The Fat Lady Has Finally Sung: Hillary Ends Campaign, Endorses Barack

CNN:
Sen. Hillary Clinton formally ended her presidential campaign Saturday, saying to a packed house of thousands of supporters, "I will continue to stand strong with you every time, every place and every way that I can."

She urged the cheering crowd to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, in his bid for the White House, saying she and supporters should "take our energy, our passion and our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama ... I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me."

Her endorsement was met with a scattering of boos and thumbs downs from the crowd at the National Building Museum in Washington.

Good. The drama has finally ended in the Democratic camps and now conservatives can do their part in getting John McCain elected for President in November. But let one thing be clear: stupid, ignorant, racist smears against Barack Obama will only do Senator McCain harm, fuel liberal flames that the GOP is a party of racists and risk putting Obama in the White House. Barack Obama is now the Democratic nominee and there's plenty of issues that are dear to us that we can go after him on without going after his race or trying to make him out to be a Muslim.

Conservatives need to attack Barack's record as the most liberal senator in all of Congress, attack his limited experience in the military and foreign policy, his opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act, his opposition to a law that prohibited early release for sex offenders, his approval of partial-birth abortions, his many barbs against working-class voters that he made during his campaign as well as many more issues that Senator Obama is very vulnerable on (such as his stances on trade, Israel and religion). You don't have to like John McCain, but if you're a conservative you must vote for him. The alternative, a Barack Obama presidency, will lead this country into four years of liberal tyranny . . . at least.

Angry Hillary supporters Promise To Vote For John Mccain

Yes,
you racist peons, cover up your ignorance and blame Hillary's loss on sexism. Certainly the incompetent Mark Penn or the egotistical Bill Clinton or Hillary's sense of entitlement or her vote for the war or Barack's brilliant campaign or the truth that, many people are just tired of the Clintons had nothing to do with it. So go ahead and vote for John McCain, please do:

Amy Siskind, a 42-year-old mother of two from Westchester, stood in a Washington, D.C., park on the last day in May, telling a few hundred cheering people that she would not, under any circumstances, vote for Barack Obama. She was a lifelong Democrat, she said, a donor and a volunteer for the party. But, watching the race with a "mixture of shock, disgrace, and disgust," she was appalled at the leadership's failure to defend Hillary Clinton from the sexism that she believes bolstered Barack Obama's campaign. "Now I have a message for Howard Dean and the DNC," she said into a microphone, acid in her voice. "I'm not your sweetie!"

Siskind was one of the speakers at a rally that brought busloads of people, overwhelmingly women, to demonstrate near the Democratic National Committee (DNC) meeting that would decide the status of the Florida and Michigan delegations. The states had been stripped of their delegates--a decision Clinton endorsed--because they had broken party rules in holding their primaries early. But, as Clinton lost steam, seating them in full became crucial to her argument for the nomination, and thus, to her supporters, a matter of high democratic principle. Oaths to oppose Obama proliferated, often among longtime female fund-raisers. "You have betrayed us, our children, and our future," Siskind proclaimed during her speech, "and you will learn the new meaning of stay-at-home moms!"

Hillary Clinton has lost the nomination, but some of her most ardent female backers seem unwilling to accept it. A strange narrative has developed, abetted by Clinton and some of the mainstream feminist organizations. In it, the will of the voters was thwarted by chauvinistic party leaders in concert with a servile media, and Obama's victory represents a repeat of George W. Bush's in 2000. It's a story in which Obama becomes every arrogant young man who has ever edged out a more deserving middle-aged woman, and Clinton, hanging on until the bitter end, is not a spoiler but a feminist martyr.

Again, when she was by as many as 30% in the polls, the man-haters said nary a word about sexism. Radical feminism continues to oppress women day after day.

GOP Senators Block Global Warming Bill

Good. We still have some members of Congress who can recognize a con job when they see it:

Senate Republicans blocked a global warming bill that would have required major reductions in greenhouse gases Friday, pushing debate over the world's biggest environmental concern to next year for a new Congress and president.

Democratic leaders fell a dozen votes short of getting the 60 needed to end a Republican filibuster on the measure and bring the bill up for a vote, prompting Majority Leader Harry Reid to pull the legislation from consideration.

The Senate debate focused on bitter disagreement over the expected economic costs of putting a price on carbon dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas that comes from burning fossil fuels.

Opponents said it would lead to higher energy costs.

The 48-36 vote fell short of a majority, but Democrats produced letters from six senators -- including presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain -- saying they would have voted for the measure had they been there.

Fake Christian Barack Obama Leaves Church For Votes

American Spectator:
The very left-wing Catholic clericalism from which Obama hopes to derive votes in the fall served as the pretext for his leaving the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Just as Jeremiah Wright's over-the-top sermons could not have come as a surprise to Obama, so Father Michael Pfleger's hyper-partisanship would have been known to him as well.

But Father Pfleger's timing and choice of a target were poor: his antics hit the Internet just as the Wright furor had begun to dissipate and instead of attacking a Republican for racism he selected Hillary Clinton. Maybe at another moment in the campaign this wouldn't have mattered -- Geraldine Ferraro's comments saying Obama had an unfair advantage due to race might have even lent the sermon some plausibility -- but as Obama began his courting of Hillary's support he found it all very annoying.

Yet normally the Democrats encourage priests and religious to misuse their office, to treat the binding teachings of their church as debatable while treating the platform and causes of the Democratic Party as doctrine; to put on their religious garb at political meetings, then take it off for catechesis.
It's funny how stupid Barack Obama thinks the American voter is. Here's a man who supports abortion, gay marriage and other social policies that are radically Leftist and now he wants to disassociate himself from a church he attended for 20-some-odd years because he suddenly recognized the anti-American views of his "spiritual advisers"? Does anyone really believe that Senator Obama wouldn't be sitting in a pew at the Trinity United Church come Sunday if he wasn't running for President? Hopefully non-liberal voters will see through this sham come November.

Jimmy Carter: Hillary As Obama VP 'Big Mistake'

Damn! Talk about not mincing words:

Naming Hillary Clinton as Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate “would be the worst mistake that could be made,” said former President Jimmy Carter.

In an interview Carter gave to the U.K.-based publication,” The Guardian,” Carter urged Democratic presidential nominee Obama not to pick the New York Senator for the bottom slot on his general election ticket. Carter cites opinion polls showing that half of U.S. voters have a negative view of Clinton.

His comments only add to the sharply opinionated speculation about whether Obama should reach out to Clinton with an invitation to be his running mate. Clinton said on a conference call with lawmakers Tuesday that she would be open to a VP slot “if it would help the party.”

Coupled with the many questions and biases Obama already faces, Carter maintains this would significantly damage Obama's chances in November.

After formally endorsing Obama for president Tuesday, Carter asserts Obama and Clinton together on the same ticket “would just accumulate the negative aspects of both candidates.”

“If you take that 50 percent who just don’t want to vote for Clinton and add it to whatever element there might be who don’t think Obama is white enough or old enough or experienced enough, or because he’s got a middle name that sounds Arab, you could have the worst of both worlds,” Carter said.

Only Al Gore Can Stop Hillary Clinton Now

CNN:
In what he called a "defining moment for our nation," Sen. Barack Obama on Tuesday became the first African-American to head the ticket of a major political party.

Obama's steady stream of superdelegate endorsements, combined with the delegates he received from Tuesday's primaries, put him past the 2,118 threshold, CNN projects.

"Tonight we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another -- a journey that will bring a new and better day to America," he said.

"Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States."

Obama's rally was at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota -- the same arena which will house the 2008 Republican National Convention in September.

Speaking in New York, Sen. Hillary Clinton, congratulated Obama for his campaign, but she did not concede the race nor discuss the possibility of running as vice president.

"This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight," she said.
That's because she's taking it to Denver or as far as the spineless Democratic will allow her to. You see, unlike most black liberal dupes, I've always seen the Clinton's for who they truly are: ruthless, power-hungry, scumbags who'll use or destroy anyone who gets in their way. Indeed, starting with Bill playing the sax on "Arsenio" to Slick Willie's passing of the racist Crime Bill to the mysterious disappearance of Ron Brown to Billary's racially divisive tactics on the campaign train here in '08 and you'll see that the Clinton's have been shrewdly playing Blacks for their votes for years while offering little in return. Yet, if it wasn't for a Black man running for President this year, black liberals would still be licking the Clinton's boots.

And yeah, personally there's no way I'm voting for the most liberal senator in Congress anyway. But want Barack to lose to John McCain based on the view that most Americans still share conservative ideals, not out of spite from racist Hillary Clinton supporters. Too bad that just isn't going to happen. Hillary Clinton felt from the very beginning that this was her year, ever since Al Gore lost to George W. Bush in 2000, Bill and Hillary Clinton have made it there business to return to the White House. And considering how much the Clinton's ego and their supporters feel that they've done for Blacks in America, there's no way they're going to let a young, Black, junior Senator from Illinois ruin their chances, even if it means sacrificing their party. That's why Al Gore needs to take a break from profiting from his all climate change lies, step in this cesspool and call out the Clinton's for who they are. It was Gore who had the guts to distance himself from Monica Lewinsky's boyfriend (despite his still-favorable ratings) back in 2000 while on the campaign trail for President. It is Gore who still amasses the most respect, stature and influence within the Democratic party. If he has any guts Al Gore will step in and put an end to the tyranny of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Meet Harriet Christian: Racist Hillary Clinton Supporter

This is the type of folks the Hillary shills at TalkLeft feel is now Barack Obama's job to reach out and ease their pain, help turn over a new leaf in order to "unite" the Democratic party. Forget their unabashed hate. Forget their ignorance. Forget their racist rants and utter stupidity in threating to vote for a man out of sheer spite. The Hillary supporters now say that Barack must convince the delusional likes of Harriet Christian to vote for him. Indeed, what Geraldine Ferraro has wrought is now making its ugly face seen:

And somewhere John McCain is smiling.

Bill Clinton Hints That The End Is Near

AFP:
Hillary Clinton's last-ditch campaign for Democratic leaders to jettison their support for the party's White House front-runner Barack Obama looked to be coming to the end of the road Monday.

Ahead of the last nominating contests Tuesday in Montana and South Dakota, even the former first lady's husband hinted at imminent defeat as the party shifts gears to take on Republican John McCain.

"I want to say also that this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind," former president Bill Clinton told a rally of his wife's supporters in South Dakota, ABC and NBC reported.

"I thought I was out of politics, till Hillary decided to run. But it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to go around and campaign for her for president," he added.

The Clinton campaign announced that she would hold an election night "celebration" Tuesday in her home state of New York, not in Montana or South Dakota.

According to New York newspaper Newsday, Clinton is to huddle with advisers and her husband at her upstate home in Chappaqua to monitor the final results and decide whether and how to end her campaign.

BTW, the idea that Barack Obama shouldn't be at all worried about Bill Clinton undermining him if he were to select Hillary as his VP, is just downright stupid. Slick Willie has 8 years of being top dog and he still has plenty of influence in the White House. He'd be sleeping with (on most nights anyway) a VP who he already feels is the "most qualified" candidate. Despite sleeping around on his wife while in office, he still left the WH immensely popular, yet the 'Clinton' name carries with it a huge amount of baggage (as the response to a new Vanity Fair article attests). His huge ego alone wouldn't allow him to keep his mouth shut when it comes to attempting to effect policy. Liberals say that a McCain presidency would mean 4 more years of Bush, what say anyone advocating a Hillary Clinton vice-presidency? Hypocrites.

Hillary Clinton Is Not Winning The Popular Vote

This sums up why the last, desperate plea from the Hillary shills is baseless and completely wrong:
Given the bitterness of so many Hillary Clinton supporters that the woman they thought would be America's first female president will not be, the more they hear the suggestion that Sen. Barack Obama's win is illegitimate, the more likely they are to bolt. If Senator Clinton's voters embrace the story that "a man took it away from a woman," denying her a victory she deserved, they're at risk of staying home come November, or holding back from the volunteering and get-out-the-vote efforts necessary for the Democrats to prevail. That's why it's so unfortunate that Mrs. Clinton continues to claim that "we are winning the popular vote." Because that statement is a lie - and it undermines every word she has recently spoken about the need for the party to come together.

Every time Mrs. Clinton claims she has a popular majority, she's shattering whatever cease-fire exists and making it that much more likely that her supporters will stay home in November.

If she really wants a united party, she needs to stop, and the superdelegates need to hold her accountable.
Look at Mrs. Clinton's math. She leads only if you give her 328,000 votes for the Michigan primary election, while giving Mr. Obama zero for not being on the ballot. But you also have to ignore the caucuses of Iowa, Nevada, Maine and my state of Washington - where a record quarter-million people turned out to participate. Our votes don't count under Mrs. Clinton's math. If the media corrected this, it would be less of a problem, but they haven't, or at least not in the same stories where they repeat her claim. After the Oregon and Kentucky vote, an Associated Press story in my local newspaper reported Mrs. Clinton's claim without question, saying only that it included contested Florida and Michigan votes and excluded the Iowa caucuses.

A
New York Times story included not even the slightest corrections or caveats. Neither mentioned that polls have Mr. Obama doing marginally better in Michigan than Mrs. Clinton. And no one has explored the impact of the roughly 60,000 Democratic voters who crossed over in Michigan to vote Republican - in part as a response to encouragement by liberal bloggers trying to further the Republican bloodletting by encouraging Democrats to vote for Mitt Romney.

Mrs. Clinton's emphasis on popular vote totals also ignores that this isn't how the party's rules are set up, and that if they had been, Mr. Obama would have made time, after the Iowa victory that made voters take him seriously, to have visited California and New York more than he did, given the size of those states.
Bottom line, your girl lost not just because she assumed that she had it in the bag, but because her competitor ran a smarter and better campaign.
