Mike Huckabee Offers Winning Strategy For GOP

Newsmax.com:

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says he hasn't decided if he's going to run for president in 2012 – yet. But he does have a plan for how the Republican Party can re-energize itself and ensure success in next year's midterm elections.

“The key thing is to have some specific proposals that we can say to the American people, 'Elect us, and here's what we're going to do,' he told Newsmax.TV's Kathleen Walter.

“I suggest a balanced-budget amendment, the implementation of the fair tax, which is a consumption-based tax. I think we ought to be talking about accountability, that government officials can't raise their pay at a time when the economy is going downhill. I'd love to see a law that forces members of Congress and Senate, if they run for another office they have to resign and give up their seat and their salary and their benefits if they're going to run for something other than the office they hold. I want to see term limits imposed on members of Congress so they can't stay up there forever and make a career of it.

“Those are just some basic reforms that I sure would like to put on the table and say to the people, 'If you elect Republicans, this is what we're going to propose and put forth in Congress.'”

Huckabee, who is promoting his new book, “A Simple Christmas: Twelve Stories that Celebrate the True Holiday Spirit,” said the party should capitalize on the momentum provided by recent Republican electoral victories. GOP candidates won gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey on Tuesday, and many more lower-profile races. Huckabee says those results should make President Barack Obama and fellow Democrats nervous heading into the 2010 midterm elections.

I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in the face: Mike Huckabee is the man that can unite the GOP. If the blockheads on the far-Right can just shut up and listen to the man, they'll see that what he offers for Americans are solutions, not just partisan rhetoric in the sole interest of opposing the Left. And that's what most Americans want right now: jobs, less taxes, a better economy for themselves and their kids, etc. They're tired of the petty Right vs. Left bickering.

Barney Frank Was Present At Gay Lover's Marijuana Bust

FOXBoston.com:
FOX25 has learned that Congressman Barney Frank was present during a marijuana arrest at James Ready's home in Ogunquit, Maine. Ready is well-known for his relationship with Congressman Frank.

According to a police report, police charged Ready with marijuana possession, cultivation and use of drug paraphernalia in August of 2007. Ready admitted to civil possession and paid a fine. The remaining charges were dismissed in 2008.

Sources tell FOX25 that when Frank was questioned he told police that he did not live in the house and that he only smoked cigars.

Congressman Frank tells FOX25 that he was surprised and disappointed with what police found. He also tells us that he wouldn't recognize a marijuana plant if he saw one because he is, "not a great outdoorsman," and ,"wouldn't recognize most plants."

David Dinkins: Obama Non-Support For Black NYC Mayoral Candidate Bill Thompson Helped Him Lose

NYPost.com:

The city's first African-American mayor yesterday blamed the country's first black president for leaving Bill Thompson in the dust in the mayoral race.

"The president should have done more. He found time to go to Virginia, he found time to go to New Jersey and he should have been here," ex-Mayor David Dinkins told The Post yesterday.

Dinkins, who held office from 1990 through 1993, was referring to Obama's high-profile role in two tight gubernatorial races that Democrats ended up losing.

By comparison, the president barely got involved in the city's mayoral race, which ended up far closer than expectations. Thompson lost by a mere 5 percentage points, despite being vastly outspent by Mayor Bloomberg.

It's funny how so many Black liberals still fail to realize that Barack Obama doesn't care about Black people. Black liberals thought that since Barry looks like them, sometimes acts "Black" (i.e. the fist-bumps, shout-outs, occasional use of Ebonics, etc.) and what with their overwhelming support for Barry in last year's Presidential election, that they could expect the Commander-in-Chief to....yunno, look out for them a little bit. But so far Barry has shown that he's way more concerned about the white, liberal agenda (i.e. climate change, gay "rights", ObamaCare, etc.) than the Blacks (i.e. black-on-black crime, poverty, lack of education, racism, etc.). Indeed, almost a year into his presidency and Barack Obama has shown himself to be no different than his white predecessors as far as liberal Democrat politicians go--pimping Blacks for votes while on the campaign trail and then leaving them hanging once they get elected. About time Black liberals wake up to the fact that the "First Black President" could care less about the title.

Barack Obama Gives A "Shout Out" Before Addressing Fort Hood Massacre

This is embarrassing. You telling me that Barry couldn't save his "shout out" for when he was done talking about the shooting? That's what a true leader would do out of respect alone. He just comes off as completely unaffected here. Mind you, these were 12 of our troops who were murdered by one of their own here, on their own soil and our "President" treats it like it's just another speech on his agenda. How does this look to a family or friend of one of the murdered soldiers, much less any soldier? Much less any American? Once again Barack Obama disgraces the office he holds.

U.S. Soldier Kills 11, Wounds 30 At Army Base @ Fort Hood, TX

ABCNews.com:
Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base in a murderous rampage that officials believe was carried out by an Army officer.

The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, told Fox News that military sources informed her that the gunman was about to be deployed to Iraq.

Tragic indeed. I just hope that some of the racist idiots on the Far-Right don't try to exploit this because of the killer's name. Prayers for the family and friends of the soldiers who died there as well as the wounded.

David Axelrod Talks To FOX News

In a wide-ranging interview, Barry adviser talks Afghanistan strategy, health care reform and 2009 election results.

Chris Matthews Guest: "You're Making My Leg Tingle"

Chris Matthews was having a good time interviewing radio talk show host and Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams. The smile was quickly wiped off Matthews' face when Williams responded "You're making my leg tingle."

Avoiding FOX News Cost Jon Corzine Re-election

This is where liberals still don't get it. No matter what you think about FOX News, employing the FAILED Obama strategy of whining about the network just doesn't work. FOX is the No. 1 cable news network by a wide margin. Independents love FOX and so do moderate Democrats. And contrary to what Robert Gibbs thinks, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity aren't the only people with shows on FOX. So if you're a liberal pol who truly believes in your platform, go on FOX and fight for what you believe in instead of acting like a little girl (i.e. Barry) and crying about anyone who dares to criticize you. Or you could be a loser like Jon Corzine.

DC Sniper John Allen Muhammad Seeks To Halt Execution

WaPo.com:
Attorneys for sniper John Allen Muhammad, mastermind of the terrifying 2002 Washington area shooting spree, asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday to halt their client's execution, saying he was paranoid and delusional during his trial.

Muhammad, 48, who teamed up with Lee Boyd Malvo, now 24, in a series of random shootings that left 10 people dead, suffers from mental illness and brain damage caused partly by childhood beatings, defense attorney Jonathan P. Sheldon and others on the defense team wrote.

As he prepared for his 2003 trial, Muhammad was "amnesic of the events surrounding the crimes" and thought he was being framed in an elaborate scheme, the attorneys wrote. He believed that he was a prophet and said Malvo discovered an herbal cure for AIDS. He also said the military had trained him in "urban warfare" at "secret schools." The attorneys said that because of Muhammad's brain damage, he has trouble following a logical line of thought and "lacks sufficient ability to distinguish truth from falsity."

The argument to the Supreme Court contends that attorneys Peter D. Greenspun and Jonathan Shapiro were ineffective because they failed to object to Muhammad's demand to represent himself at trial. Had the pair argued that Muhammad's mental problems made him unfit to present his own defense, there is a "reasonable probability" that the judge would have found Muhammad incompetent to stand trial altogether, Sheldon wrote.

A bit of irony here in that the same week that Muhammad's asking for leniecy, an alleged serial killer by the name of Anthony Sowell is making news. Regardless, the state-sanctioned murder is always wrong, even when it comes to the likes of John Allen Muhammad.

Maine Voters Reject Gay Marriage Law

YahooNews.com:

The stars seemed aligned for supporters of gay marriage. They had Maine's governor, legislative leaders and major newspapers on their side, plus a huge edge in campaign funding. So losing a landmark referendum was a devastating blow, for activists in Maine and nationwide.

In an election that had been billed for weeks as too close to call, Maine's often unpredictable voters repealed a state law Tuesday that would have allowed same-sex couples to wed. Gay marriage has now lost in all 31 states in which it has been put to a popular vote — a trend that the gay-rights movement had believed it could end in Maine.

"Today's heartbreaking defeat unfortunately shows that lies and fear can still win at the ballot box," said Rea Carey, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, gay-marriage foes had 53 percent of the vote. They prevailed in many of Maine's far-flung small towns and lost by a less-than-expected margin in the state's biggest city, Portland.

"The institution of marriage has been preserved in Maine and across the nation," declared Frank Schubert, chief organizer for the winning side.

Good for the sanctity of marriage. Good for the people of Maine who had to deal the bully tactics of a liberal state Congress as well as a governor who forced this issue on them without their input. Good for a Civil Rights movement that has been tattered and exploited by white liberals for decades now all in the name state-approved sodomy and perversion. This is a victory for conservatives.

Mike Bloomberg Wins 3rd Term As Mayor

Reuters.com:
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who engineered a change in the city's term-limits law so he could run again and set a campaign financing record, narrowly won a third term on Tuesday, local media declared.

Bloomberg, who ran as an independent, defeated City Comptroller Bill Thompson, a Democrat, according to The New York Times, the Daily News and NY1 television.

With 99 percent of the votes counted, Bloomberg was ahead 51 to 46 percent.

His margin was far smaller than expected, given polls that showed him as recently as Monday with a double-digit lead and expectations of a large, lopsided victory.

Bloomberg spent more of his own money in pursuit of public office than any other individual in U.S. history, and he vastly outspent his challenger, laying out $13 for every $1 spent by Thompson.

Here in NYC everyone pretty much knew Bloomberg was going to win. But yeah, considering that Bill Thompson came into this election as a virtual unknown, didn't offer much of a platform (besides relentlessly pointing out how Mayor Mike "bullied" his way to revising the city's term-limits law) and had hardly any backing from any prominent Dems (including the White House and Bill Clinton who made overtures that he'd come out and back Thompson, but ended up flaking out), Thompson does deserves kudos for making Bloomberg sweat a little bit.

Chris Christie Defeats White, Liberal, Obama Pal Gov. Jon Corzine

AP.com:
Chris Christie, an aggressive former prosecutor who racked up a perfect conviction rate in public corruption cases and became the darling of New Jersey's Republican Party establishment, has unseated the deep-pocketed but unpopular Gov. Jon Corzine.

Christie, 47, on Tuesday became the first member of his party in a dozen years to win a statewide contest in heavily Democratic New Jersey. President Barack Obama invested heavily in the race, campaigning with Corzine five times on three separate visits.

With 75 percent of precincts reporting, Christie had 50 percent of the vote compared to 44 percent for Corzine. Independent candidate Chris Daggett, who at one point had been feared as a potential spoiler, had about 5 percent.

Christie accepted public financing in the race against the wealthy incumbent and was outspent by more than $12 million. He did get financial help from the Republican Governors Association and other national Republican groups, which bought television time in the pricey New York and Philadelphia media markets.

Christie ran on a platform of smaller government and relentlessly criticized Corzine for what he called poor economic stewardship — unemployment was 9.8 percent in October and property taxes averaged $7,045 per household, the nation's highest. But he was criticized during the campaign for remaining vague about how he would solve New Jersey's chronic fiscal problems.

The physically robust Christie endured an onslaught of personal attacks from the Corzine campaign; his weight even became a central issue at one point.

Oh sure, they'll pretend it doesn't matter now, but Governor-elect Chris Christie's win in a uber-liberal state like New Jersey is a huge victory for the GOP. Of course, the slimy tactics of Jon Corzine in this campaign as well as his 4 years of doing literally nothing for the people of New Jersey, also played a heavy part in his defeat. But the bottom line is that Chris Christie's win is a clear reflection of the failed policies and actions of Barack Obama.

Oprah Winfrey's Double Standard: Disses Chris Brown But Supports Wife-Beater BeBe Winans

BVNewsWire.com:

Does Oprah Winfrey has a double standard when it comes to domestic violence?

For the past few months, the talk show queen has been very vocal about her stance on domestic violence. But one reported domestic violence victim is speaking out against the media mogul.

After a highly publicized altercation that left 'Umbrella' singer Rihanna battered and bruised at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown, Winfrey took to her talk show in March to discuss their situation.

"Love doesn't hurt. If a man hits you once, he will hit you again," Winfrey said.

Brown was offended by Winfrey's comments, mostly because he had a rapport with the billionaire–even performing at her Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa.

The 'Run It' singer fired back on 'Larry King Live' and in People magazine: "'I commend Oprah on being like, 'This is a problem,' but it was a slap in my face. She could have been more helpful, like, 'Okay, I'm going to help both of these people out.'"

Winfrey later told 'Access Hollywood' that she stood by her comments. "Domestic violence is something that I wouldn't tolerate. Period," she declared.

During an interview with hip hop radio personality Angie Martinez, last week, Brown still stressed his displeasure with the talk show queen.

Last week, ironically, Winfrey invited gospel singer BeBe Winans on her show to promote his new reunion project with sister CeCe Winans. The 47-year-old Grammy Award winner also appeared on Winfrey's show Oct. 30 as a judge for her new 'American Idol'-styled karaoke challenge.

Maybe she forgot he's facing domestic violence charges for a February incident in which he allegedly shoved his ex-wife, Debra Winans, to the ground in front of their kids. Winfrey is a close friend of Winans and has supported his music endeavors for years. His 1997 song 'Thank You' even became an anthem on the widely watched talk show.

Mrs. Winans told TMZ that she's "hurt by Oprah's decision to have Bebe on the show," in light of her refusal to have Brown on after the incident with Rihanna.

Some might say that what Bebe Winans allegedly (domestic violence charges are still pending) did to his wife is nothing compared to what Chris Brown reportedly did to Brianna. Yet regardless, abuse is abuse and Oprah Winfrey is a hypocrite for selling Chris Brown out while her buddy Bebe still receives her support. Consider too that Bebe professes to be a "man if faith" who sings gospel music while Chris Brown is a young man whose gotten condemned repeatedly by the talk-show queen. Can we say double standard much? Clearly we can.

Onion News: Victim In Fatal Car Accident Tragically Not Glenn Beck

Victim In Fatal Car Accident Tragically Not Glenn Beck

Yunno, I know that some conservatives think that making fun of Beck in this way is way over-the-top. But as a longtime Onion reader I can honestly say that I don't believe that they lean any particular way politically--at least as far as I know. In other words, you'd have to be a fan of The Onion to get the drift.

Poll: 70% Say 'President Hillary' Better Than Obama

Newsmax.com:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 27 percent of voters think Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would be doing a better job as president, while 49 percent say she would be performing about the same. That’s about 70 percent that say a hypothetical ‘President Hillary’ would be doing as well or better than President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, just 14 percent of U.S. voters say Hillary Clinton would be doing a worse job as president than Obama if she had won last year’s Democratic presidential nomination.

Democrats who think things would be different with Clinton are evenly divided between whether they’d be better or worse. Republicans and unaffiliated voters who think things would be different tend to believe Clinton would have done a better job as President.
Seems like there's a lot of Barry regret going around. But all things said I still think John McCain would've beaten Billary in the Presdential election.

Al Gore Compares Global Warming "Fight" To Civil Rights Movement

HuffPo.com:

The push for government action on climate change is like the US civil rights movement, according to former Vice President Al Gore. Both causes depended on and depend on a grassroots call to change.

Gore talked about those similarities during webcast interview with Katie Couric about his new book Our Choice, his follow-up to the film about global warming An Inconvenient Truth.

Couric referred to Gore as the "Godfather of Green" before beginning the 32-minute interview. Gore touched on the the moral issues surrounding inaction on climate change as well as cap and trade legislation specifics.

It's just amazing that Black liberals let Gore get away with this BS (mind you this isn't the first time that Gore has exploited one of history's most sorriest moments for use with his "climate change" lies). The audacity for this egomaniac, who has literally made millions off his global warming scheme, is too magnificent in scope. His "science" is deeply flawed and has been proven wrong by scientists and government experts around the world. But what do liberals care? Gore's won a bullshit Nobel Prize....so he must be right.

Keith Olbermann Being Mocked On Own Network Now

NewsBusters.org:
The technical term for the following video is “busting his chops.”

Joe Scarborough provided a wonderful satire of Keith Olbermann’s 2008 election-night bias on this morning’s edition of Morning Joe. A partial transcript follows the video, which really must be watched for the full effect.

Attaboy, Joe.

This sort of thing makes up for your left-of-center moments.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: And by the way, if the Republican Party, or if conservatives are so extreme, why are all of Barack Obama’s candidates going up in flames tomorrow?

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: We shall see what happens tomorrow –

SCARBOROUGH: Because, I mean, I heard that Virginia had been switched forever, last year. [Begins Olbermann impression] It’s a transformative night. Virginia, once solidly in the Republican’s column – it’s gone purple, my friends! This will change the landscape of America for the next generation! Or the next...eleven months, until Republicans kick their ass by twelve points. But look, it was radicals, it was right-wing extremists that moved Virginia in the column. Joseph Stalin? Perhaps not. But the ghost of John Birch rises somewhere above a confederate flag in Richmond, Virginia, tonight. What’s next, Mika?

George Soros, King of all Liberals, Warns Of China's New World Order

The Leftist billionaire financier responsible for funding major liberal blogs, the Democrat majority in Congress (Soros banked Al Franken's stolen senatorial election recount win in Minnesota this year) as well as Barack Obama's campaign for President, says that China's economy will grow faster than people expect and so will its global economic influence. Whew! Either way when this tyrant speaks you'd better listen.

Liberal Congressman John Conyers Slams Obama

Wow, even some of Barry's Black minions are getting a little fed up with him:
President Barack Obama is "getting bad advice from ... clowns" on Afghanistan and "sucking up to the wrong people" on health care, U.S. Rep. John Conyers told a Detroit radio audience Saturday, according to show host the Rev. Horace Sheffield. Conyers, a Detroit Democrat, made the comments during a discussion about the effects of the recession on urban poor people, Sheffield said.

The congressman expressed frustration that health care legislation pending in Washington, D.C., is too solicitous of insurance companies and special interests, Sheffield said.

"He wasn't angry. He was just deeply concerned that some of the issues being focused on don't address the human reality," said Sheffield, who hosts the program "On The Line" on WGPR-FM (107.5).

According to a news release from Sheffield, Conyers said: "President Obama is sucking up to the wrong people and insurance companies as Obama pushed a weak health care package."
John Conyers was one of the leaders of the lame "Impeach Bush" crowd. Recently he's had his own bit of drama what with his wife going to jail soon for bribery. That said, Conyers has been around long enough that when he speaks, people listen....can't help but wonder if Barry's goons will come down on him for speaking out publicly against the Liar-in-Chief. You just don't do that, especially if you're a liberal.

Video: A Mafia Hit, And The Shock Of Indifference

I'm not even gonna lie. If I was upon that scene, right by a guy getting taken out like that, my first instinct would be to act like I didn't see a damn thing and get the hell up out of there. The guy's already dead, nothing can help him. Plus he was boldly shot in broad daylight which would make me extra cautious, much less scared--no way I want to end up being the next guy lying face down on the sidewalk.

Republican Dede Scozzafava Endorses Democrat Bill Owens In N.Y. Congressional Race

Politico.com:
Republican state Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava has thrown her support to Democrat Bill Owens over the newly GOP-backed candidate Doug Hoffman in next Tuesday's special election, an 11th hour development that dramatically scrambles the political picture in the nationally-scrutinized race.

“In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first,” Scozzafava said in a statement.
“Please join me in voting for Bill Owens on Tuesday. To address the tough challenges ahead, we must rise above partisanship and politics and work together. There's too much at stake in this election to do otherwise.”

Scozzafava’s decision comes one day after she abruptly suspended her campaign -- and since then, the White House had been persuading her to come out in support of Owens. In addition, New York Democratic sources tell POLITICO that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and state party chairwoman June O'Neill -- who she has a close relationship with -- also played a role in convincing Scozzafava to endorse Owens.
Another example how Far-Right bully tactics end up working them. Yeah, Scozzafava may be a RINO on social issues, but the way to keep GOP members seated doesn't include name-calling or intimidation. It didn't work most recently with Arlen Specter and it may not work here. The either-you're-100%-with-me-or-against-me approach taken on by GOP members and pundits against pols they deem "not conservative" enough (aka "Not Reagen Enough") almost always ends up being a win for the Left because it just turns moderates and independents off. Yet ask most people and I bet they'd rather have a guy who votes with them 50% of the time as opposed to none.

AP: Public Option Will Only Cover 2% Of Americans

HuffPo.com:
What's all the fuss about? After all the noise over Democrats' push for a government insurance plan to compete with private carriers, coverage numbers are finally in: Two percent.

That's the estimated share of Americans younger than 65 who'd sign up for the public option plan under the health care bill that Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is steering toward House approval.

The underwhelming statistic is raising questions about whether the government plan will be the iron-fisted competitor that private insurers warn will shut them down or a niche operator that becomes a haven for patients with health insurance horror stories.

Some experts are wondering if lawmakers have wasted too much time arguing about the public plan, giving short shrift to basics such as ensuring that new coverage will be affordable.

"The public option is a significant issue, but its place in the debate is completely out of proportion to its actual importance to consumers," said Drew Altman, president of the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. "It has sucked all the oxygen out of the room and diverted attention from bread-and-butter consumer issues, such as affordable coverage and comprehensive benefits."

The Democratic health care bills would extend coverage to the uninsured by providing government help with premiums and prohibiting insurers from excluding people in poor health or charging them more. But to keep from piling more on the federal deficit, most of the uninsured will have to wait until 2013 for help. Even then, many will have to pay a significant share of their own health care costs.

The majority of Americans won't even have access to it, insurance companies will still be hurt (but who cares about them?) and it may not even be cheaper. Can we say overrated?

Joe Biden Admits Job Numbers Not Accurate

Newsmax.com:

On the same day that the Obama administration claimed that nearly 650,000 jobs had been saved or created under President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan, Vice President Joe Biden told a slightly different tale.

"We know this is not 100 percent accurate," he said. "Further updates and corrections are going to be needed."

Speaking Friday during an appearance with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, Biden admitted that the government's jobs statistics are nothing more than an approximation.

But Biden tried to put the best spin on the situation, saying "My message today is we're on track" and that "there is more help on the way."
