It's getting to where you can't turn on your TV without seeing Obama. Who does he think he is, Dick Cheney? Come on, sir, you don't have to be on television every minute of every day. You're the president, not a rerun of "Law and Order." Save some charisma for a rainy day. Taking strangers from a TV show on a tour of your house? We have that show; it's called "Cribs." And letting reporters ask you questions like "You like to be the one who picks out the shaving cream, don't you?" Or as it's called today, "journalism." I was willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until I saw him take Brian Williams into his bedroom, and at the end of the bed there was a teleprompter and it said, "Who's your daddy?"

I mean, selling the personal part to stay popular, I'm all for it, but you got us already. We like you, we really like you! You're skinny and in a hurry and in love with a nice lady. But so's Lindsay Lohan. And like Lohan, we see your name in the paper a lot, but we're kind of wondering when you're actually going to do something.

Matt Lauer Defends Pervert David Letterman On Sarah Palin Rape Jokes

So it's ok for liberals to "connect the dots" with conservative pundits and "domestic terrorism," but not ok for Palin to connect misogynist rape jokes with young women's self-esteem. Palin was being kind calling Lauer "extremely naive".

NBC host Matt Lauer interviewed Sarah Palin on June 12, and defended comedian David Letterman and his joke about the statutory rape of Palin’s daughter by baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

When Palin began to condemn the joke as wildly inappropriate and offensive, Lauer defended Letterman: “Since David Letterman’s not here, let me just say that he did not mention Willow by name, and he then went on to say he was not referring to your 14-year-old daughter,” as though to Lauer the excuse diminished the vile nature of Letterman’s joke.

At the end of the segment, Lauer did admit that, “a lot of people feel the joke was in extremely bad taste, no matter which daughter of yours he was referring to,” but not before Palin pointed out that, “regardless, it was a degrading comment about a young woman,” and no joke of that nature should be tolerated, no matter how old the victim of the joke is.

Lauer noted, “At the end of your statement you said that ‘a joke like this contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.’ Now, it was a joke. It was probably by most standards in bad taste.”

Leave aside the question of by which standards it was in good taste, Lauer the T.V. star feigned ignorance of the media’s influence on America’s culture when he asked Palin, “But can you really connect the dots to criminal activity the way you did in that statement?”

But Lauer was not done defending Letterman. Palin issued a statement refusing to appear on Letterman’s show stating, “it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman.” Lauer asked, “Are you suggesting that David Letterman can't be trusted around a 14-year-old girl ...Well is that not perhaps in bad taste also, governor? If you're, you know, suggesting that a 62-year-old man couldn't be trusted?”

So Lauer equated a disgusting sexual joke about a young woman with Palin’s statement, and then forced a mother to defend herself for wanting to protect her young daughter from a man who insulted and humiliated her with the joke.

That’s “extremely bad taste.”

John McCain Scolds Pervert David Letterman

Republican Senator John McCain has a message for late-night comic David Letterman: Enough with the jokes about Sarah Palin and her family.

The host of CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" drew the ire of Palin this week by making jokes about her visit to New York last weekend.

Letterman joked that a Palin daughter, presumably Bristol, 18, had sex with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez during a baseball game the ex-vice presidential candidate attended. Bristol gave birth to a child last year fathered by her former fiance.

"I don't understand why Letterman would say that about a young woman," McCain said during a telephone interview on Thursday. "They (the Palins) deserve some kind of protection from being the butt of late-night hosts."

Finally, John McCain does something that I can agree with.

Cher's "Daughter" Chastity Bono To Become A Man

Chastity Bono is having a sex change to become a man. A spokesman for Bono, born a girl to Sonny and Cher, says he "has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity" and began the sex-change process earlier this year. Publicist Howard Bragman said Bono is proud of his decision and hopes "that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue."

The 40-year-old writer, activist and reality-TV star came out as gay 20 years ago, Bragman said.

In the book "Family Outing: A Guide to the Coming-Out Process for Gays, Lesbians, & Their Families," Bono describes the realization of being "somehow different — specifically different from who my mom expected me to be."

A message left with Cher's representatives was not immediately returned Thursday.

David Paterson Approved Rockefeller Drug Laws Reform Is A Boon To Drug Dealers

The deal that was reached some months ago (sponsored by the highly unpopular Gov. Paterson) to repeal and revise much of New York State's Rockefeller Drug Laws, a priority of the Left for some time now, could turn out to be a huge boon to drug addicts as well as drug dealers:

Here at the Daily News editorial page, we try to focus on matters of vital interest to readers. One such topic involved Albany's relaxation of the so-called Rockefeller drug laws.

We argued that softening the statutes as envisioned by Democrats in the Assembly and Senate, as well as by Gov. Paterson, would virtually decriminalize narcotics in New York.

So extreme were the provisions of the legislation in steering even recidivist traffickers and repeat quality-of-life offenders into treatment programs that we dubbed the bill the "Drug Dealer Protection Act."

The Legislature and governor refused to listen. But one incarcerated gentleman, who boasts a 27-page rap sheet, paid close attention. He found our editorials describing the law to be of perversely vital interest.

"They just changed the law," he said on a taped jailhouse conversation, adding that the statute was called the "Drug Dealers Protection Law."

That lawmakers might actually use such a title seemed plausible because we had detailed the many leniencies of the legislation. Among them:

Dealers would be eligible for probation after two, three and four convictions. Defendants could claim addiction with the aim of going into rehab. After rehab, dealers could seek case dismissals. Prosecutors would have to prove that big traffickers had made at least $50,000 in profit, an impossible task without accounting ledgers.

Said the happy inmate: "They can say that they have a habit, that they do sell drugs. And they got to prove that you make over 50,000 a year, and they said that's hard to prove with no financial records. ... So you know what they did, they just created the Beast. The Beast is coming home to be the juggernaut. ...

"They said even if you have three or four, no, four or five convictions, you're still eligible for a program, and you know me, I got no sales on my records. All is possessions, so they got to give me a program. ... They just gave me the free-for-all. You know what that means? I'm burnin' the streets up when I go home. ...

"Well, the Beast is being created right now."

Such is the law from the pusher's-eye view, rather than from the fantasy perspective that street dealers, car boosters, store burglars and the like are merely addicts crying out for help.

The Legislature tightened provisions that would have given a pass to $50,000-and-up kingpins. But lawmakers and Paterson held fast to empowering judges to seal as many as four convictions on a druggie's record - even when the druggie applies to be a foster parent or a teacher or a nursing home aide.

The law is a get-out-of-jail-free pass. We told them so. And now the Beast has come to bite them.

Drug use is a choice, not a "disease" as so many liberals like to claim. No one would ever claim that a cigarette addict was suffering from sort of disease, but with liberals it's never about personal responsibility, it's always about finding some excuse out. The Rockefeller Drug Laws may have been harsh, in some cases racist and maybe even outdated, but considering the damaging effects that drug use has on families, neighborhoods, the workplace, our safety and society in general, stringent laws are needed for drug offenders. This doesn't mean that our federal government doesn't need to do more in our war on drugs or that treatment for first-time, non-violent offenders shouldn't at all be considered, but a literal get-out-of-jail-free pass isn't the right answer either. This idiot reform package by Gov. Paterson goes way too far. The safety of our citizens should always come first.

Late-Term Abortionist Compares Martin Luther King's Assassination To George Tiller's Murder

The niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on Tuesday condemned the remarks of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart in comparing the recent murder of abortionist George Tiller to King’s assassination.

"This is the equivalent of Martin Luther King being assassinated," the Washington Times quoted Carhart as saying. "This is the equivalent of Pearl Harbor, the sinking of the Lusitania and any other major historic event where we've tolerated the intolerable for too long."

"For LeRoy Carhart to mention the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who worked through peaceful and non-violent means, in the same breath with that of George Tiller, whose work ended peace and brought violence to babies in the womb, is offensive beyond belief," Dr. Alveda King, pastoral associate of Priests for Life, said in a statement. "The analogy is just wrong."

Carhart said there was “absolutely no difference in putting a cross in front of a person's home because of what race they belong to than there is putting a cross in front of our homes because we do abortions,” the Times quoted him as saying.

He claimed that pro-life activists placed crosses in front of Tiller’s clinic in Wichita, Kan. Carhart worked at the clinic on a rotating three-week schedule to assist with late-term abortions. Carhart also called on the government to treat all activities by “anti-choice domestic terrorists” as hate crimes.

"Dr. Carhart also speaks of hate crimes," added Dr. King. "I would simply ask him, is it not hateful to regard an entire class of people as non-human because they're unwanted?"

"The message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was that every human being has equal dignity. LeRoy Carhart and every other abortionist violate that message every time they dismember a baby. The comparison is ridiculous," Rev. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, said in a statement.

No surprise here, for years the Left have shown no shame in exploiting the Civil Rights Movement for their own immoral agenda. They've certainly done it with "gay rights", and now in the Left's continued attempt to turn a late-term abortionist into some kind of martyr, they degrade the great works of Dr. King. I mean, Carhart even had the nerve to equate the burning crosses of the KKK and the crosses pro-lifers place to commemorate the murder of Tiller. And while white liberals mock, abuse and degrade the Civil Rights Era for their own gains, their black counterparts say nothing. Funny that.

Biden had just finished telling reporters on a conference call Monday that federal stimulus money might have gone out slower in the past few months than some people liked because, “We don’t end up with any major glitches.”

Then The Record had a chance to ask about an environmental group’s complaint that Amtrak would not be able to use the new Hudson River tunnel – which is benefitting from a provision of the stimulus bill increasing the Federal Transit Administration’s debt limit -- because it doesn’t go to Penn Station.

Biden said Amtrak was getting its share of stimulus money and more projects would be announced in a few days. Then he offered this:

“Look, this is designed, this totally new tunnel, is designed to provide for automobile traffic,” Biden said. “It’s something, as you know, up your way, that’s been in the works and people have been clamoring for for a long time.”

For the record, the tunnel is for trains, and its completion would allow for more NJ Transit trains during peak hours and “one-seat” rides into Midtown Manhattan on lines serving Bergen and Passaic counties. Currently riders on those lines must switch trains.

Biden's office did not immediately respond to a request to clarify his comments.

Actor Jon Voight Calls Obama A "False Prophet"

You might remember Jon Voight from such films as Anaconda, Pride and Glory and Transformers. Others may remember the actor for his comments made during a GOP Congressional Dinner last night where he said he was "embarrassed" by the popular president and that Obama's leadership would bring the "downfall" of the country. "We are becoming a weak nation," Voight said, calling Obama a "false prophet" and his administration the "Obama oppression."

Voight, a conservative, has appeared on Fox News as a commentator in the past, along with the late Ron Silver. Here's what the actor had to say in an Op-Ed for The Washington Times during the run-up to the presidential election in 2008:

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the Communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.

Typical liberal press will try to play down Jon Voight's great career (he's not just "Angelina Jolie's dad") because he openly criticizes Barry instead of bowing down to the Obama throne. But of course, if this was your typical Hollywood liberal talking down about President Bush (as many did during W's two terms) we wouldn't hear the end of it, no matter how obsucre they were. Blame Belongs To Gov. David Paterson For Republicans Taking Over New York Senate

Republicans apparently seized control of the New York State Senate on Monday, in a stunning and sudden reversal of fortunes for the Democratic Party, which controlled the chamber for barely five months.

A raucous leadership fight erupted on the floor of the Senate around 3 p.m., with two Democrats, Pedro Espada Jr. of the Bronx and Hiram Monserrate of Queens, joining the 30 Senate Republicans in a motion that would displace Democrats as the party in control.

In a news conference in the early evening, Senator Malcolm A. Smith of Queens, leader of the Senate Democrats, insisted that the Republican-engineered vote was illegal and violated parliamentary procedure. He said the vote was illegal because it had already taken place after the meeting was already brought to an end.

Blame gay marriage. Backed by the likes of an adulterous, unpopular governor whose been feening for it, Senate liberals (and their minions in the press) have recently been trying to push gay marriage legislation down the throats of New Yorkers. Forget that some conservative Democrats in the Senate warned Malcolm Smith about what would happen if gay marriage was brought to the floor. Forget that most Americans oppose gay marriage. Forget that one-issue, gay Senator Tom Duane has been trying to bully fellow Senators into saying "yes" to gay marriage. Forget the fact that New York has hundreds of more pressing needs than catering to the radical liberal agenda, Smith and his leftwing cronies could care less--all in the name of getting NY some stupid name recognition (as the 7th state to approve of "gay marriage). Now how stupid do they look?

Al Gore Leaves Imprisoned North Korea Journalists In The Cold

The two reporters for Al Gore’s TV Current, an on-line journal based in San Francisco, who have been held since March, were found guilty of illegal entry and sentenced to 12 years hard labor, the North Korean news agency said on Monday.

Al Gore and his on-line network have yet to speak out on the actions by the North Korean government -- the arrest and now the sentencing.

The pair, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, were arrested by the North Korean authorities on March 17, after traveling through northern China to the North Korean border to do a story on trafficking of North Korean women.

They may not have even been in North Korea at the time of their arrest. North Korean border guards probably crossed the Tumen (the river that forms the border) while Ling and Lee were filming on the Chinese bank, according to Reporters without Borders.

There were many comments to my April 21, 2009 post when I criticized Gore for failing to speak out on behalf of his journalists. Several irate readers assured us that negotiations were occurring behind the scenes.

Then on June 4, 2009 Reuters reported that the U.S. might send former vice president Al Gore to Pyongyang in order to negotiate the release of two American journalists on trial in North Korea for illegal entry.

Too little and too late.

There’s been a virtual news blackout at Gore’s TV Current, his on-line TV station has suppressed readers’ comments, refused to report the story about his own reporters. TV Current even posted a guard to keep the press out, as reported by the SF Weekly.

Now, the two journalists, Ling and Lee, have been convicted and sentenced.

Then and now, the former Vice President remains silent.

His silence in March, through April, through May has left the two pawns in the standoff between the U.S. and North Korea.

North Korea has defied the U.S. by conducing prohibited missile tests. Now they have insulted the U.S. by sentencing two likely innocent journalists to hard labor. It is an embarrassment to this country, shameful for the former vice president, and a tragedy for the two journalists.

While The Goracle makes millions with his global warming hoax, he leaves his employees in the lurch. Wonder if the mainstream press will the guts to make hay of this.

Supreme Court Upholds "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

A former Army captain who was dismissed under a federal law dealing with gays and lesbians in the military lost his appeal Monday at the U.S. Supreme Court.

James Pietrangelo and 11 other veterans had sued the government over the "don't ask/ don't tell" law passed in 1993.

Pietrangelo was the only one who appealed to the high court, but the justices without comment refused to intervene.

The provision forbids those in the military from openly acknowledging or revealing their homosexuality, and prevents the government from asking individual soldiers and sailors about their sexual orientation.

The Obama administration had asked the high court not to take the case, and White House officials had said they would not object to homosexuals being kicked out of the armed services.

During the presidential campaign last year, President Obama said he supported throwing out the federal law but has taken no specific action on the controversy.

This is the right decision by SCOTUS. The military isn't the place for social experimentation, much less people who identify themselves by who they have sex with. And for liberals who argue that by keeping gays out, the military losses good soldiers, the gist of DADT was to give the gays a compromise--i.e. shut up about your same-sex lust and you get to stay. But that isn't enough for some the gays who want to serve "openly", yet cohesion definitely becomes risky when you have soldiers who choose not to adhere to policy. Then too, another detriment to the recession is the fact that so many of the unemployed are attempting to join the military that they're literally having to turn people away. All in all Barry doesn't want to pick a fight with conservatives, much less the armed forces on this issue and the military will be fine without having to worry about sex fiends putting personal lust before what's best for their country.

Hillary First Said 'No' To Secretary-Of-State Job

When then-President-elect Barack Obama first asked Hillary Clinton to be his top diplomat, she turned him down and recommended others for the job, the secretary of state said in an interview broadcast Sunday.

Speaking to ABC's "This Week," Clinton also said the president has answered the central question she raised about him when she was his chief rival for the Democratic nomination last year.

In her famous "3 a.m." ad, she questioned whether Obama was the right candidate to handle a middle-of-the-night international crisis.

"Has the president answered it for you?" host George Stephanopoulos asked.

"Absolutely," Clinton replied. "And, you know, the president, in his public actions and demeanor, and certainly in private with me and with the national security team, has been strong, thoughtful, decisive, I think he is doing a terrific job. And it's an honor to serve with him."

The former senator from New York and former first lady revealed details of how she came to accept the role.

"I never had any dream, let alone inkling, that I would end up in President Obama's cabinet," she said. "When I left the presidential race after getting some sleep and taking some deep breaths, I immediately went to work for him in the general election. ... And I was looking forward to going back to the Senate and, frankly, going back to my life and representing New York, which I love. And I had no idea that he had a different plan in mind."

No surprise here. Barry knew what he was doing hiring Billary as a minion so he can keep a better eye on her. And the conniving Clinton's knew full well that the American public would never let them get away with rebuffing the President.
