In San Francisco Morals Are A Nuisance

Before San Francisco, there was Sodom and Gomorrah:

July 13 (Bloomberg) -- San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is running for re-election virtually unopposed, more popular than ever, after admitting to having an affair with a top aide's wife and entering an alcohol-treatment program.

Newsom, whose approval ratings are running close to 80 percent, said he expects a credible candidate to emerge eventually. So far, challengers include a street-performing clown, a homeless man, an advocate for nudism, and a candidate who pledges to wear a camera so voters can monitor his performance in office.

``We haven't seen anything like this in a very long time,'' said David Binder, a pollster who has tracked San Francisco politics since the early 1980s. It's becoming one of the oddest elections in 25 years in a city known for making incumbent mayors endure bruising campaigns, he said.

Save Francisco Rodriguez

Apparently, there's a new phenomenon going on and all men out there had better beware. It's called "paternity fraud" and what it basically deals with is when a women
wrongly names the wrong man as a father for the purpose of forcing him to pay child support. In most cases paternity fraud involves single, poor women with a blase attitude to scheme even if it means lying to her child and poor, innocent men like Francisco Rodriguez:

Rodriguez, who is married with two daughters and a son from his wife's previous marriage, is fighting for leniency. "It's not right. I'm not the father, " he said at a recent court hearing.

He says he knew nothing about the other girl until paperwork showed up about four years ago saying he was the father.

He now has DNA results that show the 15-year-old girl wasn't fathered by him. He even has an affidavit from the girl's mother -- a former girlfriend from 1990 -- saying he's "not the father" and asking that Rodriguez no longer be required to pay child support.

Yet the state of Florida is continuing to push him to pay $305 a month to support the girl, as well as the more than $10,000 already owed. He spent a night in jail because of his delinquent payments.

Unfortunately, a radical feminist movement that has infected our courts and political correctness dictates that fathers must pay their child support obligations, even if they aren't the real dads. This liberal mindset has given rise to the welfare scam of the decade. Therefore, making it easy for any woman to go after a guy with a decent job and assure herself of legally-enforceable child support payments for the next 18 years. And there's little a guy can do as laws in many states make it difficult, if not impossible, for men to rid themselves of a child support order, even if they provide DNA evidence showing they are not the biological father. Even if the mother confesses that she lied. Sounds incredible, but it's an injustice that envelopes many thousands of men nationwide. Politicians are the only ones who can do something about this injustice because the idea of shopping for dads and getting away with it is just sick.

Katie Couric Thinks We're As Stupid As She Is

But most of us are actually way smarter than a woman who with the able assistance of the liberal media, has gotten by on looks all her life. So we know not to fall for her latest "woah is me" tour where everyone else gets the blame while she continues to be the "victim":

CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric says that she's not sure she would have made the move from NBC if she knew she'd be doing the type of show she is doing right now.

In a New York interview, Couric says that understands that viewers hate change and that they tried to change too many things in the first couple of months that she was there, but that she's not sure she would have taken the gig if she knew it would end up as the same traditional network news show. She says there are days she wishes she hadn't taken it. She even hints that if it doesn't turn out to be the job for her, "I'll do something else that's really exciting and fulfilling for me."

Yeah well, too bad for CBS viewers (what's left of them) "poor Katie" only has $15million a year of reasons to hold on to that job she's now "second-guessing". And too bad for "poor Katie" the American public just doesn't want its hardcore news to be delivered to them in a cute, snugly box labeled "Perky". So just admit that you failed, move on and let somebody with real skills do the job. Man or woman. As long as they can deliver the news and we can take them seriously while they do it.

Sheehan vs. Pelosi Is Funny In Of Itself

Dinesh D'Souza is dead-on regarding the prospects of Cindy Sheehan challenging Nancy Pelosi:

Sheehan is driven by grief that seems to have turned into blind hatred. Having lost her son Casey in Iraq, she now calls Bush “the biggest terrorist in the world.” She alleges that “my son died for lies. George Bush lied to us and he knew he was lying.” In her book Not One More Mother’s Child she writes, “Our country has been taken over by murderous thugs…war criminals…a pack of cowards and murderers who lust after fortunes and power…by spreading the cancer of imperialism in the Middle East.”

Sheehan doesn't seem to realize that Pelosi’s hatred for Bush is no less fierce than hers. Pelosi just has a different, and more Machiavellian, strategy. Her strategy is to play the concerned grandmother while quietly stabbing Bush in the back. It’s essential for Pelosi to act like she’s not out to “get” the president. Nor does Pelosi want to do anything that looks like she’s unsupportive of the American troops. Sheehan doesn’t realize that Pelosi is doing what she can to destroy Bush while still trying to look patriotic and "above the fray."

While Pelosi is playing the politician’s game, Sheehan is following the logic of her convictions. If America is the source of most of the terrorism in the world, then the War on Terror should be fought against American foreign policy! If Bush is a terrorist, he should be treated like Osama Bin Laden! It should be noted here that if the premises are true, the conclusions are reasonable. In reality the premises are not true. That's what makes Cindy Sheehan and others on the far-left such crackpots. They are like the guy who thinks he's Napoleon and starts planning the conquest of Europe and Russia. If you're Napoleon these may be wonderful projects, but if you're not it's time to haul out the straightjackets.

Ordinarily I'd laugh off Cindy Sheehan's threat to take on Pelosi, but Pelosi represents the San Francisco area and there are just enough kooks in that district who might make Sheehan a serious candidate. I'd like to see Sheehan use some of her trademark bile on Pelosi. It's my favorite kind of brawl: the left vs. the far left. Run, Cindy, run!

Lola Ogunnaike Quote of the Day!

"
A lot of people think it's a bit hypocritical. I mean, celebrities are some of the least eco-friendly people on the face of the planet. They say that they are interested in the environment, but you also have tours that not only guzzle a huge amount of electricity, but the gas, the tour buses, the entourages, the private jets, that all contributes to, you know, the carbon consciousness that everyone is so obsessed with right now. And they are some of the least eco-friendly people on the planet. So, to have them say, ‘People, you know, recycle,' use electricity -- you know, electricity-efficient light bulbs. People aren't really trying to hear that from Madonna when she's got a fleet of cars sitting in her driveway."

Elizabeth Edwards: Insane Liberal of the Week

Age: 58

Birthplace: Jacksonville, Florida

Claim To Fame: attorney and wife of former U.S. senator John Edwards

Why She’s The Most Insane Liberal of the Week: for continuing to allow her husband to use her as a pawn in his Presidential aspirations.

A week after working hand-in-hand with Chris Matthews to backstab conservative pundit Ann Coulter on Matthews’ low-rated “Hardball” show, Mrs. Edwards continued her verbal attacks on Coulter this past week. Interviewed Thursday on the CBS’ “Early Show,” Mrs. Edwards said that it didn’t used to be all right for people to “call names, to say these hateful kind of things.” Edwards said as a parent, she doesn’t think it should be allowed to happen now.

Yet, Mrs. Edwards seems to conveniently forget that it was she who played a key role in hiring two anti-Catholic bigots to help run her husband’s campaign not too long ago. Granted, the bigots would later resign, but that was only after conservative groups expressed outrage at the hirings in the press. Then too, just as her husband tried to garner sympathy votes by using her announcement that her cancer had returned recently for campaign funds, Mrs. Edwards made it clear that she has no problem with her husband using Coulter’s comments as a fund-raising tool, saying that “it’s showing what they’re asking voters to reject.” Either this woman is completely incompetent or just as shady as her husband. Or maybe she’s just a Stepford wife quietly begging to be rescued from her Svengali. Who knows. But one thing’s for sure: the two losers certainly deserve each other.
