Rosie O'Donnell Quits "The View" Early

Shocking news coming from ABC.

Proves one thing: Rosie didn't want it from Elisabeth anymore. What a wuss!

P.S. I've been doing the occasional blogging at Dana's excellent "Common Sense Political Thought" for the past few weeks. In the spirit of Keith Olberman's incendiary "Worst Person of the Week", I'm going to be starting a "Dumbest Liberal of the Week" column over there soon, so check out Dana's blog when you get a chance.

Person of the Week: Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Age:
29

Birthplace: Cranston, Rhode Island

Claim To Fame: the lone conservative co-host on ABC's "The View"

Why She's Person Of The Week: For finally showing some balls this week by putting fellow "co-host" and Left-wing extremist Rosie O'Donnell in her place this week on "The View". In a spat that made news all over the country, on Wednesday, Hasselbeck and O'Donnell got into in a 10-minute verbal joust after liberal co-host Joy Behar (aka mini-Rosie) read off a laundry list of what she viewed as President Bush's failings. After Behar and Hasselbeck went at it for 5 minutes, O'Donnell joined in the frey to double-team the conservative co-host as they usually attempt to do. Yet this time Hasselbeck was prepared.

Hasselbeck is often criticized in conservative circles for being "soft" and inarticulate with her views (to be fair I don't know how many female conservative pundits, not named Ann Coulter, could stand up, by themselves, on a daily basis, to a couple liberal co-hosts who play loose with facts and use bully tactics when debating issues), but that wasn't the case on Wednesday, as Hasselbeck was dead-on in attacking O'Donnell for being "obnoxious" as well as challenging her to defend her own insinuations concerning those in the media who've accused O'Donnell of calling our troops "terrorists".

O'Donnell, who has pretty much run "The View" (she controls the debates, makes all the announcements, commercials, segues and gives herself the most air time to voice of all of her insane, liberal lies) since Barbara Walters signed her on, seemed to be both shocked and angered that Hasselbeck was taking her on . . . and winning the heated debate. With only three weeks left before Rosie leaves "The View", Hasselbeck could just say little and count down the days down to when the "big, fat, lesbian" goes away, but instead she's speaking up and that's a very good thing for conservatives who get little say in the liberal mainstream press.

Mary Cheney Delivers Baby Boy

Funny how the conservative circles I usually frequent aren't saying too much about this:
Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Mary delivered an 8-pound, 6-ounce baby boy on Wednesday, the first child for her and her female partner of 15 years, Heather Poe.

Samuel David Cheney was born at 9:46 a.m. at Sibley Hospital in Washington, the vice president's office announced. Vice President Cheney and his wife, Lynne, paid a visit to their new — and sixth — grandchild a few hours later.

Mary Cheney announced in December that she and Poe had decided to start a family.
Thankfully, the state of Virginia doesn't allow Heather Poe to have any kind of legal relationship with the child should something happen to Mary Cheney. And that includes adoption and legal guardianship. Of course, that doesn't excuse Mary Cheney's selfish decision to bring a child into a chosen lifestyle that is anti-God or the Cheney's unabashed support for their daughter (would they show the same kind of "support" for Mary's homosexuality as they would if she was an alcoholic or a drug addict?). James Dobson said it best: “We should not enter into yet another untested and far-reaching social experiment, this one driven by the desires of same-sex couples to bear and raise children.”

Al Franken: Yet Another Limousine Liberal

Newsmax.com:

Al Franken, a comedian and best-selling author before launching his Senate campaign this year, is worth between $4.3 million and $9.9 million, according to a financial disclosure form he filed with the Senate.

Franken, a Democrat who hopes to challenge Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman next year, listed a salary of just over $1 million last year from his corporation, Alan Franken Inc.

That corporation is the business entity that provides Franken's services - such as speaking engagements and his prior service on Air America Radio - and then pays Franken a salary at the end of the year after commissions, taxes and other fees are paid, said his campaign spokesman, Andy Barr.

The disclosure reports require figures to be reported only in broad ranges. Barr said that Franken's net worth is closer to $4.3 million than $9.9 million.

I wonder while he's campaigning for a Senate seat, if like John Edwards he'll talk about the America's problem with poverty. I mean, look at what it's done to him.

President Bush Quote of the Day!

"He has done nothing wrong . . .
I stand by Al Gonzales, and I would hope that people would be more sober in how they address these important issues. And they ought to get the job done of passing legislation, as opposed to figuring out how to be actors on the political theater stage."

- President Bush, yesterday re-iterating his support for embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who may be on the verge of receiving a no-confidence vote from Congressional Democrats

Why Jimmy Carter Was A One-Term President

Because he didn't get it back then and he still doesn't get it now.

From Newsmax.com:

Former President Carter says President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.

The criticism from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.

"I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history," Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in a story that appeared in the newspaper's Saturday editions. "The overt reversal of America's basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me."

No former president in U.S. history has ever been more disrespectful of a current President than Jimmy Carter whose own presidency was plagued by unemployment, the rise of radical Islam (thanks to his lack of support for The Shah of Iran which then led to American hostages being held captive for more then 400 days), the rise of Saddam Hussein and the appointment of activist judges who took God out of schools, turned criminals out to the streets and helped turn American culture into a liberal cesspool. Any wonder why over the last 30 years Americans have rarely elected a Democratic President? You have to look no further than the disgrace that was the Carter administration and everytime Carter opens his mouth he reminds of that.
