they just hate whatever. That's what it will be," Beck said. "I mean if he's smart, he will find a gay, handicapped black woman who's an immigrant. She could be the devil. She could say 'I hate America. I want to destroy America,' and that way they'll only be able to say 'Why do you hate gay immigrant black handicapped women?'"

Stevens' announcement of retirement means Obama must choose a second Supreme Court justice within his first two years in office. His last selection, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, ignited a prolonged battle with Republicans. This time, Obama must get a nominee confirmed in the middle of an election season and with possibly even more opposition.

Beck was quick to claim Obama would appoint another "radical" like Justice Sotomayor.

Of course, when you think about the fact that Barry himself said he was looking for a judge with "empathy" before picked Sonia Sotomayor for the last SCOTUS vacancy, Beck makes a fair (and funny) point. But for the Left any chance of constructively debating Beck's creed on political correctness run amuck will get drowned out with cries of "RACIST!"...hey look! They've already started.
