CNN, Rick Sanchez Pwnes Bill O'Reilly
Hey, I can admit when I'm wrong. Bill O'Reiily needs to own up too.
UPDATE: Bill O'Reilly Apologizes To CNN
Hillary First Said 'No' To Secretary-Of-State Job

CNN.com:
When then-President-elect Barack Obama first asked Hillary Clinton to be his top diplomat, she turned him down and recommended others for the job, the secretary of state said in an interview broadcast Sunday. No surprise here. Barry knew what he was doing hiring Billary as a minion so he can keep a better eye on her. And the conniving Clinton's knew full well that the American public would never let them get away with rebuffing the President.Speaking to ABC's "This Week," Clinton also said the president has answered the central question she raised about him when she was his chief rival for the Democratic nomination last year.
In her famous "3 a.m." ad, she questioned whether Obama was the right candidate to handle a middle-of-the-night international crisis.
"Has the president answered it for you?" host George Stephanopoulos asked.
"Absolutely," Clinton replied. "And, you know, the president, in his public actions and demeanor, and certainly in private with me and with the national security team, has been strong, thoughtful, decisive, I think he is doing a terrific job. And it's an honor to serve with him."
The former senator from New York and former first lady revealed details of how she came to accept the role.
"I never had any dream, let alone inkling, that I would end up in President Obama's cabinet," she said. "When I left the presidential race after getting some sleep and taking some deep breaths, I immediately went to work for him in the general election. ... And I was looking forward to going back to the Senate and, frankly, going back to my life and representing New York, which I love. And I had no idea that he had a different plan in mind."
Ann Coulter Quote of the Day!

"According to recent polling, a majority of Americans oppose abortion -- which is consistent with liberals' hysterical refusal to allow us to vote on the subject. In a country with approximately 150 million pro-lifers, five abortionists have been killed since Roe v. Wade.
In that same 36 years, more than 49 million babies have been killed by abortionists. Let's recap that halftime score, sports fans: 49 million to five."

What Liberal Press? New TIME Magazine Features 3 Articles On George Tiller, None On Pvt. William Long

In case I needed another reminder of who controls the discourse in this country. I got my latest edition of TIME magazine today and counted a total of 3 articles on the recent killing of late-term abortion doctor George Tiller by anti-government nutcase Scott Roeder. Fine. TIME is a subsidiary of the left-leaning Time Warner Inc. so that's to be expected. But what about William Long? Any mention of the Army recruiter who was also murdered for political reasons by Carlos Bledsoe (aka Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad) during the same week as Tiller? Well, I skimmed through a couple of times and there wasn't one single mention of Private Long. Again, what liberal press?
New Jersey Principal, Noreen Hajinlian, Bans Hugging
UPI.com:
Hugging among U.S. teenagers has become so prevalent some schools say they've banned the embrace or imposed limits on how long they last.Geez, let's hope that she never finds out what actually happens on prom night."Touching and physical contact is very dangerous territory," said Noreen Hajinlian, principal of George G. White School, a junior high school in Hillsdale, N.J., which banned hugging. "It wasn't a greeting. It was happening all day."
Hajinlian's school is among those from New Jersey to Bend, Ore., that have clamped down on hugging, The New York Times reported Saturday.
Megyn Kelly Slams Playboy For Their Female Conservative Rape Column
Yeah, some liberal bloggers did come out against this vile, disgusting article, but I don't recall any of them saying anything when dyke "comedian" Sandra Bernhard made a joke about Sarah Palin being raped by black men last year during the presidential campaign? Feminists aren't about protecting women, just those who agree with their radical agenda.

Dick Cheney's Approval Ratings Are Higher Than Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi refuses to back down from her lie that the CIA "misled" Congress about the use torture. But what does it say about her credibility with the American public when Pelosi's image rating runs on par with that of an unpopular former Vice President:
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Dick Cheney have little in common politically, but they receive almost identical image ratings from the American public. According to a May 29-31 Gallup Poll, 37% of Americans have a favorable view of Cheney and 34% have a favorable view of Pelosi. Both Cheney and Pelosi are viewed unfavorably by at least half of Americans.Nancy, we don't believe you. You need more people. The similarity between Cheney's and Pelosi's ratings is notable given that the two have emerged as the leading voices on either side of this year's debate over whether the government's use of "enhanced interrogation techniques" against terrorist suspects constitutes torture.
Cheney came out of his brief vice presidential retirement in March to publicly defend the Bush administration's support of CIA interrogation policies, and on May 21 went head-to-head with President Barack Obama on the issue in separate national security speeches. Pelosi has condemned "waterboarding" and earlier this year supported a call to investigate Bush administration officials who authorized it; however, she recently fell into a public battle with the CIA over whether she was previously briefed on the agency's use of the coercive technique.

Sarah Palin Slams Obama Administration: "Government Wants To Control The People"

Newsmax.com:
In a speech in Anchorage this week, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged that the government is planning to “bail out debt ridden states” so it can “get in there and control the people.”
Ostensibly the address was to introduce Michael Reagan, the son of former President Ronald Reagan, to an audience, but the former GOP candidate for vice-president cut loose with some bold rhetoric aimed at the Obama administration’s fiscal policies.
Palin said that the programs the administration had unleashed “fly in the face of principles” and “defy Economics 101,” according to a report by CNN.
Conservative talk show icon Reagan took a back seat to Palin, even though the two have been something of a mutual admiration society.
After listening to Palin’s rousing speech to accept the Republican Party’s vice-presidential nomination in 2008, a bowed-over Reagan commented: “Governor Palin would have made my father Ronald Reagan proud tonight. The last great speech I heard was delivered by my father. There seems to be a new Reagan – and she’s a she.”
But Palin reserved her flourishes for lambasting the Obama policies rather than praising her guest.
“Since when can you get out of huge national debt by creating trillions of dollars of new debt?” Palin charged. “It all really is so backwards and skewed as to sound like absolute nonsense when some of this economic policy is explained.”
“We need to be aware of the creation of a fearful population, and fearful lawmakers, being led to believe that big government is the answer, to bail out the private sector, because then government gets to get in there and control it,” she said. “And mark my words, this is going to be next, I fear, bail out next debt-ridden states. Then government gets to get in there and control the people.”
“Some in Washington would approach our economic woes in ways that absolutely defy Economics 101, and they fly in the face of principles, providing opportunity for industrious Americans to succeed or to fail on their own accord,” she argued. “Those principles it makes you wonder what the heck some in Washington are trying to accomplish here.”
This is the kind of talk/criticism that the GOP needs to get together on. Quit with the silly internal disputes, quit listening to liberals in sheep's clothing, quit with the over-the-top rhetoric about a Supreme Court nominee who'll likely be confirmed anyway, but probably won't make much of a difference to SCOTUS' ideological make-up. Attack Obama. Attack his policies and socialist agenda. Attack Barry's minions in the press. Attack the ever-growing bastion of corrupt Democrats. Focus on the game and send the people a message that'll make them listen.

Keith Olbermann Posts Lowest Ratings Of The Year In May

TVByTheNumbers.com:
Whether it’s post-election cable news hangover and/or seasonal declines as the weather improves, Countdown with Keith Olbermann hit its lowest ratings of the year in May down over 30% in the cable news adults 25-54 demo target from January. At what point will the suits at MSNBC realize that continuously trying to be the anti-FOX is an utter FAIL? And maybe, just maybe there are non-conservatives out there who just want some fair journalism, some check and balances on the Obama administration and Democrats in general? When will they wake up to the fact that the Bush administration is over now and most Americans have moved on? You would think that when your tired product of liberal propaganda is affecting your bottom line, you'd wake up and change your gameplan. But instead MSNBC continues with the stupid, loses all sense of credibility and gets more irrelevant by the minute.
Obama Finally Acknowledges Murder Of Private William Long

KATV.com:
Law enforcement authorities say officers found evidence that the man charged with the Arkansas military recruiter shooting might have considered other targets. A joint FBI (web) -Homeland Security intelligence assessment obtained by The Associated Press said officers found maps to Jewish organizations, a child care center, a Baptist church, a post office and military recruiting centers in the southeastern U.S. and New York and Philadelphia. Muslim-convert Abdulhakim Muhammad has pleaded not guilty to Monday's deadly shooting in a suburban Little Rock shopping center. Authorities said he targeted soldiers "because of what they had done to Muslims in the past."Two days after his death, I guess someone whispered in Barry's ear that if he was going to express "outrage" at the murder of late-term abortionist George Tiller, the least he could do is acknowledge the death of a soldier who was willing his life on the line for his country. Real nice job there Barry.
Private William Long was killed and Private Quinton I. Ezeagwula was wounded. Both completed basic training within the past two weeks and had never seen combat. After the attack, investigators searched a computer connected to Muhammad and found research into multiple sites in different states, according to the memo obtained by the AP. Investigators are working to determine if anyone else knew about Muhammad's intentions.
Meanwhile, in a statement released by the White House Wednesday, President Obama said, “I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”
Newsweek Takes Oprah Winfrey's Pseudo-Science To Task

Finally, a magazine showing some balls by taking on Queen Oprah and the daily BS she dishes out to her weak-minded audience of suburban soccer moms:
On Oprah's show, there is one opinion more equal than others; and by the end of the program there was no doubt where Oprah herself stood on the issue. She told her audience that she found Somers's bestselling books on bioidentical hormones "fascinating" and said "every woman should read" what she has to say. She didn't stop there. Oprah said that although she has never had a hot flash, after reading Somers she decided to go on bioidenticals herself. "After one day on bioidentical estrogen, I felt the veil lift," she wrote in O, The Oprah Magazine. "After three days, the sky was bluer, my brain was no longer fuzzy, my memory was sharper. I was literally singing and had a skip in my step." On the show, Oprah had her own word of warning for the medical establishment: "We have the right to demand a better quality of life for ourselves," she said. "And that's what doctors have got to learn to start respecting."
All in all, it was a perfect hour of tabloid television. Who could look away from Suzanne Somers's sad but captivating efforts to turn back time? And if there was a stab of guilt in the pleasure we took in the spectacle, Oprah was close by to ease our minds, to reassure us, with the straightest face, that it was all in the name of science and self-improvement. Oprah routinely grabs viewers with the sort of tales of the strange and absurd that might be found a few clicks over on Maury Povich or Jerry Springer: women who leave their husbands for other women (another recent Oprah episode); a 900-pound mom (ditto). But there is a difference. Oprah makes her audience feel virtuous for gaping at the misfortunes of others. What would be sniffed at as seamy on Maury is somehow praised as anthropology on Oprah. This is Oprah's special brilliance. She is a gifted entertainer, but she makes it seem as though that is beside the point. Oprah is not here to amuse you, she is here to help you. To help you understand your feelings; drop those unwanted pounds; look and feel younger; get your thyroid under control; to smooth your thighs, nip and tuck your wrinkles, awaken your senses and achieve spiritual tranquillity so that you can at last be free to "Live Your Best Life."
Oprah takes these things very seriously. They are, after all, the answers she hopes to find for herself. If Oprah has an exquisite ear for the cravings and anxieties of her audience, it is because she shares them. Her own lifelong quest for love, meaning and fulfillment plays out on her stage each day. In an age of information overload, she offers herself as a guide through the confusion.
Her audience cannot get enough. After more than two decades on the air, the Oprah franchise continues to expand. Forty million people tune in to watch her television show each week. O magazine, which features her picture on every cover, sells more than 2 million copies each month. She has her own satellite radio channel and a very popular Web site. Forbes puts Oprah's personal fortune at $2.7 billion. Her empire is about to get bigger. Oprah has made a deal to launch her own cable television channel that will reach 70 million homes. It will be called, of course, the Oprah Winfrey Network and will include Oprah-approved programming on health and living well. In announcing the deal, Oprah said, "I will now have the opportunity to do this 24 hours a day on a platform that goes on forever
Now that it has a much smaller circulation (thanks to its old liberal leanings), Newsweek isn't as relevant anymore, but it still deserves kudos for doing what most in the mainstream press refuse to do: take on the Queen's endless parade of pseudo-science, idiot "self-help" advice, hatred for men, liberal propaganda as well as Oprah's ever-increasing ego. One could easily argue that there's no one with more influence in the world than Oprah Winfrey--way too much power for any one person to have, especially when half the time she has no clue about the type of "advice" she dishes out, much less agrees with from the mouths of the so-called "experts" she has on her show. Indeed, the Cult of O needs to be stopped before it's too late.

Rush Limbaugh Now Supporting Sonia Sotomayor

CNN.com:
A week after calling Sonia Sotomayor a "racist" in reference to her 2001 "wise Latina" remarks, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday he's now open to supporting President Obama's Supreme Court nominee.Good for Rush on changing his mind and supporting Sotomayor. Now's a bad time for the GOP to risk pissing off their Hispanic base and the feeling here is that Sotomayor will not be an activist judge like Ruth Ginsburg--indeed, even liberals are scared at what type of Justice she'll be on the bench. And Rush still needs to quit with the "racist" stuff, because while she's may've made some silly comments (that were similar to Justice Alito IMO), there's just nothing in Sotomayor's legal record that proves it."I can see a possibility of supporting this nomination if I can be convinced that she does have a sensibility toward life in a legal sense," Limbaugh said on his radio program.
Limbaugh's statement comes the same day former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who himself derided Sotomayor as a "racist" last week, wrote in an op-ed that he regretted his choice of words.
On his show Wednesday, Limbaugh said his potential support of Sotomayor stems from the nominee's unclear stance on abortion coupled with the fact that she is a Catholic.
"I don't know that it will ever happen, but if you know, the opportunity to get somebody like her, she's a Catholic, she's a devout Catholic, she's a Hispanic Catholic, Puerto Rican, they tend to be devout, she hasn't got a record on this. Normally liberals do have a record," Limbaugh said.
Obama And Liberal Media Cry For George Tiller, But Silent On Private William Long

FOX4kc.com:
Carlos Bledsoe discovered the Religion of Peace, changed his name to Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, traveled to Yemen, studied jihad with an Islamic scholar, and finally opened fire on a recruiting office in Little Rock, killing Private William Long and wounding Private Quinton Ezeagwula. Interviews with the killer unsurprisingly revealed that he "probably had political and religious motives."Almost two whole days have passed and Barry still hasn't acknowledged the murder of Private William Long--a man who was no doubt killed, in part, because of the atmosphere of hate fostered by the anti-war, troop-hating Keith Olbermann and all his minions on the liberal press and blogosphere. Barry was quick to condemn the murder of late-term abortionist George Tiller (and rightfully so), but not one word yet on the killing of William Long. The Attorney General, Eric Holder, was quick to order federal marshals to protect late-term abortion centers, but so far, no one has been sent to guard military recruitment centers even though more than a 100 have been attacked in recent years. Is that BIAS you smell? So did the mentally ill Scott Roeder, who handed liberals a propaganda
bonanza by shooting infamous late-term abortionis t George Tiller. The latter incident has been regarded as far more serious, resulting in a statement by the president. Tiller's work continues, with his infant abattoir under federal protection , as moonbats hold candleligh t vigils and praise the butcher as "compassion ate and courageous ."
From the point of view of our progressive ruling class, only innocent life is expendable .
A Google News search for George Tiller returns 5,590 articles. One for William Long returns 535.
Sure seems like it.
And while we expect the Left to put the interests of those who fit their agenda first, isn't the President of the United States supposed to represent all Americans? Not just those that voted for him, much less those who most benefit his pockets? Shouldn't the President of the United States show some empathy for those willing to volunteer and put their life on the line for our country? Yet, Barry remains silent on William Long and that's just a disgrace.

Nadya Suleman Slams Kate Gosselin!
The Battle of the Crazy Psychos Moms Who Exploit Babies For Fun (And Cash!) heats up as Octo-Mom, Nadya Suleman, took some time out from her 14 babies to respond to 8-time mom Kate Gosselin's recent interview with Dr. Phil. Said Nayda about her latest nemesis and archenemy: "She needs to stop being so judgmental and stop pulling at straws for attention. My children are extremely healthy, strong and happy. Don't you have, like, a lot of issues in your life? A lot of marital problems?" Woah! Considering that Kate's husband Jon's been making a lot of news lately for all the "hanging out" time he spends with his "friends" that happen to be girls, it's pretty clear that tho she looks like she's overdosed on her meds on the tape, Nadya's been doing her homework on this one. So score one Mother's Day cookie for Octo-Mom here.
Obama Declares June 'LGBT Pride Month'

OneNewsNow.com:
In a presidential proclamation on the White House website, Barack Obama has lauded what he calls "the determination and dedication" of the LGBT movement by proclaiming June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month."Once again Barry goes out if his way to defend an immoral lifestyle choice all for the sake of political posturing. And at the same time he insults the significance of Black History Month (to think June even has two more days then February) by giving another month to the gays. The nerve of this man to call himself a Christian.
"The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress," Obama states in the official proclamation, "but there is more to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect."
The proclamation, released on Monday, credits the LGBT movement with being a factor in more Americans who ascribe to those groups "living their lives openly today than ever before."
The president also takes pride in being the first U.S. chief executive to appoint "openly LGBT" candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an administration.
He uses the proclamation to emphasize LGBT-related initiatives that he intends to pursue in the future -- both domestically and internationally.
"I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexual around the world," he states. "Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans."
Among those measures he lists "hate crimes" laws, civil unions, discrimination in the workplace, adoption rights, and ending the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy "in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security."
Video: George Tiller The Killer
I don't advocate vigilantism. But after reading leftwing blogs (with an able assist from the mainstream media) continuing to spin George Tiller as some kind of martyr (one had the gall to call his murder an "assassination"), I just had to post this video (WARNING: VERY GRAPHIC!!!) here so one can get a fairer portrait of what George Tiller was really about.

Using Liberal "Logic", Is Keith Olbermann Responsible For Army Recruiters Murder?

AP:
One Army recruiter was killed Monday and a second was wounded in a shooting at a recruiting office, and a suspect was arrested, police said.King Of All Liberals George Soros must've recently sent out a missive, because his idiot minions in the Left blogosphrere are still out in force blaming the murder of Dr. George Tiller on pro-life groups, FOX News and Bill O'Reilly, instead of....yunno, the lunatic that actually shot the guy (but then libs have never been too found fond of personal responsibility). So applying this backwards logic, when some nutcase goes out kills an army recruiter, wouldn't it be fair to just assume that he'd probably just come from watching another one of anti-war, Bush-hating, liberal pundit Keith Olbermann (best ever!) "Countdown"'s? I mean, that would certainly be much more convenient than arresting the guy, trying him in court and all that other rigmorole.Police Lt. Terry Hastings said the recruiter was shot when a man in a black SUV opened fire on the office in west Little Rock at about 10:30 a.m.
The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 630 a short time later and a suspect was taken into custody. Hastings said the suspect pulled over and surrendered without incident.
Police said they found an assault rifle in the vehicle.
Hastings said he did not know whether the recruiting office was specifically targeted or was randomly chosen.
Hastings said shortly after noon that investigators had not yet questioned the suspect and that police were still processing evidence from the crime scene.
As a precaution, police also called in a bomb squad because there were packages in the SUV. Hastings said a robot would open the packages.
Authorities did not immediately identify either the victims or the suspect.
Norm Coleman, Al Franken Arguments Heard In MN Supreme Court

Pretty much the last chance for Norm Coleman and so far it's not looking good:
Republican Norm Coleman’s legal team on Monday faced a skeptical audience of five Minnesota Supreme Court justices, who could be his last lifeline to prevent Democrat Al Franken from being seated as the state’s junior senator.
During the one-hour proceeding, the five justices peppered Coleman attorney Joe Friedberg with pointed questions on whether the campaign had provided enough evidence to prove that Coleman would have won the election if additional absentee ballots were included.
Justice Christopher Dietzen, an appointee of Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty who is considered to be the court’s most conservative judge, said during the hearing that Coleman’s argument was filled with “legal theory” but had “no concrete evidence to back it up.”
While Franken attorney Marc Elias also received tough questioning over the fact that some counties used different standards in counting absentee ballots, the fact that Coleman was aggressively questioned by Republican-appointed judges, doesn’t bode well for his chances, according to legal observers.
“If this isn’t a 5-0 opinion for Franken, I would be totally surprised. You got the sense that the justices were very unpersuaded by the Coleman arguments,” University of Minnesota law professor David Schultz said. “What [the judges] were saying is Coleman didn’t provide the sufficient evidence to either overturn the lower court decision, or sufficient evidence to show why the additional ballots should be introduced.”
Even if Coleman loses, thus making Franken a senator, the idea of Democrats having a super-majority (and being able to avoid filibusters) just doesn't phase me only because I know trust conservative Democrats like the Blue Dogs, Evan Bayh, Mary Landrieu, Ben Nelson and yes, even Arlen Specter are not going to just sit back and let Barry bulldoze his liberal agenda through Congress and onto the masses. It's the principle of the thing that we stand for, screw the rest.

Nancy Reagan Interview With Vanity Fair

The always gracious, former First Lady speaks on her late husband, the Bush family and the Obama's with the leftwing, conservative-bashing Vanity Fair (my guess is that the rag loves Mrs. Reagan's support for embroyonic stem-cell reserach):
With her 88th birthday approaching, media-shy Nancy Reagan opens up to Vanity Fair’s Bob Colacello about a wide range of subjects, including the Bushes, the Obamas, her White House battles, and how her life has changed since the death of her husband, five years ago. Colacello met with the former First Lady at her Bel-Air home, which he describes in detail, and his article, “Nancy Reagan’s Solo Role,” shows how a woman who for so long defined herself in relation to her husband is managing life on her own. Among the topics the article covers are:
Nancy Reagan on the Obamas
• Michelle Obama called Nancy Reagan for “advice” and “suggestions,” and in the course of a 45-minute conversation, Mrs. Reagan encouraged Mrs. Obama to have lots of state dinners. Colacello senses that she’s about to contrast the Obamas favorably with the Bushes, who were famously averse to entertaining at the White House, but then stops herself.
• She feels President Obama missed an opportunity when he did not invite her to the ceremony announcing his reversal of Bush’s policy on embryonic-stem-cell research. “I would have gone, and you know I don’t like to travel,” she tells Colacello. “Politically it would have been a good thing for him to do. Oh, well, nobody’s perfect. He called and thanked me for working on it. But he could have gotten more mileage out of it.”
On life after Ronnie
• “I miss Ronnie a lot, an awful lot,” Reagan admits. “People say it gets better. No, it does not.”
• “It sounds strange, but … I see Ronnie. At nighttime, if I wake up, I think Ronnie’s there, and I start to talk to him. It’s not important what I say. But the fact is, I do think he’s there. And I see him.”
On her White House years
• Reagan explains her dustup with her husband’s chief of staff Don Regan, calling him “really a terrible man.” She says Vice President Bush was the one who told her, “You’ve really got to do something about Donald Regan,” and she reluctantly agreed. She enlisted former Democratic National Committee chairman Bob Strauss to help persuade the president. She also says that on one occasion, Regan hung up on her in the middle of a phone conversation. “When Ronnie found out about that, that did it,” she says.
On her relationship with her husband
• “He never really got angry with me—ever,” she says. Annoyed? “Annoyed, maybe.”
Ronald Reagan’s legacy
• While Ron Reagan tells Colacello that he feels his father’s “star might dim a little bit” because of the role Reaganomics played in our current economic crisis, Nancy says, “I don’t think Ronnie led us into anything that wasn’t good,” while admitting that “I really don’t know anything about” finance and economics.
• Mrs. Reagan says that her husband’s foremost disappointment was likely the fact that he wasn’t able to achieve his goal of doing away with nuclear weapons.
Taxpayers Paid $70,000 For Obama's Date Night

The Daily Mail:
...that's for three private jets, two helicopter rides, extra planes for security and closing roads for motorcade
It was a campaign pledge that Barack Obama didn't dare break - a promise to take his wife out for dinner and a show once the election was over.
So on the weekend he booked a babysitter, asked Michelle to put on a little black dress and swept her off for a date.
The President picked up the tab for a meal at a low-key restaurant, Blue Hill, that specialises in locally grown dishes.
He had also paid £60 apiece for two tickets to Joe Turner's Come And Gone, a play about a man coming to terms with the history of slavery.
As a little extra, he shelled out for two martinis to toast his first five months in the White House.
Overall, not too extravagant, and few would begrudge the hard-working couple such a treat.
Unfortunately, there were one or two other bills to settle at the end of the night.
The romantic jaunt is estimated to have cost the taxpayer more than £45,000 in transport and security costs - because the date was in New York.
The President used three planes, one to carry the couple and two to ferry aides and reporters all the way from Washington.
The cost of each flight was thought to be nearly £15,000.
The bill was pushed even higher with the use of two helicopters, one to take the Obamas to catch their plane in Washington and another to zip the party into Manhattan from JFK airport.
Police also shut down New York streets for the motorcade to pass through so they could get to their date on time.
L15,000 translates to about $70,000USD--in other words Barry has no shame. None at all. We're in the worse economic crisis this country has seen in decades, thousands of people are losing their jobs every week, G.M. just filed for bankruptcy and will be laying off droves of workers in the process and the Teleprompter-in-Chief is busy stifling taxpayers just so he can get some.
Priceless!
