Storage Company Engages In Liberal Terrorism

My guess is that the guy who runs this place was born in San Francisco:

A Manhattan Mini Storage billboard on Manhattan's West Side Highway is again stirring up both opprobrium and approbation.

A large sign at 44th Street and Twelfth Avenue shows a wire hanger with the words "Your closet space is shrinking as fast as her right to choose."

An earlier ad for the company read, "Your Closet's Scarier Than Bush's Agenda."

The president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, William Donohue, told The New York Sun the sign was "insulting and highly offensive." The president of a Manhattan-based nonprofit organization, Morality in Media, Robert Peters, said he did not know why the company would want to turn away a significant number of potential customers, such as immigrants from more conservative cultures. But the associate vice president of public affairs for Planned Parenthood of New York City, Roger Rathman, applauded the billboard. "We think it's fabulous," he said. "We salute Manhattan Mini Storage for helping to make New Yorkers as aware as we are of the growing restrictions on reproductive freedom in this country."

Most Manhattan residents support abortion rights, a spokeswoman for NARAL Pro-Choice America, Mary Alice Carr, said. She said it is great when a company wears "its pro-choice values on its sleeve Â-- or on its building."

This is nothing but a case of a company desperately using an inflammatory image to get people to notice them. What's even more sad and pathetic is that by
patronizing liberal dollars Manhattan Mini-storage assumes that potential customers can be bought off with cheap (and unfunny) political sloganeering. Of course, since most liberals are idiots I can understand that logic. But I'd still be interested in seeing a Republican walk in one of their stores just to see if Manhattan-Mini Storage was really about the buck or just playing on people's sympathies.

John Edwards Is A Hypocrite: Part 4

You just can't trust anything this man tells you:
LONDON (CNNMoney.com) -- Democratic presidential contender John Edwards has investing ties to subprime lenders who are foreclosing on victims of Katrina, according to a report published Friday.

The Wall Street Journal said there are 34 homes in New Orleans that face foreclosure from the subprime unit of Fortress Investment Group. Edwards has about $16 million in Fortress (Charts), a hedge fund and private equity manager, the newspaper said.

Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina, has been a vocal critic of subprime lenders and told the Journal that he would assist homeowners in New Orleans who face foreclosure from businesses linked to Fortress or who have already lost their homes.

"I intend to help these people," he told the newspaper. The report also said he would divest any Fortress funds in his portfolio that are invested in subprime lenders that filed the foreclosures. "I will not have my family's money invested in these firms," the Journal quoted him as saying.

Rising defaults among subprime mortgages - those home loans given to borrowers with the weakest credit records - has triggered a credit crunch and resulted in a wave of foreclosures.

Liberal Trash Jose Padilla Convicted

The terrorist finally gets his just desserts. Bottom line, don't help terrorists and you won't have to worried about being "detained" or "tortured".

Jose Padilla was convicted of federal terrorism support charges Thursday after being held for 3 1/2 years as an enemy combatant in a case that came to symbolize the Bush administration's zeal to stop homegrown terror.

Padilla, Adham Amin Hassoun and Kifah Wael Jayyousi face possible sentences of life in prison if convicted of all three charges in the case.

The three are accused of being part of a North American support cell that provided supplies, money and recruits to groups of Islamic extremists. The defense contended they were trying to help persecuted Muslims in war zones with relief and humanitarian aid.

Padilla was first detained in 2002 because of much more sensational accusations. The Bush administration portrayed Padilla, a U.S. citizen and Muslim convert, as a committed terrorist who was part of an al-Qaida plot to detonate a radioactive "dirty bomb" in the U.S. The administration called his detention an important victory in the war against terrorism, not long after the Sept. 11 attacks.

John Edwards Is A Hypocrite: Part 3

He just keeps making an ass out of himself with his blatant lies and hypocrisy:
Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards recently defended taking a lucrative book contract from a publisher controlled by Rupert Murdoch -- whose News Corp. empire Edwards has sharply criticized -- by insisting that “every dime” of his $500,000 advance went to charity.

Left unmentioned by Edwards, however, was that Murdoch’s HarperCollins paid portions of a $300,000 expense budget for the book to Edwards’ daughter and to a senior political aide, Jonathan Prince.

The sums paid to Cate Edwards and Prince, who are listed as co-authors on the little-noticed 2006 coffee table book, "Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives," have not been made public but were confirmed by two sources with firsthand knowledge of the book deal.

These and other details of the deal that have spilled out in recent weeks demonstrate both the complexity of Edwards' transformation into an anti-corporate crusader, and of Murdoch's double role as a corporate titan and political player.

Newark Murders: Where's Al and Jesse At?

I know that I'm probably committing some kind of "thought crime" for even mentioning this, but in light of the recent tragedy that unfolded in Newark, New Jersey (where 3 Black kids were allegedly shot and killed by a group led by an illegal immigrant) I couldn't help but notice that three, Black college kids are murdered and not a single word from Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson?!?

I mean, these weren't just a bunch of hoodlums who go murdered here. These were three (a 4th was also shot but survived) innocent kids shot execution style by an illegal immigrant (Jose Carranza) with ties to the notorious MS-13 gang (funny, I thought they all came here to get jobs, not kill people). And yet, publicly, there's not a single word from Hymietown Jackson and Racebaiter Al on a tragedy that's made news around the country. Makes you wonder if foreign criminal enterprises not as profitable for the shakedown twins? Or is a dumb, white dude calling a group of Black women "nappy-headed hoes" more important than what happened here in Newark? I don't know, but I am sensing just a little bit of "selective outrage" here.

No Memorial Service For Cecil Howard Sinclair And Deservedly So

AOL News.com:
ARLINGTON, Texas (Aug. 10) - A megachurch canceled a memorial service for a Navy veteran 24 hours before it was to start because the deceased was gay. Officials at the nondenominational High Point Church knew that Cecil Howard Sinclair was gay when they offered to host his service, said his sister, Kathleen Wright. But after his obituary listed his life partner as one of his survivors, she said, it was called off.

"It's a slap in the face. It's like, 'Oh, we're sorry he died, but he's gay so we can't help you,"' she said Friday.

Wright said High Point offered to hold the service for Sinclair because their brother is a janitor there. Sinclair, who served in the first Gulf War, died Monday at age 46 from an infection after surgery to prepare him for a heart transplant.

The church's pastor, the Rev. Gary Simons, said no one knew Sinclair, who was not a church member, was gay until the day before the Thursday service, when staff members putting together his video tribute saw pictures of men "engaging in clear affection, kissing and embracing."
Simons said the church believes homosexuality is a sin, and it would have appeared to endorse that lifestyle if the service had been held there.
Now I'm wary to side with any church that calls it "nondenominational" (too open-ended and suspicious for my taste). And I do recognize the fact that we live in a time where any old fool can gather some people up, enlist in some backwards theology and call themselves a "church", but I still want to commend this pastor for doing what he knew was right. Homosexuality is a abomination in the sight of God, true believers know this, liberals and non-believers don't. The idea that a church should overlook the fact that Sinclair chose to partake in a lifestyle (that he hid from the church) that is clearly anti-God, is stupid. Kudos to Rev. Simons for standing up for what's right when so many would've given in to avoid ruffling anyone's feathers. Liberalism, much less political-correctness, has no place in the house of the Lord.
