John McCain Calls Jimmy Carter "Lousy" President

Now this is the kind of in-your-face rhetoric the Straight Talk Express
needs more of:
John McCain directed his trademark straight talk toward a former president, flatly calling Jimmy Carter a "lousy" commander in chief.

The Arizona senator has long attempted to portray Barack Obama's policies as in the mold of Carter's, though the Republican has previously held back criticizing Carter so directly.

But in an interview with the Las Vegas Sun published Friday, McCain was decidedly more blunt than he has been in the past. McCain, who is a proponent of nuclear reprocessing, was asked why he thought Carter was against the process when he was president.

"Yes, because Carter was a lousy president," McCain quipped. "This is the same guy who kissed Brezhnev."

McCain's comments are in reference to the now famous moment when Carter and then Soviet Union leader Leonid Brezhnev kissed after signing the SALT II treaty in 1979. Both the agreement and the kiss were widely panned by Republicans.

Of course the loons will argue that Carter's presidency is irrelevant now because it was 30 years ago, but McCain would be wise to stay on the Obama=Carter wagon if only because there are too many American voters today who somehow managed to live through the awful reign that was the Carter presidency. These same folks probably happen to stay on top of their current events so they're well aware too Carter didn't just quietly retire to his peanut farm after he got whupped by Ronald Reagan in 1980, indeed he's still out and about pushing his "terrorists are our friends", pacifist agenda while wrecking havoc on President Bush's foreign policy. So if you're an anti-war, Democratic nominee for President who hasn't visited Iraq since 2006, much less has little to no experience on foreign policy, the last person you want to be compared to is the guy who opened the door for our modern-day war on terror.

Michelle Obama Equates Gays With Blacks

The little respect I had for Michelle Obama has been tossed out the window. I mean, she
really went there:
Michelle Obama won a standing ovation on Thursday when she paid a campaign visit to gay and lesbian Democratic activists to promote her husband Barack Obama’s presidential quest.

Obama, appearing at a dinner meeting of the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Council of the Democratic National Committee, cited her husband’s efforts to fight discrimination and promote equal rights for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered people.

She said he supported a complete repeal of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, which only recognizes marriages between men and women and upholds states’ rights not to honor same-sex marriages performed elsewhere. He also opposes a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy toward gays in the U.S. military and was against a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, she added.

He supports full family and adoption rights for gay and lesbian couples and believes the federal government should not stand in the way of states that opt for domestic partnerships, civil unions or civil marriage, she said. The Illinois senator opposes same-sex marriage.

“Barack believes that we must fight for the world as it should be, a world where together we work to reverse discriminatory laws like DOMA and ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’” she said. “The world as it is should be one that rejects discrimination of all kinds.

I've made it no secret here of how offended I get when the supposed hardships of a chosen, alternative lifestyle gets equated with century old methods of discrimination faced by Blacks. Yet, black liberals have been suckered hook, line and sinker for years by a white, liberal establishment that has piggybacked every single move made by the Martin Luther King Jr.-led civil rights movement of the 60's in order to create their own immoral agenda. Race is an immutable characteristic, therefore you can look at a man and know he is black; sexuality is a behavior, therefore you have to make an effort to tell people that you’re gay. Race and sexuality are not the same. Homosexuality is a perversion and in a day and age when blacks continue to face huge levels of discrimination on so many different levels, it's an insult for an educated Black woman to stand up and compare a movement that arose from the Middle Passage, chattel slavery, decades of Jim Crow laws to a couple of days of riots at a NYC inn. Michelle Obama is a sell-out.

Supreme Court Says No To Death Penalty For Rape

Great decision by the Court in deciding that "the death penalty for child rape is unconstitutional if the defendants' acts were not intended to cause death." The decision was 5-4:

Barring the death penalty for any crime that does not take the life of an individual victim, the Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that it is unconstitutional to impose the death penalty for the crime of raping a child. If the victim does not die and death was not intended, capital punishment for that crime violates the Eighth Amendment, the Court ruled in an opinion by Justice Anthony M. Kennedy. The case was Patrick Kennedy v. Louisiana (07-343). The broad declaration that death sentences should be reserved “for crimes that take the life of the victim” will apply, the Court said, to crimes against individuals — thus leaving intact, for example, a possible death sentence for treason.

Part of the Court’s rationale for nullifying a death sentence for raping a child was that the child victim gets enlisted, perhaps repeatedly, to recount the crime, forcing on the child “a moral choice” that the youngster is not mature enough to make. “The way the death penalty here involves the child victim in its enforcement can compromise a decent legal system,” Justice Kennedy wrote.

This is an obvious case of the punishment being disproportionate from the crime, even victims' rights groups were against it, correctly arguing that this could as an incentive for rapists to kill their victims.

Barack Obama Rolling Stone Cover

Jann Wenner runs Rolling Stone magazine, he's a leftwing bully and atheist who left his wife and 3 kids for a man during the 90's. Wenner's long turned what used to be a respectable music magazine into his own personal cesspool of left-wing propaganda. So if you're a new artist or band that's looking to get a feature in RS, just shout to the world that you hate President Bush, eventually the word will get back to someone at RS and soon enough a writer from the 'zine will be calling you to set up an interview even if you don't have a clue why you hate Bush like most libs. Hey, I'm just here to help.

Obama Donors Should Say No To Hillary Debt

But they won't because they know that it'd be too risky for their candidate's presidential hopes. Hillary supporters remain an angry lot and regardless of the fact that their candidate wouldn't be in so much debt if she was able to put her huge ego aside and step out the race when all was said and done back when Barack won North Carolina back in May, the Geraldine Ferraro wing of the Billary camp would use any excuse to continue claiming "dis-unity" and vote for John McCain:
Presidential candidate Barack Obama (D., Ill.) reportedly has agreed to ask his supporters to help retire the debt of former rival Hillary Clinton (D., N.Y.).

According to reports from the Associated Press, Obama has asked his largest campaign bundlers to do all they can to help Clinton, who was forced into debt to compete with the donation-rich Illinois senator. Obama has not yet asked for help from small donors, many of whom have donated online.

Obama has pledged to help with at least $10 million of Clinton's debt.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Clinton's debt amounts to $22,523,860. Much of that debt was funded from a personal fortune she and husband Bill Clinton amassed from books and speaking arrangements after President Clinton left the White House. Hillary Clinton announced plans to pay off vendors prior to personal loans.

Still Waiting For John Murtha's Apology To The Troops

In a press conference on May 17, 2006, liberal loon and anti-war icon John Murtha said that U.S. Marines had deliberately killed unarmed Iraqi civilians during an encounter in Haditha in 2005 “Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood,” Murtha said before anyone was investigated, charged, much less convicted of a crime. Well, it turns out that Murtha was wrong, way wrong:
A military judge on Tuesday dismissed the case against the highest-ranking U.S. Marine charged in the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians at Haditha, whittling down the list of those who must still face justice for the 2005 incident to just the accused ringleader.

Military Judge Col. Steven Folsom dropped all charges against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani, who was accused of violating a lawful order and dereliction of duty, at a hearing at the Camp Pendleton Marine base in Southern California.

Folsom's decision means that, out of eight Marines originally charged in December 2006, six have won dismissals of their charges and one has been cleared at court martial.

Murtha was running for office when he smeared the troops, so not only was he motivated by his ignorance, but also the support of his liberal base in Pennsylvania. That said, word has it that one of the troops Murtha berated plans on suing him for defamation. Good. Perhaps that will give Murtha a chance to write an apology while he eats a nice, big bowl of crow.

Supreme Court Rejects Loony Wing Border Fence Case

MSNBC:
The Supreme Court turned down on Monday a plea by environmental groups to rein in the Bush administration's power to waive laws and regulations to speed construction of a fence along the U.S.-Mexican border.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff has used authority given to him by Congress in 2005 to ignore environmental and other laws and regulations to move forward with hundreds of miles (kilometers) of fencing in four states bordering Mexico.

The case rejected by the court involved a two-mile (3 kilometer) section of fence in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area near Naco, Arizona. The section has since been built.

A victory the folks who yunno, follow the laws. Like my parents, who came to this country poor, but legally.

Barack Obama: Corrupt Democrat of the Week

Age
: 46

Birthplace
: Honolulu, Hawaii

Claim To Fame
: junior Senator from Illinois and presumptive nominee of the Democratic party for President in 2009.

Why He's The Corrupt Democrat of the Week: for attempting to silence a campaign supporter who resurfaced this week after her office was caught with a Cuban flag featuring a picture of racist 60's racidal Che Guevera superimposed on it back in February. Guevera, who used to be BFF with Cuban leader Fidel Castro, was a terrorist whose long been embraced by young, left-wing loons who don't have a clue of who he really was, much less his hatred for Blacks. Perhaps that's why Barack stopped Maria Isabel, a Houston area volunteer for his campaign, from talking about the Guevera flag just in case she ever resurfaced (which she did last week on a radio talk show). Yet, Obama is the same person who uses Guevera quotes on his campaign website and many of his liberal supporters remain huge fans of the Cuban icon. Indeed, you'd think Barack would be smart enough to know that once you sleep with dogs you usually end up with fleas.

Zogby Poll: Support High For Off-Shore Oil Drilling

Newsmax:
Three in four likely voters – 74% – support off-shore drilling for oil in U.S. coastal waters and more than half (59%) also favor drilling for oil in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.

A majority of likely voters across the political spectrum support off-shore oil drilling, with vast majorities of Republicans (90%) and independents (75%) in favor of drilling for oil off U.S. coastal waters more than half of Democrats (58%) also said they favor off-shore drilling. Republicans (80%) and political independents (57%) are much more likely to favor drilling for oil in ANWR than Democrats (40%). The telephone survey of 1,113 likely voters nationwide was conducted June 12-14, 2008, and carries a margin of error of +/- 3.0 percentage points.

One in four likely voters (25%) said they would be more likely to vote for Sen. John McCain if they knew that as president he would support off-shore drilling in U.S. coastal waters just 4% said McCains support for off-shore drilling would make him less likely to win their vote, while 57% said it made no difference and 15% were unsure.
If you're a liberal or better yet, a mega-rich RINO like Arnold Schwarzenegger, used to commuting back-n-forth in private jets while he plays governor, the effects of high gas pricing on middle America is not too high on your priority list. Good thing Chuck Norris understands the problem and is doing something about it . . . maybe somebody should introduce the martial arts expert to the Gov. Schwarzenegger.
