Monica Lewinsky believes Bill Clinton lied to a federal grand jury about their affair, a new book on the Clinton scandals says.

Politico.com reported yesterday the White House intern whose Oval Office trysting nearly brought down the 42ndPresident made that assertion to Duquesne University law professor Ken Gormley. His 769-page analysis of Monicagate, "The Death of American Virtue," will be published in February.

"There was no leeway on the veracity of his statements because they asked him detailed and specific questions to which he answered untruthfully," Lewinsky wrote the author.

The book reportedly offers unflattering portrayals of Clinton and his chief nemesis, independent counsel Kenneth Starr.

Clinton, who was impeached in 1998 but not thrown out of office, boasted to the author that he beat his "disgraced" critics "like a yard dog."

While Bill Clinton disgraced the White House, getting it on with Monica Lewinsky while in office, terrorists were entering the country while planning the attacks on 9/11. No matter how he tries to spin it, It's a fact that he'll never be able to live down.

Compromised Democrats' Bill Covers 94 Percent Of Eligible Americans

Congressional budget scorekeepers say the latest Democratic healthcare bill would cover 94 percent of eligible Americans while reducing the federal deficit.

The Congressional Budget Office said Saturday the changes announced by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would cut the deficit by an additional $2 billion, bringing the 10-year total reduction to $132 billion.

The nearly $900 billion bill would be paid for by $483 billion in cuts to Medicare and other federal health programs, as well as tax increases.

The number of people covered by employers would decline slightly from projected levels, as workers at small businesses take advantage of federal subsidies to purchase their own plans.

It would leave 23 million people still uninsured in 2019.

Hey, Barry's legacy is on the line here. At this point they'll pass anything if they can put his name on it.

Tensions stemming from the prolonged debate on health care flared Thursday afternoon when Democratic Sen. Al Franken, who was the presiding officer, refused to let Sen. Joe Lieberman finish his speech on the senate floor.

Lieberman, the bane of the Democratic Party's liberal base because of his opposition to creating a public option and expanding Medicare, was speaking about preserving the Medicare trust fund.

After his allotted ten minutes, Lieberman - an independent from Connecticut who sits with the Democratic caucus - asked for more time to finish his speech, a request customarily granted in the venerable chamber.

"In my capacity as the senator from Minnesota, I object," replied
Franken.

"Really?" Lieberman asked, seeming surprised by the rejection. "Okay," he continued with a chuckle, "I don't take it personally."

Immediately following the exchange, Lieberman's closest Republican ally, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, came to his defense.

"I must say that I don't know what's happening here in this body, but I think its wrong," said McCain. "I have been around here for 20-some years. [This is] the first time I have ever seen a member denied an extra minute or two to finish his remarks."

It's so noteworthy to see how liberals are reacting to this exchange, but then why not remind us all of the spoiled, whiny brats conservatives have long known them to be? When the Left doesn't get their way, this is what they succumb to: smear campaigns, idiot petitions, name-calling, attacking family members, petty and churlish behavior, etc. all to score a point with their lunatic base. Message To Duggar Family: Time To Stop Having Babies Already!

"Josie is doing as well as can be expected for a baby at her age. We are taking each hour as it comes," says Michelle, who has been released from the hospital.

"We feel so blessed that God has given us to her and are cherishing every moment with her." Josie was born on Dec. 10 weighing 1 lb., 6 oz. Michelle, who had been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone, was taken to the OR for an emergency C-section. Her husband Jim Bob Duggar remained by her side.

Michelle's doctors said the baby was born prematurely because Michelle suffered from preeclampsia, a rare condition during pregnancy that causes high blood pressure.

First of all, prayers for the Duggar family as they go through this troubling time. Secondly, it's time to stop having kids already. The Duggars claim to be a Christian family, ok well maybe Michelle Duggar getting preeclampsia is a sign from God to be done with getting pregnant. Michelle Duggar is 43yo now, if her husband Jim Bob truly loves her, he should be worried about his wife's health including the fact that he could of lost the mother of his kids all because of what? Having 19 kids instead of 18? Michelle should concentrate on staying healthy for her children and help this newborn flourish into a healthy, responsible adult. Giving birth in your early 40's is not something to be played around with and God has more than blessed the Duggars with plenty of children already. Enough's enough.

Copenhagen 'Climate Change' Summit Hit By Blizzard

World leaders flying into Copenhagen today to discuss a solution to global warming will first face freezing weather as a blizzard dumped 10 centimeters (4 inches) of snow on the Danish capital overnight.

“Temperatures will stay low at least the next three days,” Henning Gisseloe, an official at Denmark’s Meteorological Institute, said today by telephone, forecasting more snow in coming days. “There’s a good chance of a white Christmas.”

Delegates from 193 countries have been in Copenhagen since Dec. 7 to discuss how to fund global greenhouse gas emission cuts. U.S. President Barack Obama will arrive before the summit is scheduled to end tomorrow.

Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It hasn’t had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMI’s definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit).

DMI defines a white Christmas as 90 percent of the country being covered by at least 2 centimeters of snow on the afternoon of Dec. 24.

The Sarah Palin-Arnold Schwarzenegger clash over climate change pits two Republican stalwarts in a tiff that brings to the fore the divisions within the GOP on environmental policy and global warming.

It all began when the California governor questioned Ms. Palin’s motivation for penning an op-ed article in The Washington Post that questions climate change science based on leaked e-mails from a leading research group. In her Dec. 9 article, Ms. Palin criticized the Democrats cap-and-trade plan to limit greenhouse-gas emissions as a jobs killer and called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate talks, reflecting a skeptical view of global warming often seen in conservatives' Tea Party protests.

Mr. Schwarzenegger, a leading proponent of environmental policies to head off climate change, told the Financial Times: "You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish? Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the nomination [for president]?"

The governor then said this to ‘Good Morning America’ Tuesday: "I think there are people that just don't believe in fixing and working on the environment. They don't believe there is such a thing as global warming, they're still living in the Stone Age."

Palin fired back on Facebook: “Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment?”

She was “among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change,” she said, adding, “While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can't primarily blame man's activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn't do was hamstring Alaska's job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act "greener than thou" when talking to reporters.”

Palin's view on climate change is certainly not the most skeptical within the GOP. She acknowledges climate change may be a problem but that "we can't say with assurance that man's activities cause weather changes."

It's funny how people act like this woman was never elected governor of a state.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was named Person of the Year by Time magazine on Wednesday, giving him a high-profile boost as he tries to fend off proposals that might weaken the Fed's independence.

The selection puts the mild-mannered Bernanke, a former professor, in the company of U.S. President Barack Obama, Pope John Paul II and Russian President Vladimir Putin, among other prominent world figures the magazine has picked in past years.

The Senate is considering Bernanke's nomination to a second term to head the Fed -- the U.S. central bank -- and while he is expected to win confirmation, criticism of the Fed among the public and members of Congress is at its highest in decades.

The Fed's role in bailouts of Wall Street has prompted criticism from both Republicans and Democrats. Some lawmakers are pushing proposals to curb the Fed's regulatory powers and open up its interest rate decision to congressional audits.

The Fed worries that congressional second-guessing of its policy decisions would compromise its fiercely-guarded independence.

One poll by Rasmussen Reports this month showed public support for Bernanke's nomination at a scant 21 percent, with 41 percent stating opposition, but he continues to enjoy support on Wall Street and among many lawmakers.

The contest had been designed to criticize the prime minister's perceived reluctance to attend climate change talks in Copenhagen by showing locations that he would rather be in.

However, one shocking photo had the Prime Minister's head digitally replacing the head of Lee Harvey Oswald in a picture that showed Oswald as he is shot and killed by Jack Ruby.

Liberal Party spokesperson Daniel Lauzon apologized in an e-mail to Canwest.

Al Gore Gets Facts Wrong (Again) On 'Climate Change'

Green crusader Al Gore was at the centre of a new spin row today after he was caught out once again exaggerating the threat of global warming.

In a keynote speech at the Copenhagen climate change talks, the former U.S. vice-president said the North Pole could be completely free of ice by the middle of the next decade.

To back up his alarming prediction, he claimed a new study showed a '75 per cent chance' that the Arctic could be ice-free in the summer months within five to seven years.

But study's author distanced himself from Gore's scaremongering prediction - and claimed his research had found nothing of the sort.

It's the latest embarrassment for Gore, an outspoken environmental campaigner who has earned millions of pounds from green investments and faced repeated criticism for scaremongering.

Two years ago a high court judge ruled that his Oscar winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth was 'alarmist', 'one-sided', and contained nine scientific errors.

The court said copies of the film sent to secondary schools should be accompanied with notes to balance Gore's views.

Any wonder the Goracle refuses to debate anyone on global warming? One would think that the world's most recognized advocate for 'climate change' would be an expert on the subject by now. Yet, Al Gore refuses to debate 'climate change' skeptics. Maybe he's afraid someone might challenge him on how rich he's gotten off of this hoax. Or maybe's he afraid of being caught out there with more inconvenient lies. Or perhaps he's just afraid being confronted by the fact that there is no scientific consensus on the causes or effects of global warming? Perhaps it's just all three.

Courtney Love Loses Custody Of Daughter

Rock star Courtney Love has lost custody over her daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Two legal guardians have been appointed to care for Frances Bean, Love's 17-year-old daughter with the deceased Nirvana front man, Kurt Cobain, CNN has confirmed.

According to legal documents originally obtained by TMZ.com, the court has appointed Kurt Cobain's mother, Wendy O'Connor, and his sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, to watch over the minor.

Geraldine Wyle, an attorney for O'Connor and Cobain, confirmed to CNN that an order of temporary guardianship has been granted to her clients and said the issue was a "private family matter."

A court hearing has been scheduled on the issue for February 10.

This is not the first time that Love has been in court to discuss issues within her family.

In 2003, Frances Bean was temporarily placed under the care of O'Connor after Love was arrested and accused in an attempted break-in at an ex-boyfriend's home, overdosed on painkillers and made a suicide threat. Love admitted a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She regained custody in 2005.

The only question here is what took so damn long?

The prestigious award has gone to Presidents (Obama, GWB (twice), Clinton), businessmen (Ted Turner, Jeff Bezos), and you (you). Unfortunately, you missed the cut this year, but these six people didn't: Nancy Pelosi, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, Ben Bernanke, President Obama, Steve Jobs and Usain Bolt. Of course, it wouldn't be Time without a gimmick, and this year's is the shortlisting of "the Chinese worker." But we're still holding out hope that a last minute push will get you the award. Really, you've earned it.

Need more reason why you can't take TIME seriously? Here we have a House Speaker who enjoys low approval ratings in her own home state, while accomplishing little (sorry, but getting a leftist healthcare reform bill passed by a smidgen when your party holds a clear majority is not anything to gloat about) if anything in the process being picked as a finalist for 'Person of the Year'?!?. And why isn't Glenn Beck on the list (no, seriously, hate him or love him, has any media personality made a bigger impact this year?)? My vote would be for Usain Blot or Steve Jobs. Liberal Loon Jane Hamsher Attacks Joe Lieberman's Wife

Liberals are so incensed at Connecticut Senator Joe Liberman's refusal to vote for ObamaCare, that they have taken to attacking his wife, who works for a prominent breast cancer organization. Their ad hominem assaults and wild speculation about the Senator's supposedly evil motives reveal their hypocrisy when it comes to political centrists, and their desperation concerning health care legislation.

At Huffington Post, FireDogLake founder and breast cancer survivor Jane Hamsher revealed that her request to the Susan G. Komen foundation that money raised to find a cure not be used to pay Mrs. Lieberman's salary went unheeded. Hamsher went on to accuse the Lieberman couple of conspiring to sink health care reform in order to line their own pockets.

Hamsher accuses Mrs. Lieberman using "her association with her husband the Senator ... in order to secure these lucrative positions and advance the interests of her clients" at a lobbying firm for which she is a consultant. This contention, Hamsher claims, is "unquestionable," though she offers no evidence to support the accusation, other than speculation about the couple's income.

Health care reform isn't the No. 1 priority in this country, jobs are. Indeed, take a minute to dig beyond the liberal propaganda and you'll find that the U.S. already has one of the best healthcare systems in the world. But if you're on the Left, the fact that more and more Americans are having a hard time putting food their tables matters little when you have a radically leftist agenda to fulfill. Joe Lieberman, Al Gore's choice for running mate only 9 years ago, is now being demonized by the Left for daring to look out for Americans all the while refusing to stay quiet and just jump on board with Barry's radical vision of a liberal utopia. I say keep at it Joe! The more angry they get, the more we know you're doing something right.

Dead NYC Times Square Gunman Used Stolen Gun Traced Back To Virginia

The gun used in a brazen Times Square shootout was stolen from its owner in Virginia last month. The knock-off MAC-10 pistol was sold at Dale's Guns on Oct. 18 in Powhatan, Virginia before being reported stolen from a car 10 days later in Richmond, Virginia, according to the Daily News.

Cops said the original buyer was 25-year-old Richmond-native Jordan Kelsey-Stewart, 25, who has prior arrests for driving without a license and possession of a firearm with alcohol. Police are trying to determine whether or not she knew Raymond "Ready" Martinez before the rapper and street peddler acquired her gun, opened fire at police, and was gunned down after his weapon jammed because he was holding it incorrectly.

Gun store owner Dale Blankenship said Kelsey-Stewart had all the proper identification and passed a background check before purchasing the handgun. According to 1010WINS, Martinez — who did not have a license to own a gun — was "carrying a pocketful of business cards from Virginia gun dealers" when he was killed.

Mayor Bloomberg — who has long squabbled with Virginia gun dealers — says the shooting is an example of why the nation needs stricter gun laws. "There's just too many guns in the street," said Bloomberg, who claims out-of-state gun sellers allow criminals to obtain firearms through "straw purchasing," in which one customer fills out the forms and passes the background check before giving the gun to a second person. He added: "This is one of the great public health threats. And our police officers are clearly in danger." According to city officials, about 85 percent of illegal guns in the city come from five states, including Virginia.

I'm not making any excuses for Raymond Martinez, an idiot who scammed people for a living and then foolishly (and thank goodness not tragically) shot at police officers in a crowded section of New York City, endangering people's lives. But let Martinez's death be yet another example of why this country needs tougher gun laws. This isn't about the millions of legitimate gun owners out there, it's about lax gun purchase laws as well as tougher prosecution against sellers of guns who engage in "straw purchasing". Gun dealers suspected of illegally selling firearms that wind up involved in murders need to be put out of business and do serious time behind bars.

SNL Mocks Media for Ignoring Political Affairs While Reveling In Tiger Woods'

"Saturday Night Live" opened yesterday with a skit mocking both the sexual indiscretions of politicians and how little attention is given them by the media. John Edwards, John Ensign, and Mark Sanford gathered together to protest that their affairs barely registered despite the fact that one of them engaged in bribery, one of them abandoned his state in a time of need, and one of them had a love child with a campaign worker.

These stories, while reported by major news outlets, disappeared quickly and without much follow-up. All of these men still have their jobs. Tiger Woods on the other hand, a man with no public responsibilities, has been the subject of intense media scrutiny over several weeks and has indefinitely resigned from golf.

Leave it to the comedians to put things in the proper perspective.
