Hillary Clinton Tells Ecuador TV Station That Obama Will Sue Arizona Illegal Immigration Law

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Thursday she's angry over comments by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton that the Obama administration will sue the state over its new immigration law.

In a June 8 media interview in Ecuador that began circulating Thursday in the U.S., Clinton said President Barack Obama thinks the federal government should determine immigration policy and that the Justice Department "will be bringing a lawsuit against the act."

Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler on Thursday declined to say whether the department would sue and that "the department continues to review the law."

The department has been looking at the law for weeks for possible civil rights violations, with an eye toward a possible court challenge.

It's unclear why Clinton made the comment since it's not her area. She couldn't be reached Thursday for comment.
Yes, that's where the irony begins: why would Billary overstep her bounds and make an announcement like this (to a foreign media outlet no less) when Barry just told Jan Brewer to her face that he'd leave it to Eric Holder and the DOJ to decide whether or not to sue Arizona's SB1070 law? Then too what business is it for the Secretary of State to get involved here, like she doesn't have enough international matters to concern herself with?

Could Billary be trying to undermine The One, esp. while his poll numbers hit record lows thanks in part to his inept handling of the BP mess? Brewer has every right to be pissed considering she just met with Barry face-to-face 2 weeks ago, but one would think that even if Billary was getting pressure from her idiot camp to cripple Barry at his weakest and possibly position herself for a run in 2012, she'd be smart enough to know that it makes her look bad, esp. to many the Barry worshippers still out there. But then when it comes to Billary, I wouldn't put anything pass her.
