"An American Carol" Lampoons Michael Moore & The Left

Newsmax.com:
It's a movie genre you don't hear much about in Hollywood: the right-wing comedy. For that matter, it's not much of a genre at all.

But it's exactly what conservative producer-director-screenwriter David Zucker created with "An American Carol." The gag-filled liberal lampoon stars Kevin Farley, brother of the late Chris Farley, as a scruffy Michael Moore clone named Michael Malone, an infamous documentary filmmaker leading a slapstick campaign to abolish the Fourth of July.

"I didn't tell anyone, not even my brother John, I had this part," said Farley, sitting in a conference room chair across from Zucker at Vivendi Entertainment, the film's distributor. "We wanted to keep it close to the vest. Meanwhile, I'm growing a beard and getting fatter. I had just gone through a divorce, and my brother was like, 'You need help!'"

Granted, I'm not too fond of making Michael Moore's ego any bigger than it already is, but I've seen some clips of this movie and it does look to be pretty funny (and Kesley Grammer co-stars, you knew he was a conservative?). An interview with "American Carol" co-writer Myrna Sokoloff and a trailer of the movie can be seen HERE.

Sarah Palin "Annoyed" At Katie Couric

From Newsbusters.com:

Palin had every right to be upset: at the fact that Couric is only taken seriously as a journalist by the Left and that the interview was clearly a sham made to make her look bad.

Sandra Bernhard Banned From Women's Event After Sarah Palin "Rape" Slur

ActressArchives.com:
Comedienne Sandra Bernhard, on the other hand, recently took a somewhat darker route while doing a comedy routine about Palin, and ended up learning that there is such a thing as taking a joke too far. A women’s shelter uninvited her to take part in a benefit show as a result of the routine. You know you’ve crossed the line when you’re being asked not to take part in a good cause...

Bernhard reportedly made the joke last month while performing a one-woman show in Washington, shortly before Sarah Palin was due to visit New York. Bernhard told the crowd that Palin would be “gang-raped by my big black brothers” were she to visit New York. Hopefully Bernhard has since learned the lesson between comedy and downright creepy.

Bernhard was due to perform at the Boston women’s shelter Rosie’s Place as a headliner for an annual benefit. But Rosie’s Place public relations director Leemarie Mosca explained that, not surprisingly, the women in the shelter don’t find violence against women to be such funny subject matter. Speaking to the Associated Press, Mosca explained, “We don’t think violence against women is a laughing matter. Right now, our main focus is our event and making sure the event is a success. And for us, that means not including Sandra Bernhard at this time.”

You'd think that Gloria Steinem, NOW or any other member of the radical feminist Left would make at least some noise about a comedian publicly joking about a politician being raped. But not a peep has come out from the hypocrites, then again what should one expect from a crowd that judges women on whether or not they support abortion? Good to know someone has the guts to stand up against Bernhard's vulgar and repulsive act.

O.J. Simpson: (Finally!) Guilty On All Counts

This is good:
A jury here Friday night found O. J. Simpson guilty on all counts in his robbery and kidnapping trial, a verdict that came 13 years to the day after Mr. Simpson was acquitted in the highly publicized murders of his ex-wife and her friend.

The 12 charges that Mr. Simpson faced stemmed from a September 2007 confrontation in a casino hotel room in which he and five cohorts departed with hundreds of items of sports memorabilia.

In the courtroom as the verdict was read, Mr. Simpson showed no emotions. He was led away in handcuffs and taken into custody. His sister, Carmelita, who was sitting in the front row, broke down in tears.

The items were in the possession of two memorabilia dealers, Bruce L. Fromong and Alfred Beardsley, who were led to believe a prospective buyer was coming to browse the goods. Instead, Mr. Simpson and his group burst into the room and, according to several witnesses, at least one gun was brandished.

The jury of nine women and three men, who deliberated for 13 hours, mulled weeks of testimony as well as hours of surreptitious audio recordings of the planning and execution of the event by Thomas Riccio, a memorabilia auctioneer who arranged the confrontation.

Personally, I've always thought O.J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. The signs were always there: from the infamous scene of him fleeing from police in that white Ford Bronco to the pictures of Nicole Brown Simpson's scars and bruises (gained from the many beatings the "Juice" gave her while they were together). Not that black liberals cared: O.J. is black and that's all that mattered to them as they quickly lined up to defend the O.J. from the "racist" criminal justice system, despite Simpson having long removed himself from the "black community" (didn't he cheat on his black wife and mother of his kids with Nicole?) for the greener/pleasure pastures of private golf courses, Beverly Hills and Hertz commercials. Despite all the photographic evidence presented during the trial. Despite the fact that it was O.J.'s fame, notoriety and loot that undoubtedly played the biggest part in the trial as it allowed Simpson to hire a literal "Dream Team" of lawyers, including the late Johnny Cochran, who got him acquitted of the murder charges.

Now, with the incredible irony of it being exactly 13 years after the Brown/Goldman acquittal, Simpson's guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping charges, facing possible life in jail. One could argue that his arrogant attitude has been his downfall. Instead of fleeing the country and making a new life elsewhere, Simpson lived his life here as if nothing happened, all the while showing disrespect to the victims and their families, continuing to play golf with his millionaire buddies, talking about "finding the real killers" and even going so far as to publish a book called "If I Did It", a sad and pathetic attempt to try and profit from two deaths for which he;d been found liable. To think it was an all-white jury that found him guilty here. What goes around comes around. indeed.

Reaction To Sarah Palin's VP Debate Victory Over Joe Biden

MSNBC.com:
WASHINGTON - Joe Biden’s task was to attack. Sarah Palin’s was to attack, connect and stick to her folksy script.

While both vice presidential candidates succeeded in their only debate of the campaign Thursday night, the stakes were much higher and the bar was much lower for Palin. So, in the contest of low expectations, Palin won.

If nothing else, the first-term Alaska governor got past the raft of nonsensical and meandering answers in evening news interviews with Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, the spoofs by Saturday Night Live and the mockery of late-night comics.

From her first words, a confident Palin sought to connect with voters whose confidence in her qualifications has waned. She sprinkled down-home phrases throughout her answers — “bless their hearts” and “darn right.” Americans weren’t just people they were “Joe Six-Pack” and “Hockey Moms.” And who needs polls, she suggested, when there are youth soccer games with parents on the sidelines.

“I’ll betcha you’re going to hear some fear in that parent’s voice,” Palin said.

She defended Republican presidential nominee John McCain from Biden’s litany of criticisms, and took Biden to task over both his record and that of Democratic nominee Barack Obama

Wow! When even MSNBC begrudgingly gives it to Palin, you know it's the real thing. I only caught the highlights, but judging from the views around the blogosphere it's pretty clear that most peeps thought Palin won, while Joe Biden just did not impress anybody:

Daily Kos - "Sarah Palin won!"

Joe Biden's 14 Lies

NYTimes - "The Palin Rebound"

Ann Althouse - "So Palin has survived... more than survived. She won..."

Frank Luntz Focus Group (independents who favored John Kerry in '04) - "Palin won"

Curt at Flopping Aces has much more blogger reaction

Casey Anthony Knows Where Her Daughter Caylee Is

Stepping away from the politics for a moment, if you pay attention to the news like I do you'd be hard-pressed to not know about the going-ons of Casey Anthony and her "missing" daughter Caylee. Now after months of lying to the cops, being released on bail money at least twice, protesters lining up daily outside her house and a barnstorm of media attention covering the case,
police have FINALLY decided to label this mischievous, lying, witch a "suspect" in her daughter's disappearance:
Investigators have named Casey Anthony a suspect in the mid-June disappearance of her toddler daughter, Caylee, Florida authorities said Wednesday.

Police had previously labeled Anthony -- who authorities said didn't report the 3-year-old child's disappearance until mid-July -- a "person of interest" in the case.

"Casey is a suspect," said Orange County Sheriff's Department Capt. Angelo Nieves. "She has been uncooperative, leading investigators down the wrong path and lying to them. She has not provided any credible information about the last time she saw her or where she was left."

Casey Anthony of Orlando, Florida, was arrested on July 16 on suspicion of telling detectives lies about Caylee's disappearance. She was released on bail after that arrest and subsequent arrests on unrelated theft charges.

Authorities said weeks ago that evidence suggests Caylee is dead. Investigators found evidence of human decomposition in the trunk of Anthony's car, authorities have said.

Casey Anthony knows where her daughter is. And when you consider her reckless past, the fact that she hasn't provided any useful information to the police concerning the whereabouts of her daughter, how Casey acted as though she hadn't a care in the world during the time she now says she had no idea where her daughter Caylee was and chloroform being found in her car, one would be hard pressed not to believe that, sadly, little Caylee Anthony is dead. I'm guessing that it all has something to do with her boyfriend, but either way, it's about time the cops build up a strong enough case to try Casey for murder.

Sarah Palin Says Homosexuality Is A Choice

Good for her. She dared to say what I feel most Americans (including myself) agree with, but are afraid to say in public due to liberal terrorism:
Palin: But you are talking about, I think, a value here, what my position is on homosexuality and can you pray it away 'cause I think that was the title that was listed in that bulletin. And, you know, I don't know what prayers are worthy of being prayed. And I don't know what prayers are gonna be answered or not answered. But as for homosexuality, I am not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal relationships.

I have, one of my absolute best friends for the last 30 years who happens to be gay. And I love her dearly. And she is not my "gay friend." She is one of my best friends who happens to have made a choice that isn't a choice that I have made. But I am not gonna judge people. And I love America where we are more tolerant than other countries are. And are more accepting of some of these choices that sometimes people want to believe reflects solely on an individual's values or not. Homosexuality, I am not gonna judge people.
Christians understand that JUDGING people is wrong and should be left to God, speaking your OPINION however, is an entirely different matter. Homosexuals need the "born this way" argument to rationalize their immoral behavior. As liberals continue to normalize homosexual behavior and indoctrinate it in our schools, churches and institutions such as marriage, more Christians need to do like Palin and speak out against this practice.

Nancy Pelosi's Do-Nothing Congress Fails Once Again

This
record low-rated, Democrat Congress, led by its idiot Speaker Nancy Pelosi, once again puts ego ahead of what's turned into an economic crisis:

The $700 bailout plan is now off the table, the Dow's hitting record lows, more and more financial institutions are near ruin and Pelosi is busy pointing fingers and promoting her stupid book while ignoring her own party's role in creating this mess, nevermind the fact that it in 2003 then-Treasury Secretary John Snow tried to fix government-sponsored mortgage gamblers and was turned away by a mostly Democrat Congress. John McCain and Sarah Palin would do well to show the American people who really should be taking the blame for this financial crisis we're in: Democrats.

How Democrats Screwed Up The Economy

Of all the Congressmen and Senators who received donations from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, a disproportionate number of the top recipients were Democrats. Going against the liberal media's continued notion that the current financial crisis is all George W. Bush and the Republicans' fault, even Bill Clinton recently told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac."
