I'm no Al Sharpton fan and I'm always careful about going there, but this right here is some racist bullshit:
The Rev. Al Sharpton says a New York Post cartoon that appears to link President Obama to a violent chimpanzee is "troubling at best."I'll say it again, there way too many reasons for conservatives to criticize Barack Obama and his uber-liberal policies without mentioning his race. To go there is just stupid and ignorant and I don't want anything to do with those on the Right who choose to do so. Not only do you come off looking like a fool when talk about BO's race, but you just open door to the Leftist plantation's exploitation of the race card. And in this case it's certainly warranted. I'm sure the usual suspects in the conservative punditry will deflect and scream "Tawana Brawley! Tawana Brawley!", but whatever, because this isn't about Sharpton, it's about calling it as you see it like any fair-minded person would. And apparently, this isn't the first time this cartoonist pulled some racist imagery.
The cartoon in Wednesday's Post by Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun.
The caption reads, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."
The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner.
It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration's economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.
Sharpton called the cartoon offensive and divisive.
The Post had no immediate comment.
