Cindy Sheehan To Run Against Nancy Pelosi For S.F. District Seat

Newsmax.com:
A year to the date exactly after formally announcing her intention to challenge Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi for her seat in California's 8th district, Cindy Sheehan is officially on the ballot as a "Decline to State" candidate.

In order to qualify as an "Decline to State" candidate Sheehan was required to submit 10,198 signatures from registered voters in the district by August 8th, 2008; Sheehan's campaign collected close the double the amount of signatures needed and qualified before the deadline.

"Getting on the ballot is just the first victory for our campaign," says Sheehan

"I am even more convinced now than I was a year ago that the people of San Francisco are ready to lead the way to step outside of the dated two-party system and elect someone who truly represents San Francisco values, not party loyalties and criminal activities."

"San Francisco values"? Now there's a misnomer. Anyway, what with Pelosi's utter arrogance on the nation's oil issue of late, one can't help but to put feelings aside and root crazy Cindy on!

John Edwards Admits To Having Affair On Cancer Stricken Wife

His political career is done as well it should be:
Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards on Friday admitted to an extramarital affair while his wife was battling cancer. He denied fathering the woman's daughter. Edwards told ABC News that he lied repeatedly about the affair with 42-year-old Rielle Hunter but said that he didn't love her.

He said he has not taken a paternity test but knows he isn't the father because of the timing of the affair and the birth.

ABC said a former Edwards campaign staffer claims he is the father, not Edwards.

Hunter's daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, was born on Feb. 27, 2008, and no father's name is given on the birth certificate filed in California.

Three weeks ago, the National Enquirer said its reporters caught Edwards visiting Hunter at a California hotel. In the interview, scheduled to air on ABC News' "Nightline," Edwards said the tabloid was correct when it reported on his meeting with Hunter at the Beverly Hills Hotel last month.

What a lying prick. Over and over this former candidate for President of the United States lied the American public about cheating on his dying wife and it took a rag like the National Enquirer to nail him dead to rights. Why? Because half of the liberal press didn't want to have anything to do with the story of a prominent Democrat (and potential Vice-President) carrying on in such a despicable manner, despite all the rumors to the contrary. Now Edwards admits to having an affair, but not fathering his mistresses' baby. Well you'd have to be idiot to believe anything he say to say now. Then too, if the affair was over why did the Enquirer bust him visiting his allegedly former paramour in the middle of the night at her hotel a few weeks ago? Now the question is will the NYTimes, which had no problem putting John McCain on Page 1 for an alleged affair with a former lobbyist, cover Edwards admitted affair with the same vigor and diligence? I highly doubt it, after all, when it comes to fair and balanced reporting on the issues, the Times lost sight of that a long time ago.

Liberal Media Refuses To Identify Jailed Democrat Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's Party Affiliation

The failing liberal press once again displays why it's a cesspool of one-sided journalism:
To paraphrase a line from my good friend B. Spears, ‘Oops, the AP did it again!'

What journalistic crime has been committed this time? How about, selective memory when it comes to a Democrat running afoul of the law.

Picture this if you will. The Mayor of a major U.S. city has been ordered to jail for violating bond. The MSM reports on the situation, but fails to mention the Mayor's party affiliation anywhere in the article. This makes it a foregone conclusion - the Mayor is a Democrat.

While it is common place for the MSM to avoid mentioning the word Democrat in a headline involving someone being charged, indicted, or sent off to jail, it is taking it a giant step further when they fail to mention it all together.

Contrast this with the recent headlines surrounding the indictment of Ted Stevens. The AP headline read as follows:

Ted Stevens indicted, longest-serving GOP senator

Hugh Hefner Supports Barack Obama

Damn, now Barack even has the no-integrity, no-shame, total airhead, skank voting bloc on lock:

Hugh Hefner says Robert Downey Jr. is the best choice to fill his slippers and satin robe for an upcoming biopic, to be directed by Brett Ratner. The Playboy icon, relaxing at his annual Summer Splash party, also threw his support behind Barack Obama, saying it was "time for a change." But it doesn't look like Hef will be changing his stance on monogamy: - the bash was sponsored by AshleyMadison.com, a dating site for married people.

A dating site for married people. Indeed, another example of the progressives being, yunno, progressive.

Signs Point To Barack Picking Evan Bayh For VP

WSJ.com:
Officially, Barack Obama will deliver an energy-policy speech Wednesday to citizens in Elkhart, Ind. But the focus of the political chattering class will be on the man sitting shotgun at the event: Evan Bayh, the Indiana senator thought to be on the likely Democratic presidential nominee's short list of vice-presidential candidates.

The scion of a prominent Hoosier political family and a former two-term Democratic governor of a deep-red state, Sen. Bayh is viewed by many as an ideal complement to the Illinois senator, who has a charismatic stage presence but a short political résumé for a presidential candidate.

Understated in demeanor and rarely demonstrating a passion for showboat political issues, Sen. Bayh may lack flash. But he sits on the powerful Senate armed-services and intelligence committees, enjoys an easy rapport with Midwestern crossover conservatives and displays a fund-raising knack extending beyond his home constituency.

Evan Bayh is considered to be fiscally conservative (as governor of Indiana he went 8 years without raising taxes), is generally pro-choice, still supports the Iraq War (tho he's been fairly critical throughout), is strong on education, healthcare and race relations. Bayh supported Hillary Clinton in the Democrat primary campaign which could help Barack win over Billary loyalists. And he's popular in the midwest states, which of course, is a plus for any presidential candidate. All in all, this would be a good pick by Obama. Bayh's already said he'd accept the VP spot if asked.

What Does Mary-Kate Olsen Know About Heath Ledger's Death?

She must know something if she refuses to talk to the feds unless she gets immunity first:
Federal investigators want to question Mary-Kate Olsen about how Heath Ledger got two powerful painkillers that contributed to his accidental overdose death, but she's refusing to talk without immunity, a law enforcement official said Monday.

Olsen's lawyer has twice refused requests for her to speak with investigators, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. The lawyer, Michael C. Miller, said the "Full House" actress has nothing to do with the drugs, and has already told the government everything she knows.

"We have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death," Miller said in a statement Monday, "and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed."

The official confirmed a report that Olsen wants a promise of immunity from prosecution before speaking to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Olsen was a close friend of Ledger's, and was the first person called by a masseuse who found the 28-year-old "Dark Knight" actor's lifeless body in his Manhattan apartment.

It's just very weird that Mary-Kate and Ledger's masseuse talked three times on the phone BEFORE the cops were called. It's possible that if an ambulance had been called right away, Ledger might have been saved. Also, why did she have her "personal security guards" go to the apartment before the police were called? Then too considering how popular an actor Ledger was and all the buzz he's currently getting from his last performance co-starring in the "Dark Knight", the liberal press seems to have long moved past how and WHY he died. Could it be that the press doesn't want to be held accountable for a lifestyle of sex, drugs and debauchery that it exploits on a daily basis, especially when it comes to teenagers and young adults? Or could it be that they want to spoil the image of a young, white, female billionaire who judging from her own history could have a history of using drugs herself? Bottom line Mary-Kate Olsen needs to talk to the feds about what she knows.

Bill Clinton: "I'm Not A Racist!"

From WaPo:

Snow asked Clinton, "Do you personally have any regrets about what you did campaigning for your wife?"

With his arms folded and looking a bit tense, Clinton replied, "Yes, but not the ones you think. And it would be counterproductive for me to talk about it."

Barely pausing for a breath, he added, "There are things I wish I'd urged her to do, things I wish I had said, things I wish I hadn't said. But I am not a racist, I never made a racist comment, and I didn't attack him personally," a clear allusion to Sen. Barack Obama.

Gee, why so defensive Mr. ex-President? Listen, I don't believe that Bill Clinton is a racist by any means--racists are bred on ignorance and there's no way Slick Willie makes it as far as he did if he was that screwed up (we can thank MLK Jr. for that). I just think that Clinton was smart enough to exploit the black vote to his tremendous benefit during his entire political career. And it was only when a black man ran head-to-head with his wife that black libs got to see Clinton for the sinister, power-hungry, win-by-any-means, con artist that he really is.

L.A. Police Chief William Bratton Quote of the Day!

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris is out of town not bothering anybody, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue."

- in response to his city's problems with paparazzi and a city councilman's proposed ordinance against it. Bratton, a longtime gay rights supporter, still caught flak from some libs over the remark.
