CNN Reports That Obama Picks Joe Biden For VP

CNN.com:

News of Biden's selection came after word that three Democrats who had been considered contenders, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, had been ruled out. The two Democratic sources who told CNN that Obama had chosen Biden spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Obama campaign says it plans to announce his vice presidential running mate in a text message Saturday morning. Obama was then expected to appear with his vice-presidential choice at an afternoon rally in Springfield, Illinois.

Biden was long considered a likely choice for vice president, but the buzz surrounding him intensified after he returned earlier this week from a two-day trip to the Republic of Georgia after Russian troops invaded.

If this is true (I refuse to believe anything till I hear it straight from Obama's lips) than it's a bad move by Obama in my opinion. Granted, Senator Obama been stuck between a rock and hard place on selecting who'd be his VP ever since he won the primaries.....frankly, there was never any clear, consensus choice. But Evan Bayh would've been the best choice because unlike Billary or Biden, Bayh would've never been a threat to undermine an Obama presidency. Let's not forget too that as a former governor of Indiana Bayh would've brought executive experience with him, Bayh supported Billary in the primaries (which may've helped Barack win over some of those idiot, disgruntled Billary supporters still looming out there) and unlike Obama, he's shown a willingness to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans.

Picking Biden will be easy fodder for John McCain as Biden has publicly dissed Barack's lack of experience several times (reinforcing Biden's "loose cannon" rep). Then too is the fact that Biden is almost as liberal as Obama is, he won't help Obama take away votes from McCain and let's not forget this infamous comment on Senator Obama made by Biden just last year:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."
If Obama confirms that his choice for VP is Joe Biden, I'll score it as a huge 'W' for John McCain.

Barack Obama Supports Infanticide

Pseudo-Christian, extreme liberal and Democratic presumptive nominee for President Barack Obama is finally facing criticism for blocking the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois five years ago:
Painted during the Democratic primary as weak on abortion rights, Barack Obama is now being portrayed by opponents of abortion as an extremist who literally supports killing babies.

Both portraits are based on his handling of a related issue in the Illinois Senate, and Obama insists they distort his position.

The Democratic presidential candidate says he firmly supports a woman's right to choose but can accept some restrictions — including a requirement that medical care be provided for any fetus that survives an abortion.

"For people to suggest that I and the Illinois Medical Society, so Illinois' doctors, were somehow in favor of withholding lifesaving support from an infant born alive is ridiculous," he recently told the Christian Broadcasting Network. "It defies common sense and it defies imagination."

But as a state senator, Obama repeatedly voted against that requirement and other restrictions on what opponents label "born alive" abortions.
Even when language was included in the bill to satisfy Obama's concerns about it being a "Trojan Horse", Barack still voted against the bill. No one's trying to "portray" Senator Obama as an extremist, he is an extremist who supports the agenda of his radically-Left constituents 95% of the time. As seen here, his record speaks for itself. Now the question is how soon will Obama make his VP announcement in order deflect from the rising brouhaha caused by his lies on abortion?

The excellent Jill Stanek has much more on Senator Obama's treachery.

John McCain Has 5-Point Lead On Barack

Of course, if you're a liberal polls don't count when you're candidate
isn't winning:
In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

The reversal follows a month of attacks by McCain, who has questioned Obama's experience, criticized his opposition to most new offshore oil drilling and mocked his overseas trip.

The poll was taken Thursday through Saturday as Obama wrapped up a weeklong vacation in Hawaii that ceded the political spotlight to McCain, who seized on Russia's invasion of Georgia to emphasize his foreign policy views.

Roseanne Barr: Another Liberal Hypocrite

In case you haven't heard, former sitcom "star" (and a poor man's Rosie O'Donnell when it comes to leftwing celebrity extremists) Roseanne Barr is mad at Angelina Jolie for actually having the gall to still be undecided about who she's going to go vote for come November. So of course, Roseanne (who supports Senator Obama) does what most liberals do when dealing with someone who doesn't agree with their views: spit, cry, threaten violence, hurl insults (including calling Jolie the "evil spawn" of her GOP supporting dad Jon Voight, whom Angelina has long been estranged from). Now normally I love it when stupid celebrity liberals take on one their own, but can someone please remind Roseanne about all the kind words she had for Barack back in ummm....January:
barak obama is an empty suit selling "hope" in lieu of Truth. Oprah Winfrey helped to elect Arnold Swartzenegger. I have no doubt that she voted her purse by doing this, as she is a large land owner in California, and that ilk fears Dems because they do not want to pay their "fair share" of Cali tax. Oprah has given us Swartzenegger and Dr. Phil. If that was not offensive enough to decent thinking people, now she brings us Obama. He has no ideas, no plan and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope, while calling Unions "special interest groups" that need to be done away with.

Obama votes with Bush constantly funding this terrible endless war.

Oprah, you play the race card and the gender card too.

You are a closeted republican and chose Barak Obama because you do not like other women who actually stand for something to working American Women besides glamour, angels, hollywood and dieting!

When Americans find out that Obama backs right wing corporate racist anti worker bullshit, they will not vote for him, and the victory will go to the most racist right wing republican ever.... Mccain, who is a fascist!

Ok, I'm just as mad as she is about Oprah giving us Dr. Phil, but calling the Queen a "closeted Republican" just crosses the line of decency.

Nancy Pelosi: "God Has Blessed Us With Obama"

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, liberal Obama-worship reaches new heights and this time we have our
incompetent House Speaker to thank:
Barack Obama raked $7.8 million Sunday at three separate fundraisers in San Francisco, telling a VIP dinner crowd — many of whom paid $28,500 to attend — that he would win the presidency in November but to expect a tough battle with Republicans in the meantime.

‘‘John McCain, all he wants to do is talk about me,’’ Obama told supporters. ‘‘They know they can’t win on the issues. So what they’ll do is they’ll try to scare people:’He’s risky. He’s risky. We’re not sure.’’’

Obama was introduced at the dinner by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him ‘‘a leader God has blessed us with at this time.’’

In April, at another fundraiser in this prosperous, liberal city, Obama made his infamous remarks about bitter small town voters who ‘‘cling’’ to guns and religion. His rival in the primaries, Hillary Rodham Clinton, immediately seized on the comments as evidence that Obama was an elitist with little regard for middle-class values.

"Blessed" like a newborn baby. We should all be so grateful. BTW, since "The Messiah" is a Democrat I wonder if he can find time to help a fellow Dem out and do something about Nancy's dismal book sales?

Gay Dating Site Manhunt Fires Chairman Because He Donated Money To McCain

Once again, proof that liberals are only tolerant of other liberals:

A simple $2,300 donation to presumptive Republican nominee John McCain from a founder of a local gay hookup Web site has gays and politicos alike recoiling from the eyebrow-raising alliance.

Jonathan Crutchley, co-creator of the Cambridge-based Manhunt.net, stepped down as chairman of the company yesterday after a whirlwind of events that began with his maximum allowable donation to McCain.

“Politically, it was just off-base, with the whole feeling over here at Manhunt,” said site co-creator Larry Basile yesterday, pointing out McCain’s views against adoption by gay couples and same-sex marriage."

“Boy, was I embarrassed when I found out he gave $2,300,” said Basile, who asked Crutchley to step down after several patrons of the gay hookup site cancelled their subscriptions.

McCain’s camp seemed just as eager to distance themselves from the brief alliance. McCain spokesman Jeff Grappone didn’t return multiple phone calls on the subject, and Crutchley has apparently been informed that his $2,300 will be returned.

Howard Dean Again Plays Race Card, Calls GOP "The White Party"

Is the reason for this latest asinine comment from Dean due to concern about Barack still not having the same percentage of the black vote (Obama had
only 85% last time I checked) as John Kerry (89%) did in 2004? Or because Howard Dean remains an ass? Probably both:

With both presidential candidates condemning use of the race issue in the campaign, Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean has once again, put his foot in his mouth by referring to the Republican Party aa the “white” party.

According to Breitbart TV, Dean told a group of Democrats “Our party has a been no-majority party for a long time … the Democratic Party is made up of lots of different people and we're all minorities in our party.

“That's the way it's been for a long, long time - we are the party of opportunity, so the demographic trends favor the Democrats because we are an inclusive and accepting party. If you look at folks of color - even women - are more successful in the Democratic Party than they are in the white -- excuse me [giggles] -- in the Republican Party.

It wasn’t the first time he’s made a similar charge. Speaking to a forum in June 2005 in San Francisco Dean said that Republicans are "a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."

Again, the most significant aspect of a Black man winning the Democratic nomination for President will not be progress for the Black community, but more and more white liberals getting over their "guilty complex" when it comes to matters of race. It will be far more significant, and a benefit to Blacks as a whole, if the first Black president were a Republican or an Independent.
