Ann Coulter Quote of the Day!

"From the phony child abuse cases of the '80s to the military assault on Americans at Waco, Janet Reno presided over the most egregious attacks on Americans' basic liberties since the Salem witch trials. These outrageous deprivations of life and liberty were not the work of fanatical right-wing prosecutors, but liberals like Janet Reno.
Reno is the sort of wild-eyed zealot trampling on real civil rights that Hillary views as an ideal attorney general, unlike that brute Alberto Gonzales. At least Reno didn't fire any U.S. attorneys!"

Oh wait --

Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Ashcroft: 0

Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Gonzales: 8

Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Reno: 93

Activist Iowa Judge Tosses Gay Marriage Ban

Another sick liberal judge seeks to make laws from the bench:

DES MOINES, Aug. 30 (AP) — A Polk County judge on Thursday struck down Iowa’s law banning same-sex marriage and ordered the county recorder to permit gay and lesbian couples to marry.

Less than two hours after word of the ruling was publicized, two Des Moines men applied for a marriage license, which was accepted and filed.

The ruling by Judge Robert Hanson concluded that the state’s prohibition on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional. He ordered the Polk County recorder to issue marriage licenses to six gay couples who had filed a lawsuit.

“This is kind of the American Dream,” said a plaintiff, Jen BarbouRoske, of Iowa City. “I’m still feeling kind of shaky. It’s pure elation. I just cannot believe it.”

Gay couples from anywhere in Iowa could apply for a marriage license from Polk County. The process takes three days, however.

Polk County is expected to appeal the ruling to the Iowa Supreme Court.

County Attorney John Sarcone said the county filed a motion for a stay from Judge Hanson, which if granted would prevent anyone from seeking a marriage license until an appeal could be heard.

Marriage is based on a Christian-Judeo belief of a man and a woman forming a union to procreate and/or express the ultimate form of love and avoid adultery. Liberals want to dilute marriage because doing so fits right into their immoral, anti-God agenda. It's time we start impeaching activist judges who are installing their personal beliefs on everyone else. These liberal judges have no regard for the people, law or the Constitution (which is based on Christian-Judeo principles). Hopefully the Iowa Supreme Court will see this case and overturn this pathetic decision.

Larry Craig Just Needs To Go Away

This one's too easy. There's been rumors about Larry Craig being gay since the 80's and we all know that where there's smoke there's usually fire. Yet putting aside the denial of his own inner demons, it's how much he's disgraced his family that's most important here, not the embarrassment and repercussions of being caught:

Pressure for Sen. Larry Craig to resign mounted within his own party on Wednesday, two days after disclosures the Republican lawmaker pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a men's toilet at an airport.

Republican presidential contender John McCain, an Arizona senator, told CNN the incident was "disgraceful" and added, "When you plead guilty to a crime, you shouldn't serve."

Other Republican lawmakers echoed McCain's call, while Senate Republican leaders asked Craig, 62, a third-term senator from Idaho, to step down temporarily from his major committee assignments. A White House spokesman said, "We are disappointed in the matter."

Craig pleaded guilty earlier this month to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after his arrest in June in an undercover sting operation at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport where police were targeting lewd behavior in the men's toilet. News of the case became public on Monday.

Just do what's best for your family and go away Larry, get whatever help you need. The GOP has enough problems without your perverted bathroom shenanigans hanging over their head.

Matt Lauer Is A Racist Pig

Because only in the liberal media can Don Imus be condemned for calling a bunch of Black girls "ho's", while Matt Lauer gets away with calling a Alberto Gonzales, son of a Mexican-American, a "pinata":

In a comment that’s bound to outrage Hispanic Americans, NBC’s Matt Lauer referred to outgoing Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as a “piñata.”

On Tuesday morning’s “Today” show, Lauer spoke with Democratic pundit James Carville about Gonzales and “the venom in Washington right now,” and said:

“When it comes right down to it, strange dynamic, an only-in Washington story. There are a lot of Democrats who just victimized and villainized Alberto Gonzales over these last eight months, but when it comes right down to it this morning, are not all that happy he’s gone, because in some ways, they’ve lost a piñata, haven’t they?”

A piñata is a brightly-coloured paper container filled with sweets and/or toys. It is generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling and is commonly used during Mexican celebrations. A person then swings at the pinata in an attempt to break it open and release the gifts.

Alberto Gonzales Resignation: A Victory For The Loons

I was shocked and disappointed by the news of Alberto Gonzales' resignation this morning. Gonzales wasn't the best Attorney General, but he did nothing wrong regarding the overblown, liberal witchhunt that was the US Attorney firings scandal and he was a much better AG than say Janet Reno, who got innocent people killed while on the job.

I know too that Gonzales' resignation had to really hurt the President, as Bush remained loyal to his friend throughout his tenure despite calls from both sides of the aisle for Gonzales to resign without a single smoking gun in existence. Then too Gonzales wasn't allowed to really concentrate on the important aspects of his job which included stopping child pornography and gang violence because liberal Democrats were hellbent on getting rid of Gonzales to serve their base. Wouldn't it be great if Bush enacted some revenge and named a new AG during Congressional recess? After all, as President he should have complete control over his cabinet anyway.

John Edwards Is A Hypocrite Part 5

Edwards accepted illegal donations for his presidential campaign. By now no one should be shocked at what this man is capable of.

DETROIT -- Attorney Geoffrey Fieger, best known for representing assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian, was indicted on charges of conspiring to make more than $125,000 in illegal contributions to the 2004 presidential campaign of Democrat John Edwards.

The indictment was returned Tuesday and unsealed Friday. It names both Fieger and Vernon Johnson, a partner in Fieger's Southfield-based law firm.

Fieger told radio station WWJ-AM that he would fight the charges and wasn't surprised by them. He blamed the Bush administration.

"We'll just embarrass these people," Fieger said.

Messages seeking further comment from Fieger and Johnson weren't immediately returned.

The indictment claims that Fieger, 56, of Bloomfield Hills, and Johnson, 45, of Birmingham, recruited 60 people, known as straw donors, to make contributions in the then-maximum allowable amount of $2,000 per donor to the Edwards campaign. The contributions actually came from Fieger's firm, the indictment says.

Of course Fieger blamed Bush. For liberals, whenever they do something wrong, pinning the misdeed on Bush is like night following day.
