The Fairness Doctrine Is Dead

Of course, your liberal press has little to say about this:
The House voted overwhelmingly yesterday to prohibit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from using taxpayer dollars to impose the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters who feature conservative radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

By a vote of 309-115, lawmakers amended the Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill to bar the FCC from requiring broadcasters to balance conservative content with liberal programming such as Air America.

The vote count was partly a testament to the influence that radio hosts wield in many congressional districts.
It was also a rebuke to Democratic senators and policy experts who have voiced support this week for regulating talk radio.
The absolute failure of Air America, the success of Bill O'Reilly and the continued dominance of Rush Limbaugh in radio is why liberals like Dianne Feinstein pushed for the re-entry of the Fairness Doctrine in the first place. Sadly, the fact that this bid of terrorism even made it to the House shows you just far liberals will go when they don't get their way.

Hillary Has Her 'Playing Sax On Arsenio' Moment

From Forbes.com:

If Bill Clinton was the "first black president," his wife and Barack Obama are vying to be the second.

Obama, the only black running for the White House, came into a debate Thursday night at predominantly black Howard University with the crowd on his side, chanting his name as all eight Democratic candidates posed for pictures on stage. But Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared to win many of them over in an impassioned performance that addressed their anger over inequality.

"If HIV/AIDS were the leading cause of death of white women between the ages of 25 and 34, there would be an outraged outcry in this country," Clinton said in the biggest applause line of the night, bringing audience members to their feet.

Black voters are a loyal base for Democratic candidates, which was why all the presidential candidates were sure to take part in a debate focused entirely on issues facing the black community. Polls show that blacks are closely divided between Obama and Clinton, with other candidates gathering less support.

Somewhere you just know that Toni Morrison is practicing how she'll brilliantly spin this one.

Ex-Lesbian Charlene Cothran Speaks On Her Journey From Homosexulity To Freedom

Rosie O'Donnell: Deranged Lunatic

By now, you've heard the news about Rosie O'Donnell
forcing one of the kids she co-raises to pose with military fatigues and toy bullets around her neck.

A dumb stunt that even had some of Rosie's
own fans pissed off.

Of course, with the move came
yet another half-hearted apology.

Supposedly, this picture was supposed to represent young kids who have to serve in war. Yet, I'm sure if Vivienne had any idea what was going on, she might've expressed some misgivings about it. But when you're on the Left who cares what those unable to speak for themselves have to say. Especially when you can just brainwash, exploit and/or corrupt them into your way of thinking. Any wonder why so many youngsters today lean Left? Because their young, impressionable minds are perfectly suited to become tomorrow's loons.

Where's The Right-Wing Outrage For Nikita Rau?

Far-right extremists like Michelle Malkin and
LaShawn Barber love to throw hissyfits concerning their want to get rid of affirmative action (so much that you know that they're both just salivating waiting for the Supreme Court's upcoming decision concerning two cases involving AA). Their moans and groans are usually accompanied by any story they can find of a white person/corporate or educational entity supposedly "suffering" in the face that great, big monster known as the AA bogeyman (then too, especially in the case of Ms. Barber, we're reminded again and again about how Blacks have and continue to benefit so much from AA, which is a flat-out lie). But what happens when a "minority" becomes a "victim" of affirmative action due to, of all things, a quota meant to benefits whites? Not a single word so far from Malkin or LaShawn. Any wonder why it's so easy to paint them each as nothing but self-hating xenophobes?
A Brooklyn mother and father got the shock of their lives when school officials informed them their brilliant 11-year-old girl was denied admission to an elite public school - solely because she's of Indian descent.

"I feel bad because I would have gotten in if I was white," Nikita Rau lamented over her failed bid to attend the Mark Twain School, IS 239, in Coney Island, a magnet school for gifted students.

It turns out Mark Twain - unlike all but one other city public school - admits students according to racial quotas established in 1974 by a federal judge who ordered the school's desegregation.

Under those quotas - which originally were intended to boost minority enrollment - 60 percent of Mark Twain's student body is set aside for white students, while 40 percent is set aside for minorities.

"This country believes in racial equality, and we should not face this in America," said Nikita's dad, Dr. Anjan Rau, a Bay Ridge resident who emigrated from India in 1982. "I think it's morally wrong!

Star Parker Quote of the Day!

"This is an entrepreneur from the far political left with a business model that is serving him very well. The usual left wing Hollywood con artist, who talks socialism and gets rich off capitalism. Moore's films are to social commentary what pornography is to human relations."

- conservative author and political analyst Star Parker on leftwing political activist Michael Moore

Stupidity In Virginia Academics

No lie. A 13-year-old kid gets detention for hugging his girlfriend in the school cafeteria:

Kilmer Middle School in Vienna, Virginia, is hardly situated in a remote part of the country. Close to the CIA headquarters at Langley, it is only a short drive from Washington DC. But Kilmer's head teacher, Deborah Hernandez, stood accused of being out of touch, literally and scholastically, today after imposing a total ban on physical contact between her 1,100 pupils. Hugs, cuddles and handshakes are especially taboo.

Ms Hernandez's no-holds-allowed prohibition came to light after a 13-year-old seventh-grader, Hal Beaulieu, slipped his arm round his girlfriend's shoulder during a lunchtime break. The girlfriend did not object. But a sharp-eyed school security officer caught Hal in the act. The next thing he knew, he was arraigned in the school office, charged with two misdemeanors and facing detention or even suspension.

Hal accepted a reprimand but remains defiant: hugs are not a crime, he says. "I think hugging is a good thing," he told the Washington Post. "I put my arm around her. It was like for 15 seconds. I didn't think it would be a big deal."

Hal's parents, Donna and Henri, agree. They have written to the Fairfax County school board, demanding a review of the ban.
Ok, I'm all for kids using gangs signs in school getting their comeuppance, but since when has a hug ever been interpreted as a gang symbol? The kids parents should not only sue, but Ms. Hernandez and the school board should be removed.
