During a web-only interview with CBS's Katie Couric to promote her new role on "American Idol," comedienne Ellen DeGeneres went on a rant about our sexist culture that demands women look more attractive than men.Do liberal celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres ever think before they talk? I mean, with this being the YouTube age, you'd think she'd be a tad, bit smart enough to realize that she sound just a little hypocritical here. There's just one problem: DeGeneres is the face of Proctor and Gamble's famous makeup line CoverGirl. In fact, she even appeared in a well known commercial saying, "Inner beauty is important -- but not nearly as important as outer beauty."
Too bad a serious journalist like Couric didn't think to ask if DeGeneres's fans might get confused. Then again, The Perky One would have had to confront her own complicity in flouting short skirts on network news programs and giving condescending interviews to women like Sarah Palin.
Without regard to the obvious hypocrisy, Couric teed up the subject by asking if DeGeneres was concerned for women who "are so obsessed and worried and spend so much time thinking about their bodies." DeGeneres used the question to accuse American culture of a sexist double standard.

It's not gonna be a liberal or conservative matter anymore as more people are gonna get sick of these annoying propagandist TV caricatures. Her whole damn show is about Hypocricy.
ReplyDeleteI used to like her until I caught on to how hypocritical she (and the majority of other celebs, for that matter) can be when it suits her purpose.
ReplyDeleteEllen is also a vegan and outspoken animal rights activist ... yet, she's a Cover Girl endorser ... which makes zero sense since Cover Girl is owned by Proctor & Gamble, a company that ruthlessly tests its products on animals.
People have cut her some slack by postulating that she might not have known about CG's track record for animal testing before signing on as a spokeswoman. Umm, are celebs really THAT dumb?! We live in the age of the Internet, where you can find ANYTHING and EVERYTHING online. Plus, she's a freakin' celeb. She could have had one of her minions do a little research on CG before she signed on.
But then again, the dollar speaks so much louder than one's morals.
More so than the hypocrisy is the fact that she's a narcissist! In her world she's right and everyone else is wrong. Narcissists are never introspective or will ever entertain the prospect that they could be obviously hypocritical. Degeneres loves to call people sexists, bigots, and homophobes while on the other side of her mouth she's judging everyone who disagrees with her. Typical brain dead liberal!
