One would've thought by now that actor Danny Glover, a longtime, outspoken liberal activist who has openly supported Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, campaigned for John Edwards '08 presidential run and once called George W. Bush a "racist," would've spoken up by now on his former "Lethal Weapon" series co-star Mel Gibson's racist rant against his ex-girlfriend, but so far all we've gotten are crickets. Funny that.

As a black female that was in LOVE with Mel Gibson, his n****r comment has been very shocking, hurtful and disappointing. I thought he was a "better than that" white man. I am also disappointed by Mel Gibson's behavior and stopped being a fan some time back, as a result of his behavior. But since this behavior seems to have arisen out of the blue, I'm wondering if anybody is questioning mental health in his family. Seriously. To have him take such a 180 in his behavior (starting with the antisemitism) is just... weird.

I wasn't aware of remarks he'd made against the gay community... only knew about his antisemitic remarks and his recent stupidity. So apparently this goes back further than I was aware and isn't so much a sudden aberration as an escalation in failing to hide his true feelings and thoughts. I guess I just like to think actors actually believe in the roles they choose to play, ie portraying a hero for the oppressed masses. I guess that's the point. It's all just an act.
