My Guess Is John McCain Will Pick Tim Pawlenty For VP

Supposedly, John McCain has settled on his pick for Vice-President:
Sen. John McCain has decided on his running mate and will inform the person Thursday night, sources close to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee said. A Republican source said the matter was settled at a meeting of McCain's advisers Wednesday.

Plans are in place for the senator from Arizona to reveal his pick for the GOP vice presidential nominee at an Ohio rally Friday, the day after Sen. Barack Obama formally accepts the Democratic presidential nomination.

The McCain campaign is hoping to have 15,000 people at the Ohio event, roughly five times the size of his largest crowd to date.

Personally, I feel that John McCain will win the presidency come November no matter who he selects as his VP. I don't think that most voters, esp. moderates and independents, would ever feel at ease with the idea of leaving our country in the hands of a one-term senator with a highly liberal bent. But McCain and his handlers are still concerned by their relationship with the Rush Limbaugh-right, even if they shouldn't be. So my guess is that McCain will turn his back on the wishy-washy Mitt Romney as well as the relatively unknown Sarah Palin (tho she's still my favorite) and even his pal Joe Lieberman, and go with the decidedly conservative Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, who represents a fresh, young face, like McCain he wants to fight climate change and Pawlenty is from a state McCain needs to win come November. Granted, Pawlenty is also relatively unknown outside Minnesota, but if he's picked he'd certainly appease the far-Right.
