Since when did being blind make you dumb? When NY Governor David Paterson opens his mouth:

The American Civic Association's president, Angela Leach, was "very upset" and worried about her secretary, a friend at her home told reporters. "For some reason she had the day off today. She doesn't know anything, she's as shocked as anyone," said Mike Chanecka.

Others were left waiting for news of friends and relatives. Omri Yigal, an immigrant from the Philippines, said his wife Delores had been in an English lesson. "At this point, I know the scale of what happened, but I just hope Delores is okay," he said. "I haven't got any information. The only thing I have right now is hope."

The New York State Governor David Paterson said the shooting was "probably the worst crime and tragedy in the history of this city".

Yeah, surely worse than the 3,000-plus who died on Sept. 11, 2001, right Governor? Not that I'm trying to politicize this tragedy like the Left is doing, but Paterson has the kind of foot-in-mouth disease that would make Joe Biden blush and this was just another example of it.

Bridget Foley writes that it would be a great boost to a fashion industry in economic crisis.

And it sounds like some designers are getting downright cranky.

Well, considering that Barack is a multi-millionaire, one can't help but wonder why he can't buy better outifts for the wife? Of course, the loot Barry could be spending on wifey could instead be on it's way to Martinigue, which would be understandable when you consider how stressful his job is, Barry is definitely have needs. But then Michelle's been catching a lot of flack from black designers as well, so who knows how much input Barry has in what wifey wears, much less who knows if Michelle is just clueless when it comes to fashion?

Iowa Shows Why We Need Constitutional Marriage Amendment

Same-sex couples will be allowed to marry in Iowa by month’s end, after a ruling on Friday by the Iowa Supreme Court that found unconstitutional a state law limiting marriage to a man and a woman.

The unanimous decision moved the heated battle over same-sex marriage beyond the East and West Coasts to the nation’s middle. Only Massachusetts and Connecticut now allow same-sex marriages, while California permitted them for about six months before voters approved a ban in November.

“We are firmly convinced the exclusion of gay and lesbian people from the institution of civil marriage does not substantially further any important governmental objective,” Justice Mark S. Cady wrote for the seven-member court, adding later, “We have a constitutional duty to ensure equal protection of the law.”

Opponents of same-sex marriage pledged to fight the outcome, but acknowledged that there appeared to be no immediate way to undo it. The only avenue would be a constitutional amendment, but under Iowa law that process would take at least two years.

I doubt that it'll ever happen, Democrats will be in control for at least the next 2 to 4 years and there'll never be enough GOP pols with enough balls to vote for it anyway, but this country needs an amendment that will protect the tradition of marriage. By jumping on the roots of the Civil Rights Era, liberals are slowly turning marriage into a "right", all to endorse their own sexual depravity and reduce marriage to a sham. Turn marriage into a "right" and there'll be nothing to prevent polygamists and people who wish to marry their pets from being married. We're already seeing signs of this in Canada, where polygamists are now suing for the "right" to be married while using the country's "gay marriage" approval as justification.

And now for the "gay movement" here it's 3 states down with 47 to go. And what's to stop 'em? All they have to do is keep going to the courts and sure enough they'll eventually find some activist judge with an axe to grind to approve "gay marriage", no matter what the people think. It's that simple for them just like the tradition of marriage is that meaningless to them. God, we live in some sick times.

Under Obama's Watch: Unemployment Rate Hits 8.5%, 660,000 Jobs Lost In March

The American economy surrendered 663,000 more jobs in March as the unemployment rate surged to 8.5 percent, its highest level since 1983, the government reported Friday.

The latest snapshot of accelerating decline in the national job market lifted to 5.1 million the number of jobs lost since the recession began in December 2007. More than two million jobs have disappeared over the first three months alone.

The severity and breadth of the job losses — which afflicted nearly every industry outside of education and health care — prompted economists to conclude that an agonizing plunge in employment prospects was still unfolding, with no clear turnaround in sight.

“It’s really just about as bad as can be imagined,” said Dean Baker, a director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington. “There’s just no way we’re anywhere near a bottom. We’ll be really lucky if we stop losing jobs by the end of the year.”

Madonna's Adoption Rejected

Madonna's petition to adopt a second Malawian child was rejected by a local judge Friday, an official said.

"The decision came down to residency requirement and the fact that the judge believes she was being well taken care of in the orphanage," said Zione Ntaba, a spokeswoman for the Malawi Justice Department.

"For the Malawians, the fact that the child is at an orphanage, is being taken care of and is going through the school education system, that does qualify as the best interests of a child," Ntaba added.

The 50-year-old pop star had filed a petition to adopt a girl, Chifundo James, 4, whose first name translates to mercy in Chichewa, the country's national language. She has three other children, including a son she adopted from the southern African nation in 2006.

Joe Biden Takes Credit For Bush Administration Earmark

Vice President Joe Biden brought a clear message to this tiny Eastern North Carolina town Wednesday: The federal recovery money isn't just for big banks and auto companies.

Biden and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced a new wave of $10.4 billion in federal stimulus money for home loans across the country, and billions more for essential services in rural communities such as Pikeville, which is getting money for a new fire station. Biden used the outdated, current station as a backdrop. Pikeville is just north of Goldsboro in Wayne County.

"We're investing in places like this all across the country," Biden said, "to demonstrate the vital role towns like this play in the recovery."

Most of the money for the station that was announced Wednesday, however, had been secured last year under the Bush administration, according to fire department officials.

State Sen. David Rouzer, a Republican who represents Pikeville and worked in the Agriculture Department under President Bush, said he helped secure the fire department money last year out of the federal agency's regular programs.

"They're coming in and cherry picking the best projects and switching out the money, saying it's stimulus money," Rouzer said. "But it was already approved and in the pipeline. It's totally disingenuous to come down here and say this is stimulus money, when regardless of whether a stimulus bill passed, they were getting the money."

Judges Deal Norm Coleman A Huge Setback

It's gotten bleak for Norm Coleman as that clown Al Franken gets closer and closer to swiping a seat in the Senate:

A special court on Tuesday ordered further review of 400 absentee ballots in the Minnesota Senate race, dealing a crippling blow to Republican Norm Coleman's legal challenge against Democrat Al Franken's lead.

Coleman attorney Ben Ginsberg said the small amount of remaining ballots made it difficult for Coleman, who had asked to include 1,360 ballots, to erase Franken's current 225-vote lead. Within two hours of the ruling, Ginsberg warned of an appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court, arguing that the panel's ruling tolerated differing standards from county to county between the general election and the recount.

"You never give up hope but it becomes a much longer shot," said Ginsberg, who was part of the legal team that helped George W. Bush win the presidency in the 2000 Florida recount battle.

The judges were ruling in an election challenge filed by Coleman after a recount showed Franken with a 225-vote lead.

A Franken victory in the Senate race would make it easier for Democrats to advance President Barack Obama's agenda.

With Franken, the Democratic caucus would have 59 seats, including two independents, just one short of the 60 senators needed to overcome filibusters by the Republicans, a legislative maneuver to prevent measures from coming to a vote.

Michelle Obama Screws Up, Touches Queen Elizabeth

The rules are set in stone and so the eagerly watching British media sputtered when the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, briefly put her hand on the back of the Queen Elizabeth II as the two chatted at a reception. Etiquette is quite stern about this: "Whatever you do, don't touch the Queen!!!" In 2007, John Howard, then prime minister of Australia, got plenty of criticism for apparently putting his arm around the Queen to direct her through a crowd. He denied actually touching her but photographs did make it look like his arm came quite close. (Another former Australian prime minister actually did put his hand on the Queen in a similar circumstance and was branded "the Lizard of Oz.") Of course, there are corollaries to this. One must certainly touch the Queen if the monarch offers her hand (though you should return this not with a firm handshake, but just a touch).

On Wednesday, Michelle Obama put her hand on the Queen only after the Queen had placed her own hand on the First Lady's back as part of their conversation. So there is room for theological argument as to whether the American reciprocity of touch is allowable given the social dynamics of the situation. (Less explicable is the previous President, George W. Bush, winking at the Queen.) Still, the sight of anyone apparently touching the Queen in anything more than a limp handshake is enough to send the British (or traditionalists in the old Commonwealth) twittering.

What is wrong with this woman? It's enough that because of the Vera Baker scandal (that the mainstream press refuses to talk about, much less mention) Obama is now forced to drag wifey along to all his trips overseas, but now she's gotta make a fool out of him and our great nation by ignoring standard protocol and touching Queen Elizabeth when she's not supposed to? Unbelievable. Who does Michelle Obama think she is? And shouldn't the "First Mom" be home anyway, yunno making sure the kids stay outta trouble? Last thing Barry needs is wifey with her watchful eyes and her leash hanging around everywhere he goes.

Angie Harmon Is Not A Fan Of Barack Obama

Actress Angie Harmon dislikes the way President Barack Obama is running the country, calling him more "inexperienced" than Sarah Palin. While some are calling her racist, Harmon says ethnicity has nothing to do with it.

"If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist," Harmon told Pop Tarts.

"But it has nothing to do with it, I don't care what color he is. I'm just not crazy about what he's doing and I heard all about this, and he's gonna do that and change and change, so okay ... I'm still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we've got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that's the thing I really don't appreciate. If I'm going to disagree with my President, that doesn't make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn't make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous," Harmon said.

Harmon is still rooting for Republican John McCain. "I do think McCain would have done a better job, only because I think he has more experience. I also think if W or John McCain or Reagan would have gone and done a talk show, the backlash would have been so huge and in his face, and 'What is our president doing? How unclassy!' But Obama does it and no one says anything," Harmon said.

Harmon even thinks Sarah Palin would have done a better job running the country than Obama. "I admire any kind of woman like her. My whole motto is to know what I stand for and know what I don't stand for and have the courage to live my life accordingly and she does exactly that. The fact that this woman has made the decisions she's made and literally lived her life according to that and takes heat for it is absolutely disgusting to me," she added.

"I really think they're afraid of her and her morals, ethics and values and the fact that she hangs on them. Is she the most experienced person in the world? But she was running to be the Vice President, so we then put the most inexperienced person as the President. That didn't make any sense to me," Harmon said.

So far I haven't noticed any far-Left loons calling Harmon a "racist" for criticizing Barry, but that doesn't mean that they're not out there or that they're not coming. Kudos to Ms. Harmon for having the balls to speak out against Celebrity Barry and his inept running of the country since he took office. We all know that liberal Hollyweird doesn't take too kindly to anyone speaking out against their Teleprompter-In-Chief, so hopefully the hypocrites in the so-called "tolerant" crowd don't seek to blacklist Ms. Harmon for speaking her mind. After all, this is America and you have a right to not agree with the policies of a Socialist President.

Virginia Governor Tom Kaine Says No To Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, has signed a bill into law banning the use of state funds for embryonic stem cell research.

The move puts the DNC chairman at odds with President Obama, who signed an executive order earlier this month reversing the Bush administration's ban on federal funding for research on embryonic stem cells.

Kaine approved the Virginia bill on Monday, according to the governor's office, the same day he enacted legislation that would permit "Choose Life" license plates in the commonwealth — an act that angered state and national abortion rights advocates.

The governor signed another piece of legislation Monday aimed at promoting "science and technology-based" research and development in Virginia. It contains language inserted by the General Assembly that would prevent a state fund from providing dollars to organizations or businesses that undertake "research in Virginia on human cells or tissue derived from induced abortions or from stem cells obtained from human embryos."

Good for Tom Kaine. Many in the public are just not aware of the fact that embryonic stem cell research endangers women's health and hasn't shown any signs that it can cure diseases. Anti-God, liberal propaganda serves as the base of those who continue to push for embryonic stem cell research. There's no question about that.

Oprah Winfrey's School Has Another Lesbian Sex Scandal On Its Hands

Didn't man-hating Oprah just guarantee parents of students in her African school for girls that this kind of stuff wouldn't happen again:

Oprah Winfrey's boarding school in South Africa has been hit with a second sex scandal since opening two years ago.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy School for Girls suspended seven students last week for sexually harassing and fondling classmates, the New York Daily News reported.

The News quoted from a South Africa newspaper that reported one 15-year-old had urged her victims to lie to investigators about what happened. Others were accused of trying to entice students at the all-girl academy into lesbian encounters, the News reported.

A Winfrey spokesperson confirmed the girls' suspension to the News, but was mum on details.

The incident is the second sexually-related scandal to rock the $46 million school, which Chicago-based talk show host and media mogul Winfrey opened in Jan. 2007 to educate poor South African girls who showed strong academic potential.

Just 10 months after the school opened, the school's dorm matron, Virginia Makgobo, was accused of sex abuse and other charges involving 15 girls. She will appear in court in June, according to the News.

Winfrey, a victim of sexual abuse herself, wept on air when discussing the scandal at the time. In response, she gave out her cell phone number to every girl at the academy and fired the school's headmistress.

Will Oprah have to dedicate another show to her troubled school so she can cry on TV and make people feel sorry for her--all so this latest school sex scandal goes away? Or will the same Ms. Winfrey, who promotes the idea of women leaving men for women in her magazine, be called out by the national media for the blatant signs negligence and aloofness she's shown towards her girls-only school. Maybe too, some journalist with balls can exploit this story and do a feature on how plenty of studies have shown that the liberal idea of single-gender schools are not only sexist, but do not work. But I doubt all that, as that would be asking too much of a leftist media that worships Her Royal Highness Winfrey's ass every chance it gets. Plus, the idea of women abusing women would surely go against Oprah's longstanding campaign that says only men do that kind of stuff.

FOX Doing Dating Show For Dudes Who Love "Fat" Women

A new Fox reality dating show, titled More to Love, has began casting its "average-looking" contestants, according to The Hollywood Reporter. With a format similar to The Bachelor (Bachelor exec producer Mike Fleiss is teaming up with Mike Darnell, Fox's president of alternative programming, on the series),the contestants will vie for one man, who is being labeled as a "Kevin James type," by going on lavish dates.

One new category being added to the mix: makeovers... but not of the physical kind. "We want to send the message that you can be the size you are and still be lovable," Fleiss told THR. "We aren't going to thin these girls down so they can find love -- that's a backwards message." Adds Darnell, "For six years it's been skinny-minis and good-looking bachelors, and that's not what the dating world looks like." No air date for the series has been set.

Hey, in a society obsessed with looks and size-2, airhead pin-up dolls, I say it's about time a dating show like this was born. The average woman wears a size 14 dress, yet liberal Hollywood, for all their claims to be "tolerant", rarely, if ever, showcases big girls (unless they're rich, leftwing, lunatics Oprah or Rosie O'Donnell). Besides that, I'm sick of always having to look at these anorexic, bulimia-suffering "models" on TV all the time (being able to see your ribs from the outside is not "average"). Shoot, I'll take one of those chicks in that "average women" Dove ad over Angelina Jolie or Jessica Alba any day of the week.

Bill O'Reilly To Boycott Sean Penn's Films

The conservative host of "The O'Reilly Factor" says his political views affect his entertainment choices.

In a recent interview, Bill O'Reilly told the Hollywood Reporter that it's his "right as an American" to boycott Sean Penn's films, Reuters reports.

"He's a great actor," said the popular Fox pundit. "If you hire him, you'll get a good performance. I'm just not going to give a guy who gives aid and comfort to people like Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein, when he was alive, my 10 bucks. That's my right as an American."

Since the release Penn's Oscar-winning film, "Milk," the actor has focused his political efforts on gay rights, vocally supporting gay marriage and lobbying for a "Harvey Milk" day to commemorate the work of the gay rights pioneer he portrayed onscreen.

Chief Justice John Roberts Not Liberal Enough For Harry Reid

I understand that we're long past the point where just being qualified for the job matters when it comes to being seated on the Supreme Court, but does Harry Reid have to be such a tool and make it so obvious:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts did not "tell us the truth" during his 2005 confirmation hearings, suggesting Roberts misled senators into believing he was more moderate than he really was.

According to Politico.com, Reid complained about Roberts during a discussion hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

"Roberts didn't tell us the truth. At least (Samuel) Alito told us who he was," Reid said, according to the article.

"But we're stuck with those two young men, and we'll try to change by having some moderates in the federal courts system as time goes on -- I think that will happen."

According to Politico.com, while Reid said Democrats will try to bring more moderates to the bench, he said they will not try to block Republicans' ability to filibuster nominees.

The White House was plunged into turmoil Saturday as an explosive video emerged allegedly showing Vice President Biden's daughter snorting cocaine at a Delaware house party.

The shocking video of Ashley Biden, 27, was shot this year and is being peddled for $250,000, a lawyer representing the seller told RadarOnline.com.

The White House did not return requests for comment Saturday night. The vice president, who was attending a summit in Chile Saturday, could not be reached.

The tape, viewed by several news agencies, allegedly shows a man cutting up five lines of what appear to be cocaine.

Moments later, a woman - identified by the person selling the tape as Ashley Biden - jokes that the lines aren't large enough, RadarOnline.com reported.

The unidentified man then hands over a rolled-up dollar bill, and the young woman with brown hair strolls to the table where the white powder was cut, pulls back her hair, reaches down and snorts a line, according to reports.

Damn, what's up with all these loser relatives of the Obama-Biden team? Either they're living on a dollar a month homeless, staying here illegally or they're on YouTube doing crack. God forbid something happen to Barry O, because the last thing we need are drug dealers making pit stops at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, much less a First Daughter sneaking around the White House Tea Room to sniff some blow. But really, here's my question--how about a response on this serious matter from the VP? After all, what are you saying when the mainstream press is running stories about your daughter doing coke by remaining silent? Besides that, the American people deserve some answers Joe.

And last week in Passaic County, authorities accused a 14-year-old Clifton girl of distributing child pornography, saying she posted nude portraits of herself on MySpace.

In a growing number of states, law enforcement agencies are cracking down on teens who use cell phones and social networking sites to share lurid photographs. Prosecutors say they are trying to stamp out a dangerous trend. But their use of stringent child-pornography and sex-offender laws has ignited a debate.

Teenagers who post nude pictures of themselves on social networking sites are stupid, desperate for attention and need better parental supervision (and if there isn't any available then they should be taken out of the home). Megan's Law was created to protect children from sexual predators and it's wrong for the criminal justice system to exploit it for this nonsense. Parents are legally responsible for kids till they're 18 for a reason, lock one of them up if their kids are putting sexually explicit pictures of themselves online as there is obviously a lack of training in the home.
