The Fat Lady Has Finally Sung: Hillary Ends Campaign, Endorses Barack

CNN:
Sen. Hillary Clinton formally ended her presidential campaign Saturday, saying to a packed house of thousands of supporters, "I will continue to stand strong with you every time, every place and every way that I can."

She urged the cheering crowd to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, in his bid for the White House, saying she and supporters should "take our energy, our passion and our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama ... I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me."

Her endorsement was met with a scattering of boos and thumbs downs from the crowd at the National Building Museum in Washington.

Good. The drama has finally ended in the Democratic camps and now conservatives can do their part in getting John McCain elected for President in November. But let one thing be clear: stupid, ignorant, racist smears against Barack Obama will only do Senator McCain harm, fuel liberal flames that the GOP is a party of racists and risk putting Obama in the White House. Barack Obama is now the Democratic nominee and there's plenty of issues that are dear to us that we can go after him on without going after his race or trying to make him out to be a Muslim.

Conservatives need to attack Barack's record as the most liberal senator in all of Congress, attack his limited experience in the military and foreign policy, his opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act, his opposition to a law that prohibited early release for sex offenders, his approval of partial-birth abortions, his many barbs against working-class voters that he made during his campaign as well as many more issues that Senator Obama is very vulnerable on (such as his stances on trade, Israel and religion). You don't have to like John McCain, but if you're a conservative you must vote for him. The alternative, a Barack Obama presidency, will lead this country into four years of liberal tyranny . . . at least.
