Whoopi Goldberg Asks John McCain If She Has To "Worry About Being A Slave Again"

What does being an unfunny "comedian" long hailed by the liberal press, a failed talk show host from one the most radically Left radio stations, an ex-junkie and a high-school dropout get you? A chance to parlay your struggles into a successful, moneymaking career....as long as you change your name, drop the "angry, black women" shtick, bone powerful, rich, white, liberal, Hollywood elitists who can get you places and stick to the script by engaging in airhead, Hollywood-Left politics any chance you get, esp. when the GOP nominee for president happens to be kind enough to grace your presence:
The legalization of slavery is a big campaign issue. Just ask Whoopi Goldberg. Republican nominee John McCain appeared on the Septemeber 12 edition of "The View." Answering a question about his opposition to Roe v. Wade, McCain insisted that he would support judges who strictly interpret the Constitution. This must have set alarms for Whoopi Goldberg who asked "do I have to worry about becoming a slave again?" [audio available here]

If Goldberg -- who in the past has shown clear ignorance about the Constitution -- would actually read the Constitution, she would know a strict constructionist would not return America to slavery. The 13th Amendment to the Constitution states that "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except for punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Initially Senator McCain ignored Goldberg's question, but Whoopi expressed her enslavement anxiety again adding "there are certain things in the Constitution that you had to change." The "View" co-host should know that, unlike the legalization of abortion, slavery was abolished through a constitutional amendment, not a Supreme Court decision.

I won't even go further talking about the liberal bias featured on "The View" (I've done that many times already here) and John McCain's handlers should've known better than to have him go on there, esp. while he's leading in the national polls and has no chance of winning a Democratic state like New York ("The View" is taped in New York City) anyway. What's really insulting is someone like Goldberg suddenly acting like she cares about her race. I mean are even black liberals dumb enough to forget that Whoopi Goldberg is the same woman who had no problem with her white, then-boyfriend actor Ted Danson, donning blackface to roast her at a Friars Club tribute in New York in 1993? As a matter of fact Goldberg wrote most of the material for Danson, which included more than a dozen uses of a common racial slurs and lots of graphic talk about their sexual relationship. But now she's worried about being a slave....again? What a disgrace.
