Media Bias Against Billary Doesn't Exist

The Billary shills at TalkLeft continue to perpetuate this myth that the media is somehow biased against their presumptive nominee, yet the facts continue to speak otherwise:
In a lengthy seven-a-half minute Friday CBS Evening News profile story, “For the Record: Hillary Clinton,” reporter Nancy Cordes devoted a measly 15 seconds, a piddling three percent of the story, to scandals connected to Clinton's actions. But the night before, in a “For the Record: Barack Obama” profile, reporter Dean Reynolds allocated 42 percent of his piece to Obama scandals: Anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan's ties to him and his church as well as his connections to indicted developer Tony Rezko. Here's the totality of all viewers heard Friday night from Cordes about scandals blamed on Hillary Clinton during her life:
Hillary Clinton's role and relationships factored into nearly every scandal that rocked the Clinton White House. Whitewater, an investment deal gone bad with friends from Arkansas. Travelgate, where she allegedly participated in the firing of seven White House Travel Office employees.
Cordes then stressed her innocence as she led into a mention of Monica Lewinsky; “But multimillion-dollar investigations turned up either no wrongdoing on her part or not enough evidence to prosecute. And the only Clinton investigation that did stick had decidedly little to do with the First Lady." Cordes proceeded to segue into her Senate years: “She has called it the greatest adversity she ever faced. But instead of retreating from public life, she decided to run for office herself.”
The leftist media may forever be out of touch, but it's never lost step with who it'd prefer be the Democrat nominee. Of course, only when Billary's back is against the wall do the shills raise a fuss about the media being so pro-Barack, despite their gal being declared the "inevitable candidate" from day one. Let's see how much whining they do if Billary wins Ohio and Teaxs next week.

Michael Mukasey Tells Nancy Pelosi To Shove It!

This new attorney general knows just what to do when liberals try to bully his office into pushing their anti-Bush zealotry. He tells them to
shove it:

WASHINGTON - Attorney General Michael Mukasey refused Friday to refer the House's contempt citations against two of President Bush's top aides to a federal grand jury. Mukasey said White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former presidential counsel Harriet Miers committed no crime.

As promised, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she has given the Judiciary Committee authority to file a lawsuit against Bolten and Miers in federal court.

"The House shall do so promptly," she said in a statement.

Mukasey said Bolten and Miers were right in ignoring subpoenas to provide Congress with White House documents or testify about the firings of federal prosecutors.

"The department will not bring the congressional contempt citations before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute Mr. Bolten or Ms. Miers," Mukasey wrote Pelosi.

Mind you, Pelosi isn't the main lib trying to force Mukasey into doing their bidding here, John Conyers is making himself heard on this crap too--the same John Conyers who still works hand-in-hand with the vapid "Impeach Bush" loons on the Left. But unlike his predecessor who ran the other way when confronted by liberal terrorism. it's good to have an AG who not only knows bullshit when he sees it, but is willing to call it to the carpet too.

Barack Obama Quote of the Day!

"I'm not a person who believes any one party has a monopoly on wisdom."

- Senator Barack Obama on how as president he'd work with both Democrats and Republicans in Congress

Angelina Jolie Is For The Surge

I still think she's an overrated skank who stole a still-married Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston, but considering all her leftist humanitarian efforts over the years, this is certainly news:

NEW YORK (AP) — Actress and humanitarian activist Angelina Jolie said Thursday that the reinforcement of U.S. troops in Iraq has created an opportunity for humanitarian programs to boost assistance for Iraqi refugees.

In an op-ed piece published by the Washington Post, titled "A Reason to Stay in Iraq," Jolie details the plight of refugees and says their conditions have not improved since she visited the country last August to urge governments to provide more support.

Jolie, who has been a U.N. goodwill ambassador since 2001, was in Baghdad earlier this month to again highlight the refugee problem. She talked with Gen. David Petraeus, the American military commander in Iraq, and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the U.S. Embassy said.

Petraeus "told me he would support new efforts to address the humanitarian crisis" as much as possible, "which leaves me hopeful that more progress can be made," the actress wrote.

She said she stressed to Iraqi officials there must be a coherent plan for helping some 2 million Iraqis who are taking advantage of the downturn in violence to begin trickling back to abandoned homes from havens elsewhere in the country. A similar number fled Iraq to escape the bloodshed.

"It will be quite a while before Iraq is ready to absorb more than 4 million refugees and displaced people," Jolie wrote. "But it is not too early to start working on solutions."

John McCain Does Right In Castigating Bill Cunningham

I won't pretend to know much about Bill Cunningham, but from the recent looks of it, he's no different than all the rest of the divisive, delusional, all-or-nothing, kick all the illegals out conservatives on the fringe Right:

CINCINNATI, Ohio (CNN)A supporter of John McCain, speaking at an official campaign event in Ohio attended by the Arizona senator, called Barack Obama a “hack, Chicago-style Daly politician,” and told the crowd “all is going to be right with the world when the great prophet from Chicago takes the stand, and the world leaders who want to kill us will simply be singing Kumbaya around the table of Barack Obama.”

“At some point in the near future the media, the stooges from the New York Times, CBS (The Clinton Broadcasting System), NBC (The Nobody But Clinton Network), The All Bill Clinton Channel (ABC), and the Clinton News Network at some point is going to peel the bark off Barack Hussein Obama,” said controversial conservative commentator Bill Cunningham, an Ohio native.

“That day will come and then you'll know the truth about his business dealings with Rezko, when he got sweetheart deals in Chicago,” he added, “and the illegal loans that he received, at some point the media will quit taking sides on this and maybe start covering Barack Hussein Obama the same way they covered Bush, the same way they covered Cheney, and they same way they cover every Republican.”

Cunningham also compared Hillary Clinton unfavorably to current First Lady Laura Bush.

McCain was not on stage during these remarks. Immediately after the event, he distanced himself from the comments, telling reporters that he had been informed about “disparaging remarks” about his potential Democratic opponents.

“I have repeatedly stated my respect for Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton, and I will treat them with respect,” he said.

“I regret any comments that may be made about these two individuals who are honorable Americans, we just have strong philosophical differences, so I want to disassociate myself from any disparaging remarks that may have been said about them,” he said, adding later that “I absolutely repudiate such comments, and again I will take responsibility it will never happen again. It will never happen again.”

By constantly reminding folks of Barack Obama's middle name and patronizing to knee-jerk reactions towards anyone they suspect being a terrorist the Limbaugh-Right only show how quick and willing they are to march in step with their leader. Too bad for them their exploitation of the fear card won't work this year, as we've seen with the likes of Duncan Hunter and especially Rudolph Giuliani, playing to the paranoia and demands of the fringe-Right will only leave you looking foolish and eventually get you kicked out of the race for President. And deservedly so. Thank goodness John McCain had the good sense to denounce Cunningham's dim-witted smear tactics.

GOP Voters Support Barack Obama

The Houston Chronicle reports on the increase in Republicans voting in the Democratic primary to ensure Billary doesn't win Texas. Some examples:

There is scattered evidence across the state that some Republicans may be voting Democratic, at least for a day. In one precinct in the suburban Houston neighborhood of Kingwood, where 82 percent of voters cast ballots for President Bush in 2004, Democrats were outvoting Republicans 4-to-1 last week in early voting.

....Daron Shaw, a political science professor at University of Texas, said surveys he conducted in two state legislative districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area revealed that almost a quarter of voters with a history of voting in GOP primaries planned on participating in the Democratic primary.

Says one Texas pollster:

"The argument I've seen is, 'Let's get rid of Clinton once and for all,' " said Ralph Bordie, who conducts the IVR Poll in Texas.

Bordie's latest statewide poll released last week found that 15 percent of Texas Republicans who said they will support the GOP nominee in November plan nonetheless on voting for Obama next week.

If it helps to get rid of Billary, you just know that I'm totally for it.

Barack Obama Pulls Ahead In Texas

As Billary continues with the personal attacks against Senator Obama, the momentum in the Lone Star state is turning Barack's way:

-- THE RACE: The presidential race for Democrats, Republicans in Texas

___

THE NUMBERS - DEMOCRATS

Barack Obama, 50 percent

Hillary Rodham Clinton, 46 percent

___

THE NUMBERS - REPUBLICANS

John McCain, 56 percent

Mike Huckabee, 31 percent.

Ron Paul, 9 percent

___

OF INTEREST:

Clinton and Obama were about even in a CNN-Opinion Research Corp., poll conducted a week ago. With the Texas contest next Tuesday, whites are divided about equally in the new survey, Obama has a large lead among blacks and Clinton is ahead with Hispanics. Democrats and Republicans pick the economy as the top issue they will consider in choosing a candidate. Health care ranks second among Democrats while illegal immigration is No. 2 with Republicans.

In other news, Louis Farrakhan has come out and endorsed Obama.
