Joe Biden: Doofus - Part 6

Newsmax.com:
Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday his predecessor, Dick Cheney, is "dead wrong" when he says President Barack Obama's national security policies are making the United States less safe. Biden said the exact opposite is true and added that President George W. Bush's vice president was part of a dysfunctional decision-making system.

"I don't think he is out of line, but he is dead wrong. ... The last administration left us in a weaker posture than we've been any time since World War II: less regarded in the world, stretched more thinly than we ever have been in the past, two wars under way, virtually no respect in entire parts of the world," Biden said. "And so we've been about the business of repairing and strengthening those. I guarantee you we are safer today, our interests are more secure today than they were any time during the eight years" of the Bush administration.

Since becoming president, Obama has ordered the closing of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and banned certain interrogation methods for suspected terrorists.

"Weaker posture"?!? Yeah, that's why we haven't been attacked in 7 years. That's why most of Al Qaeda's leaders have been taken out. Bozo the VP just doesn't get it--the U.S. was considered an enemy by Muslim extremists long before George W. Bush took office and coddling terrorists will make us less safer. Biden can criticize Cheney all he wants (personally I think Cheney should STFU and at least wait a year to criticize the current administration's foreign policy), but going after President Bush, when we haven't been attacked since 9/11 is just stupid and ass backwards.

Eminem Raps About Having Sex With Sarah Palin

It's funny how after the Left came down on this clown and accused him of being "homophobic" (after years of bashing gays in lyrics), he switched his whole game up--performing with gay icon Elton John, bashing former President Bush and going after religious groups and the Right in verse and song. Indeed, for all the credit he gets for his rap skills and supposed ingenuity, it seems to me that when push comes to shove, Marshall Mathers is nothing but a coward.

DKos Leads Liberal Trolls Into Blaming Glenn Beck For Pittsburgh Cop Killings

Hey, Charles Manson was a fan of the Beach Boys. The Son of Sam blamed a talking dog for his murders. And now, despite a lack of evidence pointing to any direct link, liberals are blaming conservative pundit Glenn Beck for Richard Poplawski killing 3 police officers the other day, apparently because Poplawski was a
Nazi-loving, gun nut who was scared that Barack Obama was going to take away his guns. That's the spill first put out at DKos headquarters and like good little mice, his herd has followed, as seen here, here and here. I mean what's a cop killing if you can't exploit it for political gain?

Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty On Two Felony Charges Of Assualt

MTVNews.com:

An expressionless Chris Brown arrived to an L.A. County criminal courthouse Monday afternoon (April 6) and pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of assault and making criminal threats stemming from his alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of this year's Grammy Awards.

The singer arrived 25 minutes late for his scheduled 3 p.m. PT court appointment. Brown was wearing all black and showed no emotion as he entered the courthouse to a mix of fans cheering and protesters demonstrating against domestic abuse. A police escort ushered Brown into the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Center promptly after he exited his black SUV. Brown, 19, was also accompanied by four bodyguards and his mother, Joyce Hawkins. Hawkins was seated in the front row during her son's hearing and her eyes appeared to be red, perhaps from crying.

Brown was in court for less than 15 minutes as he quickly entered his plea and left the courtroom. The singer and his lawyer didn't answer any questions afterward. The only words the singer uttered was a hushed "not guilty, your honor," after Judge Patricia Schnegg read the charges against him.

Mark Geragos, who is representing Brown in the case, said in court that more discovery is needed. The lawyer is seeking a plea deal and the negotiations have been characterized as "serious," according to a report this past weekend from TMZ. A number of unrelated reports have stated that the parties might be close to reaching a deal.

I think that he'll cop a plea deal based on some first offender nonsense, serve no jail time, get probation and/or mandatory counseling and get to move on with his life as long as he stays out of trouble. Chris Brown is not the monster that the media is portraying him out to be, he's a young man who made a huge mistake and he needs help to deal with his anger. As does Rihanna, who from all the reports I've read, seems to be doing just fine. The biggest mistake here would be for Brown and Rihanna to get back together without getting professional help first, plus they need to stay away from each other for awhile anyway.

Supreme Court Refuses To Grant Mumia Abu-Jamal A New Trial

FOXNews.com:

Mumia Abu-Jamal has lost his bid for a new trial in the killing of a Philadelphia police officer in 1981.

The Supreme Court said Monday it will not take up Abu-Jamal's claims that prosecutors improperly excluded blacks from the jury that convicted him of murdering Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia upheld Abu-Jamal's conviction but held his death sentence invalid. The appeals court said it would not second-guess state court rulings rejecting Abu-Jamal's claims of bias in the composition of the jury.

The high court considered only the conviction. The state has separately asked the court to reinstate the death sentence, but the justices have not acted on that request.

A Philadelphia jury convicted Abu-Jamal, who is black, of killing Faulkner, who was white, in 1981 after the patrolman pulled over Abu-Jamal's brother during an overnight traffic stop.

Looks like the Left's favorite cop killer will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

Who Knew Gary Coleman Was A Racist?

Here are a couple of videos featuring former "Different Strokes" star Gary Coleman in which Gary rants and raves about everything including his agent, some movie he's filming and oh yeah, white people. If you've followed what's left of Coleman's fame, then you already know that he has some serious anger management issues probably due to, in part, his height, but mostly due to the fact that he rarely, if ever, seems to blame himself for all the trouble he's gotten into since "Different Strokes" wrapped. And who knew Coleman hated white people so much? Of course, he could just be talking about his wife, who just so happens to be white.

Barack Obama Tells Turkey That The U.S. Is Not A Christian Nation

God, this man is pathetic. This country was built on Christian ideals and here's the Teleprompter-In-Chief (without his teleprompter as you can tell from all the "uhh"'s) contradicting our nation's history while continuing to kowtow to Muslim extremists.

Barack Obama does NOT represent the PEOPLE. He's a fraud who uses Christianity when it benefits himself and turns his back on it the minute he needs to cater to his liberal base.

He must be brought to task for this statement. Check the constitution, the founding fathers' writings, our money, the inscriptions on our federal buildings! Who is he to make the big "change" on behalf of our country?

One-term, people. One term.

'Fast and Furious' Shatters Box Office Records

Wow:
In the first truly shocking box office result of the year, "Fast & Furious" sped away from expectations to gross a humongous $72.5 million, according to early estimates from Media by Numbers.

That result is effectively double what most industry observers had predicted for the debut of the fourth feature in Vin Diesel's car franchise, and it left in the dust a number of notable records:

- Best April opening ever, beating "Anger Management's" $42.2 million.

- Best Universal Pictures opening ever (three-day), beating "The Lost World: Jurassic Park's" $72.1 million.

- Best F&F franchise opening ever, beating "2 Fast 2 Furious'" $50.5 million.

- Best opening yet in 2009, easily beating the bows of the more-buzzed-about "Monsters vs. Aliens" ($59.3 million) and "Watchmen" ($55.2 million).

- Best opening ever for stars Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, as well as for director Justin Lin.

Oh, and let's not forget that it was the best opening ever for a car-themed movie! (Beating "Cars'" $60.1 million.) This outcome is impressive, indeed, something that has caught Hollywood by surprise and has the potential to really change things up -- like when summer-esque blockbusters are released (rarely does one open so early in the year) and like, you know, what everyone thinks of Vin Diesel.

I was a huge fan of the first F&F, but after Diesel didn't show up for the sequel (which wasn't that bad, unlike F&F3 which was just God-awful) I was shocked when I first saw previews showing that Vin was coming back for this installment. Granted, there isn't much to see in the theaters nowadays, but considering that you can't blame anyone for being extra-careful about what they pluck down their $12.50 (that's NYC for ya) for these days, but this is truly shocking.

DKos' Markos Moulitsas Ignores Facts, Blames Conservatives For Cop Killings

They're just pure and simple slime:

Shortly before Markos Moulitsas blamed Glenn Beck for instigating the senseless shooting of three Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, police officers on Saturday, the proprietor of the far-left website Daily Kos said that conservatives would rather shoot cops than organize to win the next election.

He also wrote during the same Twitter discussion, "With no Veep to shoot people, folks are taking things into their own hands."

Such was revealed Sunday by a self-proclaimed Daily Kos diarist named Tommy Christopher who was so disgusted by these comments he has actually resigned his membership (h/t Hot Air via ConservaThink):

Once again the disgusting leader of Left side of the blogosphere shows its true colors as even BEFORE the Pittsburgh police department had a chance to conduct an investigation into 3 of their brave police officers being killed by some psycho, Dkos exploit's the tragedy to make political hay by pinning this senseless crime on the back of conservative pundits. Their proof? News reports quoting a supposed "best friend" who said that suspected killer Richard Poplawski shot the cops because he was afraid of "the Obama gun ban that's on the way."

Well, now it turns out the "best friend" was full of shit as apparently an argument over a cat urinating is what triggered the argument between Poplawski and his mom, who then called the cops, with the three cops shot and killed upon arriving at the Poplawski home. Will Moulitsas or any of the other insane liberals who exploited this tragedy to fuel their hate for conservatives apologize? Most likely not. If I were Glenn Beck I'd sue for defamation.

North Korea Ignores Obama, Launches Rocket

YahooNews.com:
North Korea fired a rocket over Japan on Sunday, defying Washington, Tokyo and others who suspect the launch was cover for a test of its long-range missile technology. President Barack Obama warned the move would further isolate the communist nation.

Liftoff took place at 11:30 a.m. (0230 GMT) from the coastal Musudan-ri launch pad in northeastern North Korea, the South Korean and U.S. governments said. The multistage rocket hurtled toward the Pacific, reaching Japanese airspace within seven minutes, but no debris appeared to hit its territory, officials in Tokyo said.

Four hours after the launch, North Korea declared it a success. An experimental communications satellite reached outer space in just over nine minutes and is orbiting, the state-run Korean Central News Agency said in a dispatch from Pyongyang.

"The satellite is transmitting the melodies 'Song of Gen. Kim Il Sung' and 'Song of Gen. Kim Jong Il' as well as measurement data back to Earth," it said, referring to the country's late founder and his son, its current leader.

Sunday's move was a bold act of defiance against Obama, Japanese leader Taro Aso, Hu Jintao of China and others who pressed Pyongyang in the days leading up to liftoff to cancel a launch they said would threaten peace and stability in Northeast Asia.

It's not like Dick Cheney didn't just warn us about the safety of our country as led by an Obama administration.

David Paterson Idiot Edition: Calls Binghampton Shooting "Worst Tragedy In NY State"

Since when did being blind make you dumb? When NY Governor David Paterson opens his mouth:

The American Civic Association's president, Angela Leach, was "very upset" and worried about her secretary, a friend at her home told reporters. "For some reason she had the day off today. She doesn't know anything, she's as shocked as anyone," said Mike Chanecka.

Others were left waiting for news of friends and relatives. Omri Yigal, an immigrant from the Philippines, said his wife Delores had been in an English lesson. "At this point, I know the scale of what happened, but I just hope Delores is okay," he said. "I haven't got any information. The only thing I have right now is hope."

The New York State Governor David Paterson said the shooting was "probably the worst crime and tragedy in the history of this city".

Yeah, surely worse than the 3,000-plus who died on Sept. 11, 2001, right Governor? Not that I'm trying to politicize this tragedy like the Left is doing, but Paterson has the kind of foot-in-mouth disease that would make Joe Biden blush and this was just another example of it.

UPDATE: The story linked here was taken from a piece at LATimes.com which noted that Paterson said "history of this state". That original LATimes piece has now been corrected to show that Paterson actually said "city", not "state".

Oscar De La Renta Slams Michelle Obama's Style And Wardrobe

HuffPo:

While Michelle Obama has made lesser known designers like Jason Wu, Thakoon, and Isabel Toledo household names by wearing their labels repeatedly--the first lady has worn Jason Wu at least three times on her European trip alone--WWD asks where the love has gone for big name designers like Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren. Bridget Foley writes that it would be a great boost to a fashion industry in economic crisis.

And it sounds like some designers are getting downright cranky.

Scroll down for excerpts or keep reading the password-protected story.

"American fashion right now is struggling," says Oscar de la Renta. "I think I understand what [Obama and her advisers] are doing, but I don't think that is the right message at this particular point....I don't object to the fact that Mrs. Obama is wearing J. Crew to whatever because the diversity of America is what makes this country great. But there are a lot of great designers out there. I think it's wrong to go in one direction only."

He also took a jab at the outfit the first lady wore to meet Queen Elizabeth: "'You don't...go to Buckingham Palace in a sweater.'"

Well, considering that Barack is a multi-millionaire, one can't help but wonder why he can't buy better outifts for the wife? Of course, the loot Barry could be spending on wifey could instead be on it's way to Martinigue, which would be understandable when you consider how stressful his job is, Barry is definitely have needs. But then Michelle's been catching a lot of flack from black designers as well, so who knows how much input Barry has in what wifey wears, much less who knows if Michelle is just clueless when it comes to fashion?

The French Have No Love For Michelle Obama

Woah, who knew that there were actually people on this planet who don't follow the American press in kowtowing to the "First Mom"?
I mean the nerve of these people:
Protesters in Strasbourg, France, forced a last-minute detour for First Lady Michelle Obama Saturday.

She and spouses of other leaders attending the NATO summit there had planned to tour a hospital. But protests blocked the way to the event, the first lady’s office said, prompting the visit to be scrapped.

Instead, France’s first lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, met Mrs. Obama and the other spouses for a tour of the Palais Rohan. They then resumed their planned schedule with a visit to Strasbourg’s Cathedral of Notre-Dame.

Iowa Shows Why We Need Constitutional Marriage Amendment

NYTimes.com:
Same-sex couples will be allowed to marry in Iowa by month’s end, after a ruling on Friday by the Iowa Supreme Court that found unconstitutional a state law limiting marriage to a man and a woman.

The unanimous decision moved the heated battle over same-sex marriage beyond the East and West Coasts to the nation’s middle. Only Massachusetts and Connecticut now allow same-sex marriages, while California permitted them for about six months before voters approved a ban in November.

“We are firmly convinced the exclusion of gay and lesbian people from the institution of civil marriage does not substantially further any important governmental objective,” Justice Mark S. Cady wrote for the seven-member court, adding later, “We have a constitutional duty to ensure equal protection of the law.”

Opponents of same-sex marriage pledged to fight the outcome, but acknowledged that there appeared to be no immediate way to undo it. The only avenue would be a constitutional amendment, but under Iowa law that process would take at least two years.
I doubt that it'll ever happen, Democrats will be in control for at least the next 2 to 4 years and there'll never be enough GOP pols with enough balls to vote for it anyway, but this country needs an amendment that will protect the tradition of marriage. By jumping on the roots of the Civil Rights Era, liberals are slowly turning marriage into a "right", all to endorse their own sexual depravity and reduce marriage to a sham. Turn marriage into a "right" and there'll be nothing to prevent polygamists and people who wish to marry their pets from being married. We're already seeing signs of this in Canada, where polygamists are now suing for the "right" to be married while using the country's "gay marriage" approval as justification.

And now for the "gay movement" here it's 3 states down with 47 to go. And what's to stop 'em? All they have to do is keep going to the courts and sure enough they'll eventually find some activist judge with an axe to grind to approve "gay marriage", no matter what the people think. It's that simple for them just like the tradition of marriage is that meaningless to them.
God, we live in some sick times.

Under Obama's Watch: Unemployment Rate Hits 8.5%, 660,000 Jobs Lost In March

NYTimes.com:
The American economy surrendered 663,000 more jobs in March as the unemployment rate surged to 8.5 percent, its highest level since 1983, the government reported Friday.

The latest snapshot of accelerating decline in the national job market lifted to 5.1 million the number of jobs lost since the recession began in December 2007. More than two million jobs have disappeared over the first three months alone.

The severity and breadth of the job losses — which afflicted nearly every industry outside of education and health care — prompted economists to conclude that an agonizing plunge in employment prospects was still unfolding, with no clear turnaround in sight.

“It’s really just about as bad as can be imagined,” said Dean Baker, a director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington. “There’s just no way we’re anywhere near a bottom. We’ll be really lucky if we stop losing jobs by the end of the year.”

Madonna's Adoption Rejected

CNN.com:
Madonna's petition to adopt a second Malawian child was rejected by a local judge Friday, an official said.

"The decision came down to residency requirement and the fact that the judge believes she was being well taken care of in the orphanage," said Zione Ntaba, a spokeswoman for the Malawi Justice Department.

"For the Malawians, the fact that the child is at an orphanage, is being taken care of and is going through the school education system, that does qualify as the best interests of a child," Ntaba added.

The 50-year-old pop star had filed a petition to adopt a girl, Chifundo James, 4, whose first name translates to mercy in Chichewa, the country's national language. She has three other children, including a son she adopted from the southern African nation in 2006.

Joe Biden Takes Credit For Bush Administration Earmark

Newsobserver.com:
Vice President Joe Biden brought a clear message to this tiny Eastern North Carolina town Wednesday: The federal recovery money isn't just for big banks and auto companies.

Biden and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced a new wave of $10.4 billion in federal stimulus money for home loans across the country, and billions more for essential services in rural communities such as Pikeville, which is getting money for a new fire station. Biden used the outdated, current station as a backdrop. Pikeville is just north of Goldsboro in Wayne County.

"We're investing in places like this all across the country," Biden said, "to demonstrate the vital role towns like this play in the recovery."

Most of the money for the station that was announced Wednesday, however, had been secured last year under the Bush administration, according to fire department officials.

State Sen. David Rouzer, a Republican who represents Pikeville and worked in the Agriculture Department under President Bush, said he helped secure the fire department money last year out of the federal agency's regular programs.

"They're coming in and cherry picking the best projects and switching out the money, saying it's stimulus money," Rouzer said. "But it was already approved and in the pipeline. It's totally disingenuous to come down here and say this is stimulus money, when regardless of whether a stimulus bill passed, they were getting the money."

This is what happens when you choose a clown to be your VP.

Judges Deal Norm Coleman A Huge Setback

It's gotten bleak for Norm Coleman as that clown Al Franken gets closer and closer to swiping a seat in the Senate:

A special court on Tuesday ordered further review of 400 absentee ballots in the Minnesota Senate race, dealing a crippling blow to Republican Norm Coleman's legal challenge against Democrat Al Franken's lead.

Coleman attorney Ben Ginsberg said the small amount of remaining ballots made it difficult for Coleman, who had asked to include 1,360 ballots, to erase Franken's current 225-vote lead. Within two hours of the ruling, Ginsberg warned of an appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court, arguing that the panel's ruling tolerated differing standards from county to county between the general election and the recount.

"You never give up hope but it becomes a much longer shot," said Ginsberg, who was part of the legal team that helped George W. Bush win the presidency in the 2000 Florida recount battle.

The judges were ruling in an election challenge filed by Coleman after a recount showed Franken with a 225-vote lead.

A Franken victory in the Senate race would make it easier for Democrats to advance President Barack Obama's agenda.

With Franken, the Democratic caucus would have 59 seats, including two independents, just one short of the 60 senators needed to overcome filibusters by the Republicans, a legislative maneuver to prevent measures from coming to a vote.

Michelle Obama Screws Up, Touches Queen Elizabeth

CNN.com:
The rules are set in stone and so the eagerly watching British media sputtered when the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, briefly put her hand on the back of the Queen Elizabeth II as the two chatted at a reception. Etiquette is quite stern about this: "Whatever you do, don't touch the Queen!!!" In 2007, John Howard, then prime minister of Australia, got plenty of criticism for apparently putting his arm around the Queen to direct her through a crowd. He denied actually touching her but photographs did make it look like his arm came quite close. (Another former Australian prime minister actually did put his hand on the Queen in a similar circumstance and was branded "the Lizard of Oz.") Of course, there are corollaries to this. One must certainly touch the Queen if the monarch offers her hand (though you should return this not with a firm handshake, but just a touch).

On Wednesday, Michelle Obama put her hand on the Queen only after the Queen had placed her own hand on the First Lady's back as part of their conversation. So there is room for theological argument as to whether the American reciprocity of touch is allowable given the social dynamics of the situation. (Less explicable is the previous President, George W. Bush, winking at the Queen.) Still, the sight of anyone apparently touching the Queen in anything more than a limp handshake is enough to send the British (or traditionalists in the old Commonwealth) twittering.
What is wrong with this woman? It's enough that because of the Vera Baker scandal (that the mainstream press refuses to talk about, much less mention) Obama is now forced to drag wifey along to all his trips overseas, but now she's gotta make a fool out of him and our great nation by ignoring standard protocol and touching Queen Elizabeth when she's not supposed to? Unbelievable. Who does Michelle Obama think she is? And shouldn't the "First Mom" be home anyway, yunno making sure the kids stay outta trouble? Last thing Barry needs is wifey with her watchful eyes and her leash hanging around everywhere he goes.
