College Loon Arrested After Rushing Ann Coulter Stage

Ewing Police arrest student at Ann Coulter lecture

MSNBC.com:
The entangled arrest of a College of New Jersey student is captured by amateur video.

According to Alex Zdan and James Queally of nj.com, amateur video of a local college student being arrested does not show any evidence of police brutality, despite the student's claim of "blatantly excessive force."

The video, obtained Wednesday by The Times, shows College of New Jersey student Michael Tracey on the ground and screaming as officers attempt to arrest him following a speech by political commentator Ann Coulter last week.

The partial video does not show Tracey being wrestled to the ground.

No violence is evident and Tracey is not struck in the footage, which begins with him already on the ground and officers kneeling over him.
Insane. But then loons like Michael Tracy are now the face of the Left.

Obama Presidency Causing Teenage Girls To Be Out Of Control

Lib Talker Mike Malloy Laughs At Wife's Racist Bobby Jindal Joke

If you've never heard of Mike Malloy he's just another failed Air America talk-show host and far-Left pundit who called the GOP "domestic terrorists" not too long ago. Of course, most conservatives know full well that many white liberals are among the most racist people in the business, it's black liberals that have the most trouble catching on, much less doing anything about this fact.

Pompous D-List Actress Janeane Garafalo Disses Rush Limbaugh

It's just funny how FAILED left-wing pundits just can't contain their hate for Rush Limbaugh. His continued SUCCESS just riles them, so much so that the new liberal mantra is to anoint Limbaugh as the new "leader of the Right," in turn making Limbaugh even more POPULAR than he already is. Wow, those liberals are such geniuses!!!

Barnes And Noble Issues Lame Excuse For Racist Store Display

TheDefendersOnline.com:
“Sometimes things aren’t always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many; the intelligence of a few perceives what has been carefully hidden . . .” so said Phaedrus, a first century Roman slave and writer of Greek tales.

In recent days, a photograph of a Barnes and Noble book display honoring the inauguration of President Barack Obama has gone viral over the Internet because it prominently includes a book about monkeys with the other titles. The circulation of this photo with calls to boycott the book chain comes in the wake of protests and editorials over a racist cartoon published by The New York Post that featured President Obama as an ape being gunned down by police officers.

But hold on to your wigs and britches folks. Before the NAACP, Rev. Al Sharpton and other concerned citizens pick up signs and start making demands to fire managers and employees or telling consumers to stop buying books from Barnes and Noble, there is another side to the story.

Yes the photo is authentic. And yes the incident did happen at the Coral Gables, Florida store. But it turns out that it was a cruel joke by a customer and not a decision made by the store.

“This was not a company driven decision,” Edgar Chang, the store manager, said in an interview with TheDefendersOnline. “We are not sure how the book got in the window, but we believe it was put there by a customer who didn’t like the fact that Obama won the election.”

I'm not buying this apology. How does a customer get the time to place a book in a store window? Much less, how does the monkey book stay there long enough for people walking on the street to take photos? This sounds like the work of a bigot store employee. This Barnes & Noble store needs to conduct a thorough investigation of its workers, because so far their excuse sounds pretty lame.

Patty Murray Now Rated Most Liberal Senator

Of course this position once belonged to Barack Obama, and he's...ummm, the President now. So don't say you weren't warned:

According to the National Journal’s annual vote ratings, the 2008 honors for the Senate’s most liberal member went to Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. Four Republicans – John Barrasso and Michael Enzi of Wyoming, John Ensign of Nevada and Jon Kyl of Arizona shared the distinction of being rated most conservative in that chamber.

Meanwhile, the House ratings saw 12 Democrats from six states ranked as most liberal. Three Republicans – Paul Broun of Georgia, Trent Franks of Arizona and Jeb Hensarling of Texas – were considered the most conservative.

Included in the list of the most liberal House members: Robert Brady, D-Penn., Grace Napolitano, D-Calif., George Miller, D-Calif., Jackie Speier, D-Calif., Louise Slaughter, D-NY, Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., and Nydia Velasquez, D-NY – all with a composite score of 93.2.

Rep. Barney Frank, Democrat of Massachusetts, didn’t quite make the top dozen – scoring a respectable 90.7 on the liberal meter.

The ratings, a National Journal tradition since 1981, are considered a definitive source of insight on congressional voting trends. Last year’s ratings ranked Barack Obama as the Senate’s most liberal member.

Obama's Popularity After First Month Lags Bush

Newsmax.com:

The media may be smitten with President Barack Obama, but recent Gallup poll results show Americans giving the new president lower marks after one month in the White House than former President George W. Bush earned at the same point in his administration.

Heading into this week's address to Congress, the Gallup figures showed 59 percent of Americans approved of Obama's efforts so far, while 25 percent disapproved, and 16 percent had no opinion. According to PollingReport.com, President Bush had a 62 percent approval rating one month into his first term, with 21 percent disapproving, and 17 percent having no opinion.

For the first time since Gallup began tracking Barack Obama's presidential job approval rating on Jan. 21, fewer than 60 percent of Americans approve of the job he is doing as president, the Gallup report reads. The drop below 60 percent approval was fueled largely by a drop in satisfaction among independents, Gallup pollsters added.

Late last week, polls showed 62 percent of independents approved of Obama, compared with 54 percent in the last three days, according to NewsBusters. Obama's approval rating among Democrats has dipped slightly, while approval among Republicans has not changed significantly.

While it may be difficult to tell from the glowing media accounts of his fledgling administration, even Obama's highest approval numbers were never all that special. Gary Langer, director of polling at ABC News reports that Obama's early ratings are in line with the one-month of George H. W. Bush, John F. Kennedy, and even Jimmy Carter.

It should be noted too that Bush's first month poll numbers came after he won a "controversial" election.

Joe The Plumber Not A Fan Of Obama's Speech

Joe better be careful, dissent in this country isn't appreciated now that the Messiah is in charge.

Senate Blocks FCC From Revisiting Fairness Doctrine

TheHill.com:
The Senate voted Thursday in favor of an amendment to the District of Columbia voting-rights bill that would prohibit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reinstating the so-called Fairness Doctrine, which critics say would decimate conservative talk radio.

The Senate passed the measure 87-11.

Republicans have introduced the Broadcaster Freedom Act in the House as well, but Democrats are not expected to allow a vote on the bill. Legislation would have to pass both chambers of Congress and receive President Obama’s signature.

The FCC first implemented the doctrine in the late 1940s to balance the political content of broadcasters, requiring them to give equal time to liberal and conservative viewpoints.
The agency scrapped the regulation in the mid-'80s after determining that it was no longer necessary because the public had a wide array of political news sources from which to choose.
Good. I mean, when even Bill Clinton comes out of his face to support a return of the Fairness Doctrine, the GOP has no choice but to step up and kill the momentum. Besides FOX, Liberals already dominate the press, yet the greedy bastards on the Left still aren't satisfied. Amazing.

Rupert Murdoch Apologizes, Al Sharpton Should Accept Apology And Move On

NYDailyNews.com:
The New York Post issued a second, more contrite apology Tuesday for a controversial cartoon that some critics called racist.

Declaring "the buck stops with me," Post Chairman Rupert Murdoch called the cartoon - which critics believe compared President Barack Obama to the rampaging chimpanzee that mauled a woman in Stamford, Conn., last week - "a mistake."

"We ran a cartoon that offended many people. Today I want to personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted," Murdoch wrote in the apology, posted on the newspaper's website.

Murdoch contended that the cartoon was meant to mock the stimulus bill and that, "It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such."

The cartoon, which ran in last Wednesday's newspaper, featured the bullet-filled body of a chimp resembling Travis, the animal in the Stamford attack. Two cops stood over the animal with a caption reading, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."

The Rev. Al Sharpton, director Spike Lee and others have been calling for boycotts of the newspaper and an investigation by the Federal Communications Commission into Murdoch's ownership of several media outlets in the city.

Sure, one could make a legitimate case that the idiot cartoonist, Sean Delonis, and whatever Post editor that gave the go-ahead for the cartoon to be printed should be at the very least suspended. I'd be cool with that. But I'm a New York who reads the Post almost every day, and while it certainly can be foul at times, a newspaper with a racist agenda wouldn't survive a day in liberal New York City. Bottom line, the Post f-cked up and the publisher of the paper made an almost unprecedented move and apologized for the screw-up. The people's voice was heard loud and clear on this one and we all should be on the lookout if and when the Post f-cks up again on this level. Al Sharpton and his wholly band of rabble rousers can move on now, if not, they make this about promoting their race-baiting agenda, instead of any real interest in showing and getting people to see the error of their ways.

Clueless Joe doesn't know the number to his own website, but wait....the "number" is "recovery.gov". There, that's it. Idiot.

States To Consider Getting Rid Of Death Penalty

Good:
When Gov. Martin O’Malley appeared before the Maryland Senate last week, he made an unconventional argument that is becoming increasingly popular in cash-strapped states: abolish the death penalty to cut costs.

Mr. O’Malley, a Democrat and a Roman Catholic who has cited religious opposition to the death penalty in the past, is now arguing that capital cases cost three times as much as homicide cases where the death penalty is not sought. “And we can’t afford that,” he said, “when there are better and cheaper ways to reduce crime.”

Lawmakers in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and New Hampshire have made the same argument in recent months as they push bills seeking to repeal the death penalty, and experts say such bills have a good chance of passing in Maryland, Montana and New Mexico.

Death penalty opponents say they still face an uphill battle, but they are pleased to have allies raising the economic argument.
I'm for whatever it takes to abolish the death penalty. Capital punishment does not deter crime, it is racist, kills innocents and serves no purpose other than vengeance. The sooner we get rid of it, the better we move towards becoming a civilized society.

Polls Show Gov. David Paterson In Trouble

Newsmax.com:

A new poll released Tuesday shows Gov. David Paterson slumping to the lowest job approval and favorability ratings since he took office almost a year ago.

The Siena College Research Institute also looked at potential 2010 election matchups and found the Democrat trailing Republican Rudy Giuliani — 51 percent to 36 percent — despite a 2-to-1 enrollment advantage for Democrats in New York. They were in a dead heat a month ago. The poll shows Democratic Attorney General Andrew Cuomo leading Paterson 51 to 38 percent in another possible contest. Neither Giuliani nor Cuomo have said they will challenge Paterson in 2010.

The grim news for Paterson comes as he most needs the power of persuasion and public support to deal with the state's fiscal crisis. He is under pressure from special interests that are mounting million-dollar ad campaigns to trash spending cuts in the austere budget he has proposed to the Legislature.

"The commercials against the governor's budget proposals are having an impact," said Steven Greenberg, spokesman for the Siena poll. "More than 80 percent of voters are concerned that the proposed budget cuts in health and education would adversely affect the quality of health care and education in New York."

I don't believe that Paterson is in as much trouble as the press makes it seem. Sure, he's done some dumb stuff (like bragging early on about extramarital affairs and his handling of the Caroline Kennedy-for-Senator episode was inept), but considering that he had to come in under the cloud of the disgrace that is Eliot Spitzer, deal with a state budget that's been a headache for eons and a struggling economy in general, unless he pulls a Spitzer and does something really stupid between now and then, I think he deserves to be the Dem choice for Governor come 2010...especially if Rudy Giuliani is the GOP pick.

Obama's Speech: Blame Bush!!!

BO still doesn't come off as 'Presidential' to me. More like some dude in a suit who kidnapped the real President, snuck by everyone, grabbed the mike and gave the nation a rather boring speech.

Really now, should anyone be surprised that he blamed Bush ("a deficit I inherited...") tonight, this being the same guy who claims that he wants to "move forward"?

The speech didn't move me in any way and he was vague on a lot of issues. But I'll give BO some credit for pointing the need for more Americans to get an education (not that President Bush didn't make that very same point through both his two terms).

What really bothered me was that there was no talk of self-responsibility.

Bobby Jindal had every right to call this whole stimulus plan and speech "irresponsible".

Gov. Bobby Jindal To Deliver GOP Response To Obama State Of The Union

Newsmax.com:

Even as Bobby Jindal carries the weight of the Republican Party with the official GOP response to President Barack Obama’s lobbying speech for his $787 billion bill stimulus package tonight, the Louisiana governor’s own political future weighs heavily on his message.

Indeed, some political observers cast the addresses as the initial duel between the two if Jindal were to become the GOP’s candidate challenging Obama in 2012, as some suggest could happen.

Jindal, who was on Sen. John McCain’s short list for vice-presidential candidates last year, has continued to attract media attention, especially after joining a cadre of GOP governors who spurned stimulus money because of strings attached.

Jindal said he would reject almost $100 million tabbed for his state, mostly because Louisiana would have to continue funding programs after the stimulus expires.

“It would be like spending a dollar to make a dime,” Jindal said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday. “I just have a fundamental disagreement with this package.”

He said he would accept the stimulus money to increase unemployment benefits by $25 a week. But he drew the line at accepting money to expand eligibility for unemployment, saying it would increase employer taxes.

Great pick by the GOP. And I'm not saying that because of Jindal's race--Jindal is just smart enough to articulate the concerns most Americans have about BO's pork-filled stimulus plan that does nothing but subsidize failure. Plus, he doesn't listen to far-Right pundits who just disagree with whatever their peers on the Left say. Instead, Jindal offers solutions, isn't afraid to speak his mind (even it offends those within his own party) and he's backed up his stance on the stimulus package by refusing to take any money. Granted, Jindal's speech will push him further into the national spotlight, but he's already stated that he's not running for President in 2012 and I'm still of the opinion that Mitt Romney is the best candidate for the GOP to run against BO in the next election anyway. For Jindal this is a chance to speak for moderates and conservative Democrats like myself, so I know I'll be listening.

11-Year-Old Jordan Brown Owned A Gun

News.sky.com:

Jordan Brown is alleged to have shot the woman in the back of the head and then got on a school bus and went to class in Pennsylvania.

The youngster has been charged as an adult because state law allows prosecutors to charge children as young as 10 with criminal homicide.

But a prison warden says he will ask a judge to move the boy from an adult facility to a juvenile detention centre because the jail cannot accommodate the child.

Lawrence County Warden Charles Adamo says the jail, which houses about 300 prisoners, cannot offer proper long-term care for Brown.

The young suspect is accused of killing 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houkwho with a shotgun, which apparently belonged to him.

Authorities said the model 20-gauge shotgun was thought to have been found in the boy's bedroom.

It is designed for children and such weapons do not have to be registered.

"Designed for children"?!? It's cases like these that makes me shake my head at all the gun nuts and 2nd Amendment enthusiasts out there. Call me insane, but what rational reason is there for an 11-year-old kid to be owning a gun? I mean, when will people stop making it about politics and realize that the sheer stupidity of some of our nation's guns laws are in turn, killing lots of innocent people?

Barack Finally Puts Americans First, Instead Of Terrorists

AFP.com:
Despite President Barack Obama's moves to ban torture and close Guantanamo Bay, human rights advocates are angry some policies toward "terror" detainees do not depart enough from those of the previous administration.

Three announcements on Friday had rights advocates and lawyers questioning whether the Obama administration was continuing the policies of George W. Bush, which provoked outrage around the world.

A Pentagon report on the Guantanamo detention camp, which was ordered by Obama, drew a hail of fire for claiming that conditions for inmates are in line with Geneva Conventions and other legal obligations.

The report's conclusion contrasted sharply with claims made by lawyers who regularly visit detainees at the remote prison at a US Naval base in Cuba.

"Outrage around the world"??? No, just outrage from denizens from the far-Left who deem the rights of criminals to be more important than the safety of Americans. Perhaps this an example of Obama finally using common sense, better yet turning a deaf ear to most of those in the loony bin who wanted Billary for President instead of him.
