Liberal Actor Matt Damon Just Discovers Plight In Zimbabwe

AP:
An emotional Matt Damon listened to a Zimbabwean woman describe how she was raped while pregnant on a perilous journey across the border into South Africa.

The Hollywood actor visited refugee centers in Musina on the South African border with Zimbabwe as part of his work with the human rights organization he started with a number of other celebrities.

An estimated 3 million Zimbabweans have fled the economic collapse and dire humanitarian conditions in their country for South Africa.

Damon said in an exclusive interview with the AP Tuesday that he was "shocked and saddened" by the plight of the people he had spoken to. He said conditions were "untenable" and called on international and regional leaders to take action.

Good to see Matt Damon catch up to most of the rest of the world that's known about the South Africa's plight for years now. That could be why former President George W. Bush did so much for the region, more than any other U.S. president before him, while in office. Not that Damon, who had no problem sticking it to Sarah Palin during last year's presidential campaign, would ever acknowledge such a thing even if he knew about it (much less the fact that Bill Clinton did nothing for Rwanda during his two terms). And don't you just love it when these rich, Hollywood liberals go on these self-serving, enlightenment "fact-finding" trips ("Look at me! I'm helping some brown and black people!!!"), it's gotta make them feel so good about themselves. Expect a Matt Damon-produced documentary soon, better yet, he can just do like Brangelina and adopt a few Africans! That'll show 'em!
