Barack Obama Finally Sounds Like A President

CNN.com:
President Obama outlined Thursday the intelligence and other government failures leading up to the botched December 25 terror bombing of a U.S.-bound jetliner.

The president also detailed a series of major reforms ordered in the wake of the attack.

"I will hold my staff, our agencies and the people in them accountable when they fail to perform their responsibilities at the highest levels," Obama said at the White House.

But "ultimately, the buck stops with me."

America's first line of defense against terrorism is "timely, accurate" intelligence that is properly integrated, Obama said. "That's not what happened" before the attack, he noted.

All business. No nonsense. Dispensing words calling for the need for action, even threw in a "the buck stops with me" (kudos to Harry Truman). That's the kind of leadership we need to see from our President and Barry finally displayed it tonight. I don't want to see my President trying to make lame jokes on late-night talk shows. Nor should he be giving "shout outs" before all-important speeches, much less acting like it's a hassle when one of his all-important golf games are interrupted by business concerning the American people. And while no one's asking for sweat, blood or tears, the low-key, dirt-off-my-shoulders approach is not the right way for the leader of the free world to react to crisis', especially when it comes to the war on terror. Tonight Obama was serious, crisp and to the point. Tonight he took the reins and made it clear that him and his administration are responsible for Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and every other wannabe terrorist wanton to take out innocent American lives. Not Bush. Not Cheney. Barack Obama. We need action, not excuses and tonight Barry made me feel a little safer.

Gay Marriage Defeated In New Jersey Senate, Jon Corzine Can Get Lost Now

NYTimes.com:
New Jersey's state Senate on Thursday defeated a bill that would have legalized same-sex marriage, a move that likely puts the measure on the back burner for several years.

The state Senate, after an afternoon of debate, voted 20 to 14 against the bill. Backers of the bill had hoped to get it approved and signed into law before Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine, a supporter, leaves office on January 19.

Another victory for the sanctity of marriage which the majority of Americans have made clear should stay between a man and a woman.

Hanes Drops Charlie Sheen From Advertisements

Forbes.com:
Hanesbrands has ended its advertising campaign featuring Charlie Sheen because of domestic violence charges filed against the actor, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Spokesman Matt Hall said the seriousness of the allegations against the 44-year-old actor made the decision necessary.

"It's a pretty standard, straightforward call when somebody who's in your commercials is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude," Hall said. "And we would suspend the ads both for the company and, really, for Mr. Sheen and his family as well. Given the publicity, it makes sense to not air those ads during that time."

Hall said the television ads were stopped effective Dec. 28, the first business day after Sheen was arrested. He said some print ads will continue to appear into the spring.

"Unfortunately, the production schedule of those publications do not allow us to pull those ads," Hall said.

The "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested in Aspen, Colo., on Christmas Day on charges including felony menacing and domestic violence. His wife Brooke Sheen told police he put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Sheen denies the allegations.

Good for Hanes. If advertisers can drop Tiger Woods for being an adulterer, than Charlie Sheen should get dropped for being a complete a-hole who beats women.

Chris Matthews, Host At All-White Network MSNBC, Accuses Teabaggers Of Being 'All-White'

Medialite.com:
A big story for the coming year is not just the mid-term election, but how the growing Tea Party movement will affect the elections. MSNBC host Chris Matthews did his best to explore this issue, but revealed more about both his ignorance on the matter and his bias towards the group (derisively referring to them as “teabaggers.”) Of course, he was likely speaking in hyperbole – but that doesn’t make it less insensitive to those who are a part of the Tea Party movement.

Text of the discussion (h/t Newsbusters:)

McKinnon: they are the movement — movements are about people that are angry at the institution and the establishment. so, yes, they’re republicans. they’re people who are out of power, they’re unhappy and the t.e.a. party’s become the vessel through which they’re fueling their anger.

Matthews: And they’re monochromatic right?

McKinnon: Well I don’t know that they’re monochromatic?

Matthews: They’re not? Every picture I see shows them to be.

McKinnon: Well there’s a lot of people out there that cuts across a lot of demographics who feel disenfranchised.

Matthews: But not that other demographic.

McKinnon: The other demographic?

Matthews: Meaning they’re all white. All of them, every single one of them is white.

McKinnon: I think that’s, I think that’s a fair characterization, predominately.

Matthews: Yeah well what’s tha about?

White liberals love for playing the race card isn't anything new. Indeed, whether it's global warming, health care or "gay rights", white liberals fondness for reaching for the race card when they're promoting their radically leftist agenda (that has little, if anything to do with helping blacks) has been going on for decades now (meanwhile, black liberals sit by and do nothing while their white brethren play them for fools). But then if Chris Matthews were that concerned about race, why doesn't it seem to bother him when he looks around at all the "white" faces at his own network (the ones on air Chris, not the ones in the mailroom)? Better yet, what does Matthews have to say about the brewing concern, that even black liberals have begun to express out loud, concerning Barry's lack of addressing the Black community's needs and and wants? I mean they did vote overwhelmingly for the man in the last election. C'mon Chris, doesn't that deserve some attention at your lily-white network?

Andrew Brietbart: Obama Took a Surfboard Accident With a Kid More Seriously Than Underwear Bomber

Scandal Plagued Democrat Senator Christopher Dodd To Retire

NYTimes.com:
Senator Christopher J. Dodd, the embattled Connecticut Democrat who was facing an increasingly tough bid for a sixth term in the Senate, has decided to step aside and not seek re-election, Democrats familiar with his plans said Wednesday.

Mr. Dodd, 65, will announce his decision at a news conference later in the day in Connecticut.

The decision came a day after another Democratic senator, Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, said that he would not seek re-election this November. The developments underscored the fragility of the Democrats’ 60-vote Senate majority, enough to block Republican filibusters. Democratic incumbents also face serious challenges in Arkansas, Colorado, Nevada and Pennsylvania among other states.

In this case, Mr. Dodd was already considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats facing re-election this November, and party officials had been privately hoping he would step aside. His move opens the way for the state’s highly popular attorney general, Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, to run. Democrats and Republicans said he would be a much stronger candidate in what is a Democratic state.

Mr. Dodd’s decision was first reported by The Washington Post, and later confirmed by his associates. As of early Wednesday morning, Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, had not heard from Mr. Dodd about his decision, according to aides to Mr. Reid.

Mr. Dodd has been a fixture in the Senate since his election in 1980. But his standing in his state had been on the decline starting when he made an unsuccessful run for the presidency in 2008 — moving his family to Iowa — and amid questions about a disputed loan he took from Countrywide Financial, the fallen subprime company. Mr. Dodd has been the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee during the economic meltdown.

Over the last two years, Mr. Dodd has played a prominent role in responding to the financial crisis as the chairman of the Senate banking committee. He proposed a financial overhaul on Nov. 10 that included consolidating bank regulators, creating a consumer financial protection agency and imposing new restraints on exotic financial instruments and credit rating agencies.

Thanks to the ineptitude of the Obama administration 2010 should be a huge year for Republicans, despite what Michael Steele thinks. Dodd, a huge contributor to our present-day financial mess. knew that he didn't have a snowball's chance of getting re-elected so he took the coward's way out.

C-Span Begs Obama, Democrats To Be More Transparent

NYTimes.com:

C-Span has asked Democratic leaders to open their negotiations on a final health care bill to live television coverage. But despite promises of transparency, Democratic leaders may be reluctant to agree.

Brian Lamb, the chief executive of C-Span, made the request in a letter to Congressional leaders on Dec. 30. He released the letter on Tuesday after it appeared on Politico.com, a political news Web site.

“President Obama, Senate and House leaders, many of your rank-and-file members, and the nation’s editorial pages have all talked about the value of transparent discussions on reforming the nation’s health care system,” Mr. Lamb wrote.

“Now that the process moves to the critical stage of reconciliation between the Chambers,” he added, “we respectfully request that you allow the public full access, through television, to legislation that will affect the lives of every single American.”

The House and Senate are preparing to abandon the traditional approach of melding their health care bills in a conference committee, which would allow for some floor debate — and television coverage.

They'll do whatever it takes to fulfill Barry's "legacy", even going so far as to break promises they made to the American people.

Defeated Gov. Jon Corzine Attempting To Sneak In Gay Marriage Before Leaving New Jersey

NBCNewYork.com:

There will in fact be a vote on gay marriage in the lame duck session of the New Jersey state legislature on Thursday, NBCNewYork.com has learned.

"We're gonna post the bill and see what happens," Senate President Dick Codey told us.

Codey, and even sponsors of same sex marriage legislation are skeptical if there are enough votes to pass in the State Senate.

For days now, Codey has been weighing whether or not to allow a vote in the waning days of this session, which ends next Monday.

"The members for the most part said go ahead and post it," Codey explained in coming to his decision, while acknowledging there was a minority of his fellow democrats who urged him not to bring it to a vote.

Codey said he will post it for debate and a vote Thursday afternoon.

The leading advocate for same sex marriage, Steve goldstein of Garden State Equality, said he looks forward to the debate.

"Senator Codey is a great supporter of equality and at least he kept his commitment to our community," Goldstein said, referring to the defections of several senators who Goldstein said had promised to support gay marriage, but then changed their minds after the November election.

A lead opponent of the bill, John Tomicki, president of the New Jersey Coalition to Protect and Preserve Marriage, doesn't believe same sex marriage can pass.

"The votes aren't there," said Tomicki, though he quickly added, "what they should be doing is let the people decide the issue," referring to his preference for a public referendum.

In recent years, some three dozen states have asked voters to decide the issue, and gay marriage has lost every time.

If the bill does pass the State Senate, it would go to the Assembly which would also have to debate, and then hold a final vote on Monday, the last day of the session.

Outgoing Governor Jon Corzine has said repeatedly that he would sign it into law if it passes. Incoming Governor Chris Christie, who takes the oath of office January 19th, has said just as many times that he would veto it if it ever gets to his desk.

It's the only way the Left can get 'gay marriage' passed in this country. Americans have made it clear time and time again where they stand on the sanctity of marriage, yet the morally bankrupt loons and their special-interest partners continue to search for activist judges and/or enough liberal loons in their local Congress to ignore the will of the people. Jon Corzine, just defeated in his bid for re-election, is a coward for allowing the New Jersey congress to vote on this measure.

Democrats To Bypass GOP On Health Care

Newsmax.com:

House and Senate Democrats intend to bypass traditional procedures when they negotiate a final compromise on health care legislation, officials said Monday, a move that will exclude Republican lawmakers and reduce their ability to delay or force politically troubling votes in both houses.

The unofficial timetable calls for final passage of the measure to remake the nation's health care system by the time President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address, probably in early February.

Democratic aides said the final compromise talks would essentially be a three-way negotiation involving top Democrats in the House and Senate and the White House, a structure that gives unusual latitude to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

These officials said there are no plans to appoint a formal House-Senate conference committee, the method Congress most often uses to reconcile differing bills. Under that customary format, a committee chairman is appointed to preside, and other senior lawmakers from both parties and houses participate in typically perfunctory public meetings while the meaningful negotiations occur behind closed doors.

In this case, the plan is to skip the formal meetings, reach an agreement, then have the two houses vote as quickly as possible. A 60-vote Senate majority would be required in advance of final passage.

"I look forward to working with members of the House, the Senate and President Obama to reconcile our bills and send the final legislation to the president's desk as soon as possible," Pelosi said late last year as the Senate approved its version of the legislation.

"We hope to get a bill done as soon as possible," said Jim Manley, a spokesman for Reid.

The issue is so partisan that only one Republican, Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao of Louisiana, has cast a vote in favor of the legislation.

So much for all that BS Barry campaigned about attempting to reach across the aisle while President.

Brit Hume: Tiger Woods Must Become Christian To Be Forgiven

Suggesting an admitted adulterer give Christianity a try? Whew! Brit stepped in it bigtime with that one as the immoral, un-Godly cretins on the Left (along with noted "conservative" Andrew Sullivan) are giving it to him now.

Liberal Sportswriter Mike Lupica Still Blames Dick Cheney For Everything Wrong With Planet

Hate to give this loon any more attention than half-baked ego already gets from the NY Daily News, but considering it's my local paper and this Lupica's political columns (which are nothing but idiot rants drenched in Bush Derangement Syndrome) gets Page 6 features every Monday, sometimes you're just left with no choice but to call out the sheer lunacy:

As usual it starts with a has-been like Dick Cheney acting as if that war is some party issue, as if the country is somehow more vulnerable to fanatics because Democrats have the White House and the Congress, as if all those who hate America and want to kill Americans see this tremendous opening to do that because Barack Obama is in charge now.

The idea is dumber than that television show about the Jersey Shore.

Still there was Cheney - who once was able to hide almost as well as Osama Bin Laden - out in front after a failed attempt to blow up a Northwest airplane on its way into Detroit on Christmas Day, like he wanted to be the first Obama hater to take his swings.

Only Cheney looks at a near tragedy on Christmas and sees opportunity. When he does, he doesn't just sound like some old crank in the park. He sounds like a bum.

But then partisan attacks like this are the real national pastime now in American politics, why we seem unable to get out of our own way even on the big things, why the constant war of words between the left and the right can somehow trivialize the most crucial issues of a world that becomes less safe by the day.

So Dick Cheney, who finished his second term as VP just last year, is now a "has-been"?!? Funny how that works. With that kind of logic, what's Al Gore then? Of course we know that Gore, last a VP some 9 years ago, can still go around the world, use his influence as a former-VP to get on cable news networks and continue milking billions from yahoos with deep pockets for his self-righteous global warming scam (that he still refuses to debate anyone about), but Dick Cheney, a private citizen now, is supposed to STFU about the war on terror? Double standards much, Mike? But then when you're talking about Lupica, you're talking about an egocentric, far-Left loon whose been taking snide shots at conservatives and the Right for years now. I've seen Lupica in person, the guy is literally...short, so it wouldn't surprise if he suffered from some kind of Napoleon-complex (on top of his obvious BDS) too. But really, if you're going to be a Bush/Cheney-hater (even in 2010), and you're going to write a column complaining about partisan politics, at least have the balls to admit that you've been nothing but way beyond partisan yourself. In other words the same theatrics you now pretend to hate, you've been contributing to yourself for years now. Hypocrite much, Mike?

Black Parent Upset With Teacher For Breaking Up Fight Her Daughter Started

How convenient. No doubt this parent will play the race card, get a lawyer and sue the teacher, the school, the school district and anyone else she can find even though the tape clearly shows that after the teachers got involved and broke the fight up, her daughter still went after the white girl attempting to throw some more blows. I swear in the Obama Age, Black folks have gotten way more comfortable pointing fingers at everyone but themselves.

Danish Newspaper Politiken Says 'Obama Greater Than Jesus'

Examiner.com:
Danish newspaper Politiken is running a print story that seems right ‘for such a time as this.’ The editorial opines that the first black American president is so socially connected and able to empathize with all peoples, that he is desirably deific by nature - in not so few words - magnifying his holiness as “greater than Jesus.”

The writer is so convinced that the preeminent presidential pontiff is “the practical Saviour of our times,” his opinion piece showers the honorable Barack Hussein Obama with amorous affection and attributes that are quite literally - of Biblical proportion.

Proclaiming Obama’s proclivity for peace, in awe of his ornamental oratorical ability and wisdom, touting his humble beginnings and defense of the weak and vulnerable because of his ability to identify with them, the author could possibly be preparing his own gospel of the Obama (ante)Christ.

The writer postulates that though it may be seen as blasphemous to make such comparisons, it is also hilarious since, clearly, Barack would win hands down:

“ ‘If such a comparison were to be made, it would, of course, inevitably be to Obama’s advantage.’ “

While there is much portended in a prophetic posture with regard to the love-fest surrounding his historically remarkable presidency, the nations of the world had better be careful what they wish for. It seems to the writer of this article that if Satan were to ascend to the highest mountain with BHO in tow, and say, “bow down and worship me and all of this will be yours to rule and reign,” unlike Jesus Christ, Mr. Obama would likely bow-down on his Islamic prayer rug, wash the feet of the fallen angel and arise, rolling up his narcissistic sleeves and pronounce his latest mantra to the world…”Yes I will!”

In light of the current global ecological, economic, socio-religious, ethnic, cultural and political imbalance which has this earth teetering on the brink of spiritual and moral collapse - unlike any other political figure in history - more and more Mr. Obama is being exalted socially, his throne established higher, and his power exponentially increasing…maybe the President shouldn’t read the Danish op-ed piece. It just might go to his horn…er, head.

Obama Links Al Qaeda To Flight Terror Plot

CNN.com:
President Obama on Saturday linked the man accused in a botched Christmas Day airline bombing to an al Qaeda affiliate based in Yemen.

The president pledged that everyone involved in the attack would be held accountable. He also highlighted his administration's attempts to crack down on extremist enclaves in Yemen, and reiterated his longstanding promise to "disrupt, dismantle and defeat" al Qaeda.

Obama has been criticized by some political opponents for not responding more aggressively to a botched December 25 attempt to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet en route from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan.

Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab is accused of trying to ignite explosives smuggled aboard the plane in his underwear. Obama confirmed Saturday that AbdulMutallab, 23, recently traveled to Yemen and "it appears that he joined an affiliate of al Qaeda."

Nice of Barry to get around acknowledging something that Al Qaeda told us already like a week ago. Good move too by Barry to do something Joe Lieberman passionately suggested already: target militants in Yemen. Barry and his leftists minions may have a hard time acknowledging it, but now only are we at war, but Barry's gonna have to get his George W. Bush-groove on in order to continue keeping Americans safe.

Birth Mother Must Give Child to Her Former Lesbian Partner, Vermont Judge Rules

ABCNews.com:

A Virginia woman who has been missing for more than a month with her daughter violated court orders to return her 7-year--old to her former lesbian partner today.

Lisa Miller, 41, of Winchester, Va., was ordered by a Vermont family court judge in November to hand over her daughter Isabella by 1 p.m. to Janet Jenkins , 45, of Fairhaven, Vt.

But according to Jenkins' lawyer, Miller failed to show up.

"Janet is quite distressed and she notified the police," said Sarah Star, Jenkins' Vermont lawyer. "She is concerned about Isabella's safety and Ms. Miller's mental stability."

Virginia's Fairfax County Police said they would await a court-ordered arrest warrant before offering to assist in the search for Miller, who was last heard from on a Dec. 4 Facebook posting.

The child is at the center of a landmark custody battle between two women she calls "Mommy," the first case to address same-sex unions when the parents cross state lines.

Miller and Jenkins were married in a civil union ceremony in Vermont in 2000. They split in 2004 when Isabella was 17 months old.

What this news report fails to acknowledge is that Lisa Miller saw the sin in her ways, came to find God and renounced homosexuality some years back. Ms. Miller doesn't seem to be suffering from problems regarding "mental stability" so much as she's most likely angry that a liberal judge has decided to take away the child that she gave birth to in order to be placed with a woman who continues to live an abhorrent, morally corrupt, un-Godly lifestyle. Conservatives regard this decision as child endangerment, while liberals no doubt only choose to see it through the scope of Ms. Jenkins "civil rights" being protected. But then for the Left it's never about what's best for the child.

Rush Limbaugh Lives, Liberals Angry

Like night follows day some of the Left aren't happy with this news:
Rush Limbaugh underwent a medical exam on Thursday after being rushed to a hospital on Wednesday complaining of chest pains.

"Walter Williams, the guest host on Limbaugh's radio show Thursday, told listeners that Limbaugh 'continues to rest very comfortably' at a hospital in Honolulu," reports nydailynews.com.

Since initial reports of Limbaugh's health, reaction from some of his detractors has been pretty pointed. Rob Kall at opednews.com wrote: "I'm a little embarassed to say that when the news alert flashed on my iPhone, I thought how nice it would be if the man (actually, I used an expletive relating to his mother) dropped dead...But is it hateful and intolerant for me to want him to die? Maybe it is. So be it."

A softer opinion was expressed by Rochelle Riley at freep.com who wrote: "People have been wishing that a loudmouth who's free to speak would die...[but]...To have America means having the Rush Limbaughs of the world. Stop wishing death on democracy."

Someone visiting Limbaugh's page at Wikipedia even prematurely declared the talk show host dead. His Wikipedia status has since been change back to "alive".

It's not easy being the #1 Conservative talk show host in America.

Former KKK Leader Ordained As A Minister For A Black Church In San Diego

No doubt the minute Barry and his minions get a hold of this I'm sure they'll take credit for it.
